"No. We called the police, and they still haven't come." Maya said on the phone as she paced up and down, "Yes, we've been waiting." Maddie overheard her mom speak to someone on the phone.

Maddie went back to sit on the hood of Travis's car as she watched her mom pace up and down the driveway on the phone while Dean, Vic and Jack had a private conversation, she didn't know what was being said but Dean was raising his voice and his opinions.

"This situation sucks for those women," Maddie said as Maya walked over to the hood of Travis's car and stood beside her daughter after she had just gotten off the phone "I want to help," she added.

"The only way you can help right now is to do as you're told and go back and sit on the hood of Travis's car. Can you do that for me?" Maya said. Maddie began to argue but Maya gave her daughter the look that she knew all too well.

"Alright. Fine." Maddie mumbled.

"Good girl," Maya patted her head. Maddie pouted and moved her hand away, she didn't like being patronised. "I am just going to go and talk to Vic and Dean. Just stay here remember?" She stated.

"I know," Maddie mumbled. Maya walked off to go and speak to Dean, Vic and Jack just as the sound of sirens got louder as PD arrived at the scene.

"Alright, finally,  here's PD. About time," Maddie called out. Maya turned to look at her daughter and shook her head before she headed over to the squad car.

"Officers! Officers! My daughter is in that house!" Joyce said as she walked over to them and Maya tried to stop her from going towards them. The two PD officers got out, Schnieder and Wicklund.

"Okay," Wicklund said.

"My daughter is in there!" Joyce insisted.

"I'm Captain Maya Bishop, SFD. I'm the one that called you." Maya said. The two men looked between themselves.

"No, no, no. We got a call from the homeowner." Wiklund said, pointing over to the house. "He claimed that a woman was creating a disturbance," Wicklund said.

"This is a waste of time!" Dean said agrivated as he walked away.

"Okay, this woman believes that her daughter was abducted and is in this house," Maya said.

"We're just asking you to check it out," Jack added.

"Ma'am, what makes you think your daughter's in there?" Wicklund asked.

"We don't have time for this. You people need to step aside..." Schneider interjected.

"How about a little professional courtesy?" Jack interjected.

"...and let us do our job. Listen, we're not gonna barge into someone's home because some unbalanced woman can't keep her tabs on her kid," Schneider continued. Maddie walked over and stood beside her mom as she listened to the officer talk.

"Are you kidding?" Jack asked horrified.

"Now step aside." Officer Schneider ordered.

"Come on officer," Maddie said stepping forward. Maya put her hand in front to stop her from going any further as she looked at her teenage daughter.

"Do not get involved in this Maddie. You shouldn't even be here," Maya told her daughter as she wanted to speak to the police and insist that they do something.

"I know... I couldn't help myself," Maddie shrugged.

"I can smell Gas," Dean repeated.

"I do. I smell it. " Jack agreed.

"Yeah, yeah, I smell it, too." Maya agreed as well.

"Could be a gas leak," Jack suggested. Maya nodded.

"Check it out, Gibson," Maya ordered him.

"Yeah." Jack agreed, walking off to go knock on the door to investigate the suspicious smell.

"Like hell. This is my scene." Schneider said.

"Wow, this man seems like an actual douche-bag," Maddie muttered to her mom who was stood close by.

"Mads, just go back and sit on the hood of Travis car please kiddo?" Maya asked. Maddie sighed but did as she was told, moving to walk back over to the car and sit on the hood of it as she overheard the conversation, "Sure. It's your scene. I don't care about jurisdiction. We're dealing with a possible gas leak here. I'm gonna call it into my station, and if we're right, I'm gonna need you to secure this area... Simple as that." Maya said moving to grab her phone while Schnieder radioed for backup.

"We need backup at 10th Avenue and Newland, please... Immediately." Schneider said. Maddie scoffed as she overheard it all and shook her head at the officer.

"Seattle Fire Department. We're investigating a possible gas leak." Jack said as she knocked on the door and the man answered it.

"Schneider, are you gonna get these people out of here or not?" The guy asked the officer irritated as he stood in his doorway.

"That man took our daughters!" Joyce jumped in from behind Dean.

"I don't know anything about any daughters!" The man denied.

"Where are our girls?!" Sharon yelled.

"Your kid probably ran away to get away from you. Get off my property!" The man continued to yell as Sharon tried to budge her way into his house.

"Okay, okay, okay," Wicklund said as he guided Joyce away, "Hey, ma'am, ma'am, listen. If you want to file a missing-persons report, you can come with me." Wicklund said.

