the weekends came before changbin knew it, he already couldn't wait to come over to chan's place to study together. he didn't know why he was this ecstatic but he's got to admit, the older had been nothing but kind to him.
maybe that's why he felt this comfortable around him, even if chan so happened to be a junior. in fact, he felt more like a friend his age, and changbin never felt this way before - especially with someone he had just met.
he couldn't forget the way chan first introduced himself, the way his eyes lit up with a smile. it was definitely something he hadn't seen before, he was pretty much the only junior here to ever introduce themselves warm-heartedly to the freshmen.
no wonder chan made him feel so comfortable, he was way different.
and changbin couldn't wait to head over there and possibly learn more about him. after all, there was a part of him that was slightly curious to know more about him.
"have fun." minho jokingly smirked as he watch changbin get himself ready, causing the other to just roll his eyes at him.
"what do you mean, have fun? we're just studying." changbin spoke while fixing his hair, before turning around to give his friend a hard stare from across the room.
"yeah but, it could end up being more than just that." he reasoned, only widening his smirk even more.
this made changbin mentally face palm himself, deciding to just dismiss what he said. "whatever, it's not like i'm having a date with him."
"you might as well," minho chuckled. "i've seen the way he looks at you. it's possible."
"oh come on, we've only known each other for a few days already. how many times do i have to tell you? he has no interest in me." changbin folded his arms tightly.
rolling around in his bed, minho eventually made himself comfortable by laying on his back while holding the phone in the air. "you never know until you ask."
"whatever, it's literally the last thing in my head," changbin argued, soon glancing over to the clock moments later before widening his eyes in realisation. "oh crap, i should probably go."
and with that, he quickly grabbed the remaining of the stuff he needed and instantly unlocked the door to step out. lastly hearing minho's raised yet teasing voice, it only made changbin roll his eyes once again as he now locked the door.
"have fun! tell me how it goes!"
"what's his problem?" changbin quietly mumbled to himself, wondering how it ended like this. whatever, he should probably head over to chan's place now.
as he stepped into the elevator and out of the dorms, he started making his way over to the junior's dorms. it wasn't a lie that changbin was slightly nervous than he thought, just the thought alone of being in chan's dorm was starting to make his heart pound.
why was he feeling this nervous now? had he always felt this way? he was pretty sure he was excited before, now the feeling of nervousness also mixed in. was it the fact he was gonna be in a foreign place with older people than him?
or was it more than that? was it the fact he was gonna be with chan alone, in his dorm, studying? was that it? changbin didn't really know the answer himself, he just couldn't help but feel his heart pound way faster with each steps.
he was too deep in thoughts that he didn't seem to realise he was literally standing right in front of the entrance, changbin's heart beating even faster just by staring at it. well, it's not like he can back away now, he'd have to go through it.
'okay changbin, you can do it. you just need to find chan's place and everything will be alright.' he told himself inside, finally nodding in response.
that was, luckily, unnecessary when changbin soon heard a very familiar voice seconds later. "oh! changbin, you're finally here."
soon snapping his head towards the owner of the voice, he soon turned to face a happily grinning chan before him. "o-oh chan hyung, i didn't realise you were there." he nervously gulped with a shy smile.
the only thing that had an effect on him was the fact his heart was beating way faster than ever. chan just lowered his grin and quickly replaced it with a massive smile. "yeah, i just came out. come, i'll show you the way to my dorms."
changbin said nothing in response, nodding silently in response. chan only widened his smile as he now led changbin the way around the building. silently glancing around the humongous building inside, it wasn't until he widened his eyes in shock.
"woah, it's so much bigger than ours." he finally said, making chan chuckle as he was now walking by his side.
"yeah, don't worry though. yours will get better as you progress in this university." chan reassured him, before briefly eye smiling at him.
changbin returned the smile back, despite the endless nerves building up inside of him. after walking for a moment, they eventually stopped right outside his dorm. "here we are." chan said, now unlocking the door.
he opened the door wider for changbin to enter before following behind him, soon locking the doors moments later. "don't mind the floor by the way, my roommate is a very messy person." chan told him, and if it's on cue, a cute-looking freckled boy walked into the living room.
