"What would you, Y/n, and i need to talk about?" Kyojuro asked. "I'm meeting you for the first time, and i already dislike you." Akaza said.
"Is that right?" Kyojuro questioned. "Well, i loathe weak humans, too. The sight of a weakling makes my skin crawl." Akaza said.
"Then, it looks like our senses of value are completely different." Kyojuro replied. "All right, then i have a brilliant proposal for you. Why don't you become a demon, too? You and the girl." Akaza suggested.
"What do i have to do with this?" You asked. "Because you're a woman. I don't hurt women, nor do i devour them. And you're a weakling, but you're stronger than that boy over there so you might be worthy enough." Akaza explained, "So? What do you say?" Akaza asked.
"No, i will not." You replied firmly. "Neither will i." Kyojuro said.
"I can tell your strength at a glance. One with the gaudy hair, you're a hashira, aren't you? Your fighting spirit has been honed to the hilt. It's close to the realm of the highest." Akaza pointed out.
"I'm the flame hashira, Kyojuro Rengoku." Kyojuro said.
"Kyojuro..... let me tell you why you can't enter the realm of the highest. Because you're human. Because you're going to grow old. Because you're going to die. Become a demon, Kyojuro. Do that, and you can go on training for a hundred, for two hundred years. You can become stronger." Akaza attempted to persuade Kyojuro.
You slowly backed away and beside Tanjiro who was tapping your leg earlier. "What is it?" You whispered as Kyojuro and Akaza conversed.
"This one has the strongest scent of Kibutsuji....! You have to help him fight!" Tanjiro whispered. You nodded and stood back up.
"This boy and girl aren't weak! Don't insult them. I'll repeat it as many times as it takes. You and i have different senses of value. No matter what the reason, neither i nor Y/n will become a demon!" Kyojuro said.
"I see." Akaza slammed his foot into the ground, and was now standing on a glowing snowflake.
"If you refuse to become a demon, Kyojuro.... i'll kill you." Akaza said. Akaza ran forward. "Protect Tanjiro, Y/n!" Kyojuro shouted as he ran at Akaza.
They both fought, and they fought so fast, you could barely keep up with their movements. Flashes of fire and fists of air were the only things you could catch as they fought.
Inosuke walked over, and Tanjiro tried getting up, but you put your arms out to stop them both.
"Stay where you are!" Kyojuro shouted. They both froze in their spots. "If that wound opens, it'll be fatal!" Kyojuro warned.
"Stand back! That's an order!" Kyojuro ordered. "Don't bother with that weakling, Kyojuro! Come on, give me your best shot!" Akaza laughed.
Kyojuro used his sword like a baseball bat and hit Akaza into the forest, running after the demon.
A few seconds later, Kyojuro was hit out of the forest. "Rengoku!" Tanjiro called out. "Ol' goggle-eyes!" Inosuke said. "Huh?" You looked at Inosuke with confusion. What type of nickname was that?
Akaza emerged out of the forest and once again tried to persuade Kyojuro to become a demon, but he refused.
While they spoke, Kyojuro decided to let you into the fight after contemplating carefully. Kyojuro hoped he didn't make the wrong decision.
"Now, Y/n!" He shouted. "Huh-?" Tanjiro and Inosuke looked at you, but you were gone. "No fair! I wanna fight pink hair!" Inosuke whined. "Y/n!" Tanjiro strained.
In a blink of an eye, you were in front of Akaza. Akaza's eyes widened, and ended up reacting slowly.
He tried jumping back, but you beat him to it. 'Fourth form: striking tide!' You slashed your sword and twisted your body, closing in on Akaza and he dodged each attack.
"I told you i don't hurt women!" Akaza exclaimed.
"Well then, isn't that easier for me?" You muttered with a slight grin.
You cut his arms, chest, and even his face. Akaza was able to dodge each one, but gained a few cuts.
As you felt Kyojuro make his way over while Akaza was distracted, at the right moment, you ducked and got out of the way as Kyojuro sent fast slashes and cuts at Akaza.
You and Kyojuro went back and forth, from you, to Kyojuro and again.
This time, you and Kyojuro were going to attack at the same time. As you ran towards Akaza, Kyojuro went behind him.