"No, I'm not going anywhere! My daughter is in that house, and I have to get her out!" Joyce shouted.

"I understand..." Wicklund said.

"Would you please just do your jobs?!" Joyce shouted to PD as she got upset.

"Ma'am, you need to calm... down," Schneider said.

"She absolutely does not need to calm down!" Dean said as there was the sound of glass shattering and they can see flames that look like they are coming from the basement window and they all shouted in surprise.

"Stay back, stay back!" Dean said as they headed over to look where the fire was coming from. "That is more than a gas leak," He said.

"This is our scene now. 19!" Maya said.

Maddie continued to sit on the hood of the car when she saw the flames from the house and she ran over to her mom.

"What happened?" Maddie asked worried.

"Maddie I really need for you to stay well out of the way, go stand by Travis's car, alright?" Maya asked. Maddie huffed and shook her head.

"No, I want to help." Maddie stubbornly said.

"Gibson, call it in. Hughes, uh, power and electric." Maya started to delegate the tasks as she took over the scene. "Maddie, please, just do as your told." Maya pleaded with her daughter.

"Jada?!" Joyce continued to shout as she ran towards the house.

"Montgomery, get some water on it," Maya said as the team all ran into action. Maddie continued to stand beside her mom as she was delegating her team.

"Ma'am, stand back," Wicklund said as Joyce was running towards the fire.

"Calm... calm down! Take it easy! Take it easy! You're obstructing the scene." Schneider said as

"That house is on fire, and their crying is what you're worried about?!" Dean said.

The man ran out of the house as he coughed while the team worked to put it out.

"Hey, What's going on?" Andy ran over with Robert Sullivan.

"Oh, thank god you two are here!" Maddie said as she spotted Andy and Sullivan run over. "That house is on fire," Maddie said pointing out the obvious.

"We can see that," Robert said as they glanced at the house in front of them.

"I literally only went to buy snacks, what the hell..." Andy said horrified as they walked over to the rest of their team. "What's going on?" Andy repeated.

"Two girls are being held captive in that burning house," Dean explained.

"What?" Sullivan asked.

"I need gloves!" Dean yelled.

"Here, got 'em!" Vic said.

"This woman believes that her daughter's in the house. We have no proof yet." Maya said.

"If we wait for proof, those girls could die," Dean said.

"Did you call it in?" Andy wondered.

"19's on a fire downtown. 88 is 7 minutes away." Jack said as he got off the phone and walked back over to them.

"7 minutes is too long." Maya said.

"I'm not waiting. I'm going in." Dean said.

"We don't have gear." Maya said.

"I am not waiting. I'm going in." Dean said.

"Miller!" Maya objected.

"I'm going in, too," Sullivan said as the two of them walked towards the house.

"Robert!" Andy shouted as the team began to shout for them to not go inside.

"Oh screw this!" Maddie said having enough of being told what to do and she ran straight into the house, completely forgetting to put any protection on so she didn't have any gloves at all.

"Maddie!" Maya yelled as she was quick to run after her, but people held her back. "I need to go in there! My daughter has just run into a house that's on fire, I've got to get to her!" Maya said.

"Captain, no! It's not safe, Dean and Sullivan will get her out when they see that she is in there!" Travis said.

"No. I need to get her myself!" Maya insisted, she tried to run in but Andy stopped her.

"Maya, no!" Andy said. Maya continued to push her way out of Andy's arms, she was determined that she was going inside, "Maya, let Dean and Robert get her out, they will get her, she will be okay!" Andy said. Maya stopped all her effort and exhaled a loud sigh.

"Get my baby girl out of that damn house!" Maya said as she raised her voice.

"Dean! Sullivan!" Maddie yelled as she ran through the house and coughed as she inhaled the smoke.

"Maddie?! What are you doing inside here? Go back outside!" Dean said.

"I want to help," Maddie insisted.

"It's not safe, kid. You don't even have any protection!" Sullivan pointed out, Maddie only had a facemask that wasn't going to last too long in this condition.

"Nah. Scew it. I want to help. I can hear them yelling!" Maddie insisted.

"Maddie, you need to go outside," Dean told her firmly.

"No," Maddie said firmly. Dean groaned and shook his head, knowing that he wouldn't win against the stubborn girl. "I will deal with my mom being pissed at me later. I just want to help these girls... please uncle Dean, please uncle Sully?" she asked.