"i heard what you said about me," he eyed chan before shifting his gaze at changbin. "oh, you must be changbin. i'm felix." felix introduced with a welcoming smile.
"hey," changbin greeted, slightly taken aback from the sudden deep voice. the way it was mismatched from his young face. "um, i'm guessing you're older than me."
"yeah, i'm in the same year as chan," he smiled. "you can comfortably call me anything though. i don't really like the whole honorific idea of this sunbae-freshmen relationship."
"oh... then, felix?" changbin asked in a confusing yet wary tone, making felix nod nonetheless.
"sounds good to me," he replied, soon noticing the sudden dark expression on chan's face from behind changbin. "oh, sorry, am i interrupting something here?"
changbin instantly defended in reassurance. "oh no, it's okay-"
"actually yes," chan suddenly lowered his voice with sharp eyes, "we're gonna study here. so if you don't mind, can you not disturb us?"
slightly widening his eyes from the unexpected dark tone, changbin turned around to face chan. this made chan shift his glance over to him, his expression quickly brightening up again as he smiled greatly at him.
"oh yeah, sorry about that. i'll just leave you two to it." and with that, felix lastly waved over to changbin before disappearing from their sight.
"finally." chan muttered under his breath in slight annoyance, changbin failing to catch it.
"u-um... hyung." changbin called out in a worried voice.
immediately whipping his attention over to changbin, chan smiled massively at him with glittery eyes. "hm?"
"are you okay?" changbin asked him. "you sounded a bit..."
"what do you mean? i'm fine, why?" chan slightly tilted his head in confusion.
just slowly blinking his eyes from what just happened, changbin decided to just dismiss it. it wasn't like it was anything huge, maybe it meant nothing.
"oh, it's nothing. don't worry about it." changbin finally smiled it away, backing down.
"hm okay, do you want something to eat? or drink? i have plenty of things here." chan asked, now walking over to the kitchen quickly.
"it's fine," changbin tried to reassure him. "i'm not hungry right now."
"that's alright, we can still get some just in case we get hungry later on." chan smiled as he grabbed a whole bunch of snacks and drinks for him.
changbin eventually nodded, only following chan from behind. "thanks for having me here by the way. i've never been to someone's dorm before."
"no worries, i'm just really happy to be doing this with you." chan grinned as they both take a seat at a table. "let's get started shall we? is there any area you're still unsure about?"
this made the other think for a moment, taking a seat and opening his bag to get his textbooks. quickly flipping through the pages, he eventually landed on one particular topic. "this one," he showed chan. "i still don't get it."
chan took a look at the page before exclaiming in realisation. "oh that. yeah, it may seem hard but once you get it, you actually will realise it's much easier than you think."
and with that, he began explaining topics that changbin didn't quite understand. it didn't even take long when he finally understood all of the explanations and demonstrations chan showed him, both males getting their work done.
they were too immersed in the work that they didn't seem to realise how many hours passed, occasionally taking snacks along the way. it wasn't until they lastly managed to finish it up, changbin sighing in relief.
chan really is a life-saver.
"thank you!" changbin smiled widely at him, relieved that chan was able to help him out.
"no worries, you're a quick learner yourself. it didn't even take me long to explain everything, since you would quickly understand them." chan smiled.
feeling his cheeks get a bit flustered at the compliment, changbin couldn't help but smile shyly. "thanks..."
"of course, you're adorable anyways." chan's eyes glittered excitedly at him. soon glancing over to check the time, he then landed back on changbin with a smile still on his face. "we still have some time to spare. wanna do something together?"
slightly widening his eyes in shock, changbin was caught off guard by the question. chan wanna hang out with him? right now? unable to process what he'd just asked, it didn't take long when he eventually nodded in response, now smiling excitedly at him.
"yeah, i'd love that!"