He blocked your attack with his arm, doing the same for Kyojuro. "Come on! You're getting closer to death the more you attack! Become a demon! Fight by my side!" Akaza yelled.
"Didn't we tell you already? We have no interest in becoming a demon!" You shouted back. You and Kyojuro both cut off his arms, and Akaza jumped up.
He landed behind Kyojuro who turned around fast, and slashed at him again. Akaza saw an opening and punched him, breaking a rib or two. "Rengoku!" You yelled.
You went in his place and took in a deep breath. 'Hinokami Kagura: burning bones, summer sun.' Akaza became annoyed, and sent air fists at you which you blocked with your fire attack.
"You're quite an annoying woman." Akaza said, jumping back. He disappeared from where he was.
Looking around with confusion, you tried to look for him, but the dust made it harder. "Watch out!" Kyojuro ran in front of you and used his sword to block Akaza's attack.
Everytime you tried to back away, Akaza was there, and Kyojuro protected you in time.
You disappeared from your spot and behind Akaza, raising your sword. But Akaza caught your sword in his hand when you least expected it.
Before you could use any techniques, Akaza ripped it out of your grip and used it to block Kyojuro's sword. "Y/n, stand back!" Kyojuro ordered.
You nodded and ran, but stopped when Akaza tried to swing the sword, aiming for Kyojuro but almost hitting you.
Kyojuro appeared and blocked it. "Go!" Kyojuro repeated, but more sternly this time.
Akaza took your sword back and tried to stab Kyojuro, but it missed as the flame hashira had dodged it. But Kyojuro forgot you were behind him.
Kyojuro's eyes widened, and his breath was caught in his throat. You were still behind Kyojuro, trying to get out of the situation.
But you were now frozen as you coughed, feeling pain spread throughout your stomach. The crimson liquid seeped through your uniform and your haori. He hit a vital spot.
Akaza's breath quickened and he took a few steps back, eyes wide and hands trembling. "I-i-" He choked on his own words.
"I thought you don't hurt women." You whispered, coughing into your arm.
"No i-i don't! I didn't mean to!" He desperately watched as your blood got absorbed into the dirt below you.
His hand went to his mouth as he felt sick to his stomach. After what happened to Koyuki... he promised himself and Muzan that he just couldn't hurt women. He walked backwards, shaking his head in denial.
"Big sis!" Tanjiro cried. "Witch!" Inosuke exclaimed. As you stumbled back and almost fell, Kyojuro caught you.
He began to panick, using his hands to press down on your wound. You cried out in pain, which made him immediately retract his hand.
Kyojuro had never felt so scared in his life.
Your teeth were clenched and your eyes were squeezed tight as you tried to ignore the pain, but the pain was too strong right now to just ignore.
His brows furrowed in frustration as he heard your breath quicken its pace. He carefully picked you up bridal-style, with your figure curled up against him.
He rushed towards Tanjiro and Inosuke, setting you down gently. Tanjiro carefully sat up, his eyes snapping to your sword that was plunged into your stomach.
Kyojuro felt guilt weigh down on him and his hands began to tremble. It was his own fault that you're dying now. He balled his fists and sighed deeply.
"I'm sorry, i should've never brought you into this." Kyojuro grit his teeth and clenched his jaw in anger.
He was upset. No, he was beyond that. To see someone hurt you? Who could do such a thing? To you? No, this was unacceptable.
"It's... fine. Don't blame yourself." You brushed it off as you leaned against Tanjiro who was sat up, holding his older sister. This wasn't fine.
Kyojuro took off your mask slowly and brushed loose hair behind your ears. His eyes softened at your face.
"Use total concentration constant. Stop the bleeding. Tanjiro, Inosuke, help her. Make sure she doesn't die." Kyojuro ordered, disappearing in a flash after giving you a worried glance. "Is your belly okay?!" Inosuke asked.
"No, no it's not." You shook your head. Tanjiro used a cloth he had to press down on your wound, which made you groan. "Sorry, sorry, sorry." Tanjiro muttered.
"We have to pull out the sword!" Inosuke said. "No, don't pull out the sword! She'll die from blood loss if you pull it out!" You heard Kyojuro shout.
Tanjiro put you in a comfortable position and carefully hugged you. "Everything will be okay....." He whispered.