"Oh, man. Now is not the time for you to be pulling the Uncle card," Dean said.

"Oh, god. Bishop is doing to kill us if we let her stay inside with us!" Sullivan exclaimed while Maddie continued to look determined to help him, "Ah, alright fine! Let's find the girls and get out of here!" Sullivan said.

"We're trapped! Please, can anybody hear us?!" One of the young women shouted.

"Help!" The other girl shouted.

"That sounds like the girls!" Maddie shouted in between coughing as they ran down the stairs.

"Jada! Shanice! Shanice! Jada!" Dean shouted as they looked for them in the basement.

"Can you see the girls?" Travis asked as they continued to search around and Dean coughed.

"I can't see them! We're gonna die in here!" Dean exclaimed as they searched around the basement.

"Please!" One of the two girls shouted out.

"I-I hear them." Dean said.

"Somebody help!" Jada shouted.

"I think they're behind the wall!" Dean said as sirens wailed in the background.

Outside, Maya's felt scared to death as she waited in anticipation for them to all come out. All she wanted to do was run inside after her daughter but she trusted Andy's word that Dean and Sullivan would bring her out.

"Hey. Miller says he can hear them." Travis said as he walked back over to them.

"Oh, my God," Andy said horrified.

"What?! What did he say?" Joyce asked.

"He said he could hear voices," Jack repeated.

"They're lying!" The man said.

"My baby's in there!" Sharon said upset.

"Hell, my daughter's in there trying to rescue them!" Maya said furiously as she tried to keep her calm and she scowled at the man.

"Hello?! Aren't you the police?" A civilian said.

"Do something!" Another civilian added in.

"Hey! Listen to me. If anybody is trapped in that house, they are going to die, and if that happens, I will move Heaven and Earth to make sure you stand trial for murder. Not to mention that my niece has run into that house as well, and if she is injured, so help me god!" Vic said getting in the man's face.

"Back it up, missy," Schneider said.

"Just tell us where they're at, Bob. Kidnapping charges are a lot nicer than murder." Wicklund said as the man, Bob, coughed and refused to speak.

Back inside, the air was filled with thick smoke as they tried to find a way to get the girls out of the basement.

"Please help us," The girls pleaded. Maddie helped Dean move the mattress as she coughed by the smoke that she was inhaling.

"Jada!" Dean said, coughing as he had inhaled the smoke.

"Help!" The young woman, Jada shouted as she coughed.

"We're right here! Can you hear us?!" Sullivan asked as he looked at Dean. They tried to un-do the padlock on the door.

"Alright, Shanice, Jada, stand back! We're gonna kick the door! " Dean said, he paused to hear the response from the girls but there was silence.

"I don't have a good feeling about this uncle Dean," Maddie said as she struggled against the heat and the smoke that she was inhaling. Dean looked at them both with a panicked look on her face.

"Shanice! Jada! Shanice! Jada! Shanice! Shanice!" Dean continued to shout as the fire was crackling.

Between Dean and Sullivan, they broke apart the door that was keeping the two teenagers trapped.

"Are they okay?!" Maddie asked concerned, both of the girls were passed out on the steps. Dean and Sullivan picked up one of the girls each. "Are they alive?!" she asked panicked.

"We need to get out of here, now!" Sullivan shouted. Maddie nodded weakly as she followed them back outside of the house.

"Jada!" Joyce shouted immediately as she spotted them. Both of the women ran over to their daughters.

"Maddie!" Maya exclaimed as she spotted her teenage daughter and ran over to her. Yes, she was the captain, but her main priority right now was her daughter, "Oh my god, Maddie!" she said relieved.

"Mom!" Maddie said. "I'm okay, I'm okay." Maddie said as she coughed. Maya pulled her daughter into her arms and immediately comforted her.

"What the hell were you thinking running into a house that was on fire!?" Maya said, she felt the relief when she saw that she was okay but she was now upset with her daughter.

"Don't... be mad..." Maddie said between coughs. "I just wanted to help... I couldn't stand there and watch," Maddie spluttered out. Maya sat on the floor with Maddie in her arms as she felt the relief of finally having her baby girl back in her arms again.

"I cannot believe that you would put yourself in danger like that. God, I was so worried about you!" Maya was upset and everyone could understand why.

"Mom... them girls are my age and it could have easily been me in that situation. I just needed to help them. Please don't be upset with me over that," Maddie said.

"I'm your mom Maddie, it's my job to be mad at you!" Maya said as she squeezed her daughter tightly.

"I want to do that again. The adrenaline was awesome!" Maddie insisted. Maya couldn't help but laugh.

"The newest member of station 19 right here... Firehouse baby!" Dean said as he pointed over to the youngest member of 19 as station 88 arrives with backup, they grab supplies and tend to the girls, who both start breathing again. Maya runs over to the aid car and grabs an oxygen mask and then walks back to the patch of grass while she puts the mask over Maddie's face.

"I'm taking you to Grey-Sloan, I want to get you checked out," Maya said as she held the Oxygen mask for her daughter who weakly held it.

"What? No mom, I'm fine!" Maddie said. "It's just a couple of burns on my arms. They're not even that bad," Maddie insisted.

"No. You just ran into a house without any protection." Maya said shaking her head, "You have burns on your arms that need taking care of! I am taking you to the hospital. No arguments, alright?" Maya said firmly.

"Alright. Fine," Maddie said with a short groan before she pulled the oxygen mask off her face to talk, "Those girls, they going to be okay, right?" Maddie asked. Maya put the mask back in its place.

"Try not to talk. They will be okay. You did a good job with Dean and Sullivan getting to them." Maya reassured her daughter.

"I wanted to thank your daughter for her help in getting my daughter out of there. I appreciate it," Joyce said to Maya. Maya smiled and nodded.

"No problem. Maddie was concerned about your daughter and her friend," Maya said. They continued to chat as Officer Wicklund came over to question Jada who was sat on the grass beside Maddie with her mom, he wanted to ask her some questions.

"Was there any, um... penetration?" Wicklund asked. Maya and Joyce both looked horrified.

"What is the matter with you?!" Joyce asked annoyed.

"I'm sorry, ma'am, but I have to ask..." Wicklund said as the other officer, Schneider, came over and whispered something into his ear.

"You don't have to ask it like that." Maya insisted and then looked at the teenager, "Okay. Jada, we need to ask you a personal question. Do you want some privacy?" She asked softly.

"No. I just want to stay with my mom." Jada said.

"Okay. Did he hurt you? Did he touch you?" Maya asked kindly.

"No. He didn't even talk to us after he locked us up down there." Jada said.

"Wait, wait. You think he would have... No, no." Joyce said as she started to cry.

"Miss, I'm sorry, but I have to ask a few more questions," Wicklund said.

"About what?!" Joyce snapped.

"Just give us a moment," Maya said.

"What the hell do you need to ask my daughter, who has just been through hell about?!" Joyce said.

"Your daughter just started a fire," Schneider said.

"Is this really the time?" Maya asked.

"Seriously, Schneider, can't we just..." Wicklund said.

"Those girls broke into my house and set fire to it!" Bob shouted while he interrupted them.

"Are you freakin' serious dude? You kidnapped them!" Maddie yelled.

"Mads, do not say anything," Maya said.

"I want them arrested for trespassing and arson!" Bob said.

"She was kidnapped," Dean said.

"Mom, am I in trouble?" Maddie asked innocently.

"With PD... no sweetheart but you bet your ass you're grounded over this for putting yourself in danger!" Maya said.

"So they say. These kids lie all the time," Schneider said which irritated Joyce immensely.

"You son of a..." Joyce said as she goes to lunge for Schneider.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa! Don't, don't, don't." Wicklund said as Maya grabs hold of Joyce to stop her from lunging at Schneider.

"Stop, stop, stop," Maya said as she held her back.

"Ma'am, you are under arrest for assaulting a police officer," Schnieder said.

"What?! She didn't!" Maya said.

"Hey, we're right here! We can see she didn't do anything!" Travis said.

"Come on! Let go of me!" Joyce said as she resisted being handcuffed while leaning on the squad car.

"Stop resisting!" Schneider said.

"Let go of me!" Joyce said.

"Mommy!" Jada called out from the aid car.

"No, Jada!" Joyce called out.

"Ma'am. Stop resisting." Schneider repeated.

"No, no. Jada, Jada, baby, I'm okay! Baby, I'm..." Joyce started to say as Schneider continued to be rough with her.

"Take it easy! Take it easy, man! What's wrong with you?!" Dean said as he ran over to PD who were arresting Joyce.

"Miller!  Miller!" Vic shouted, alerted that he was running over.

"Dean!" Maya shouted.

"Dean! Stop!" Vic continued to shout, but before Dean can get to them, another cop tackles him to the ground and several cops pin him to the ground and arrest him even as Maya objects.

"Get off of him!" Vic said as she runs toward them.

"You need to back up, too," Schneider said as Vic backs off with her hands up when a cop appears in front of her.

"Get off of him!" Jack, Maddie and Travis try to push forward, but two cops hold them back. Maya pulls Maddie back, warning her to not get involved again.

"You, too. Stop, stop." Schneider said.

"Are you crazy?" Andy asked.

"Get your hands in the air!" Schnieder ordered, pointing the gun at Andy.

"He's a hero! He just saved those people!" Andy said as she approaches and verbally objects to the arrest, but another cop shoves her to the ground. Sullivan sees this and shoves the cop. Several cops then pull out their guns and arrest Sullivan at gunpoint.

"That's it! Freeze!" Schneider shouted.

"No, no, no! Robert!" Andy shouted.

"Get your hands in the air! Now!" PD shouted.

"Robert, please. Please." Andy continued to plead.

"Officer? Officer, please, this is my team." Maya pleads with the officers

Maddie couldn't believe her eyes and what she was seeing, she watched in horror as two men who she looked at as uncles were loaded into PD cars. Maddie weakly got up off the grass and walked over to stand beside her mom and the rest of the firefighters.

"What the hell just happened?" Maddie turned to look at her mom who just shook her head and sighed, unsure of it all herself.

"I don't know kiddo. I don't know." Maya said with a sigh as she pulled her daughter into her arms as they all just stood in the middle of the road as they watched PD drive off.

"Well, what do we do now?" Jack wondered.

"I am going to take Maddie to Grey-Sloan and get her checked over but I suggest that you all head down to PD, and wait. As soon as we are finished at the hospital, we will come down and join you." Maya said in an authoritative voice. The team nodded.

"Sure. See you down there, Cap!" Travis said speaking for them all.

"You were brave in their kid," Jack said as he patted Maddie on the shoulder.

"Thanks...I think I am going to pay for it now though," Maddie said as she looked at her mom who was nodding in agreement, "Yep. Grounded for a week or two."

"More like a month, Madison." Maya said wrapping her arm around her daughter, "Come on, lets' head to the hospital." she said.

"What? A month!" Maddie said with a groan as they walked back to the apartment and climbed into Maya's car.

"Yes, you're damn sure that it's a month, you almost gave me a heart attack and I'm not even thirty yet," Maya said as she buckled her seatbelt and they drove to the hospital, she quickly scrolled through her contacts in her cars' Bluetooth system and found Carina's number, it rang a few times before Carina answered the phone on the other end.

"Ciao Bambina," Carina said.

"Hi Car, I'm on my way to Grey-Sloan with Maddie," Maya asked as she concentrated on the road in front of her.

"What? What's the matter? Is everything okay?" Carina asked automatically concerned.

"Ah, I will explain when we arrive. We're about five minutes away," Maya said.

"Okay, yeah, I will be waiting for you outside." Carina agreed. Maya knew that Carina would be concerned, but she didn't think that she should ask too many questions right now. "I will go grab Andrew as well, see you soon Bella, bye!" she ended the call.

"Well this is one way to get into the hospital to see Zio," Maddie smirked as she sat in the passenger seat. Maddie turned to look at her daughter and was unimpressed. "Okay, got it... I will stay quiet," she muttered to herself.

Carina had gathered Andrew and they were both stood outside waiting for Maya and Maddie to arrive at the hospital.

"So, uh, what's happened?" Andrew asked confused.

"I don't know. Maya just called me and told me that she is bringing Maddie here," Carina said.

"What? Maddie's hurt?!" Andrew said alarmed.

"Yes. I don't know what has happened though," Carina said with a car, "Maya said that they would be five minutes so it isn't going to be too long." Carina said.

"Oh! I think that I can see Maya's car now!" Andrew said as he saw Maya pull into the car parking lot. Carina nodded as they waited to see what had happened. Maya parked the car and Maddie climbed out as she held her arm that was burnt.

"Oh, my god! What happened?!" Carina asked shocked by the burns on Maddie's arms.

"Maddie ran into a house that was on fire," Maya said with a sigh.

"What?" Andrew said in disbelief.

"They're not that bad," Maddie said with a simple shrug. All of the adults didn't look too convinced. "There were girls that were kidnapped. I wanted to help!" Maddie insisted as they headed into the hospital. The three adults glanced between each other and Maya motioned that she would explain later. "So, how bad are my burns?" Maddie grinned sheepishly.

"They're second-degree burns. They are pretty bad Bambina. Were you not wearing any protection?" Carina asked as Maddie sat down on the gurney in the empty ER room.

"Ah... Nope," Maddie said. Carina and Andrew looked horrified.

"Right, we need to page Avery right now," Andrew said as he briefly examined the younger girl.

"I think you may be overreacting Zio," Maddie rolled her eyes.

"I'll be the judge of that kid. How much smoke did you inhale?" Andrew asked.

"Ah... not much," Maddie shrugged. Maya shook her head and bit her lip, she felt herself get upset so she needed to walk away, Carina was quick to follow her girlfriend as Andrew pulled a chair up to his teenage niece to make sure that she was okay while they waited for Avery.

"Here you go kid, have some oxygen," Andrew said as he handed her a mask to breathe in. "You wanted to be a hero, huh?" He asked softly. Maddie nodded as she breathed Oxygen in. "Don't talk. You need to rest. You did a pretty brave thing, even if it was incredibly stupid but you will be okay," Andrew reassured her.

"Bella, are you okay?" Carina wondered as she walked over to Maya who had walked off, she could see the tears in her eyes.

"I'm sorry. I don't mean to get upset. I-I just can't believe that she would do something like that, and she would put herself in danger like that." Maya said as she wiped her tears away while Carina comforted her.

"Yes I agree... a thirteen-year-old should not run into fires! Why would she do that, she is just a Bambina," Carina said with a sigh. "You have every right to be upset, she's your daughter after all," Carina said. "Maddie will be okay though, Dr. Avery will treat her burns, she will be fine!" Carina said.

"I know. I know that she will be fine, but I can't help but worry still. Oh god, Carina. My whole team is down at PD, everything is such a mess." Maya explained.

"What happened? I left the apartment this morning under the impression that you were having drinks to celebrate," Carina said confused.

"There was a house a few blocks away, a man kidnapped two teenage girls and they were both of them were the same age as Mads. PD didn't believe they were in there so the girls started a fire so they could get the help. Dean and Sullivan went into the rescue them, and Maddie followed them inside." Maya explained. Carina's eyes were wide as Maya explained, "Things escalated and PD arrested one of the girls' moms and then Dean and Sullivan got arrested. I have said that once we're done at the hospital, we will join them so I can talk to PD, hopefully, my input as Captain might help," Maya said.

"Oh, my god," Carina said in complete shock at it all.

"Ah Dr Avery, you must be the guy that can fix my burns..." Maddie said as Dr Jackson Avery walked over to them. Maddie saw her mom and Carina talking out of the corner of her eye and felt bad seeing her mom cry.

"Hey, I heard that we had a minor with some burns. So, you ran into a fire?" Jackson Avery said as he examined the burns, "Oh wow, yeah, we will treat these burns and get you all sorted," He said as he examined her arms and hand which was burnt a little bit.

"Sounds good to me," Maddie agreed. "Oh hey, aren't you're the guy that was dating Vic?" she realized.

"Yes, I am and you must be Maddie, right? Captain Bishops' daughter, I've heard a lot about you from people, you're well-loved by a lot of people!" Jackson said.

"I get that a lot!" Maddie said cheekily. Jackson chuckled as he tended the teenagers' burns as Andrew sat beside her and held her other hand as it was painful.

Maya and Carina came back over to join them as Jackson had just finished treating the burns.

"Alright, so the burns have been treated, they just need to be taken good care of but I trust that you will be in good hands," Jackson said as he looked between all of the adults, "I better get back to my other patients. Good to see you again Captain Bishop,"

"You too, Jackson. Thanks for taking the time to treat my kids' burns. I can assure you that she won't be running into fires anytime soon," Maya said. Maddie grinned sheepishly. Jackson chuckled before he walked off.

"Am I still grounded?" Maddie wondered.

"What do you think, kiddo?" Maya asked crossing her arms. Carina and Andrew both stood beside her with the same expression. "We should be getting to PD now to speak to them and see if Dean and Robert can be released anytime soon," Maya said with a sigh.

"Alright. I will see you at home tomorrow at some point, I'm working a twenty-four-hour shift," Carina told her, adjusting the mask off her face slightly and kissing her girlfriend goodbye.

"Bye kid," Andrew said, ruffling her hair. Maddie waved to them both as they exited the hospital.

"Lets' head down to PD and go see what is happening," Maya said as they got into the car and headed towards PD to go find out what is happening with the two firefighters.
