We were now inside the shopping centre, and I was just a little bit excited to start shopping. "So which shop first?" Didyme asked as she gestured to the many surrounding shops. "Um, New Look I think."
So we both headed straight for New Look which was huge. I ran inside like a kid on Christmas, Oh God that sounds like I'm describing Sulpicia. I couldn't help but internally laugh at that.
Immediately I hit the rails, looking through every item of clothing. Ten minutes in and I had already found: two tops, one skirt and a nice dress scarf.
even Didyme seemed to be looking at some stuff when I peered over the railings making sure she was still here, though she seemed to be looking at them a bit confused, especially when she picked up a crop top.
"Didyme I think I've got everything I want from here," I walked over to her and let her know that I had found some stuff I liked. Together we headed to the till to pay, and when it came to hearing the price I nearly tripped over air.
£35! for four items that's ridiculous, I had actually forgotten how expensive some of these shops were, when there wasn't a sale on.
"Didyme are you sure?" I asked before Didyme had payed, "Yes I'm sure sweetheart," She whispered back to me paying before I could interject again.
Now out of New Look, I wasn't sure where to go to next, "Didyme is there anywhere you want to go," It was as if every store in existence had suddenly left my head, and I couldn't remember any of them.
"No not really Ana, but if your stuck for shops, why don't we go to Oasis?" That was a perfect idea, I hadn't been there in quite a long time. "That sounds great Didyme." And so we headed to Oasis.
We had now be looking in Oasis for about ten minutes and I had actually found two dresses I really liked. When I had finished looking around I saw Didyme waiting for me with a pretty pink and white dress in her hand.
Once again we headed to the till to pay, Didyme paying for my clothes first, and then I just remembered I had brought my grey backpack with me, which means I had about £40 on me, and then when I caught a glimpse of the price tag, on the pink and white dress Didyme had grabbed, I had an Idea.
I had quickly gotten the money out of my bag, without didyme noticing and Just before she payed for her own I interjected. "Here you are," I said to the lady behind the till, handing her the money before Didyme could pay with her card.
"No Ana you don't need to do that," Didyme looked to me, "well to late, and anyway I want to," I smiled up at her and quickly grabbed the shopping bag containing her dress and running out of the shop before she could return it.
I was out of the shop as quick as I could with Didyme's dress, and when I turned around, I saw Didyme speed walking up to me at a human pace. Her face looked slightly mad, but I could tell deep down she was really happy.
"Here you go, my gift to you," I told her, as I passed her the shopping bag, which she took off of me. "Ana you really didn't have to do that," She scolded but really I couldn't be happier.
"Yes I did, you've bought me all these beautiful clothes the least I can do is pay for something you really wanted," "But..I" I quickly cut her off before she could finish, "No ifs, ands or buts, I wanted to," That seemed to silence her, but she really did seem happy and smiled at me with one of the sweetest smiles I've ever seen.
"Why don't we have a lunch break?" Didyme asked, as we walked down and past some over shops coming up to a little café. "That's sounds amazing," and when I sat down at the table we had chosen, I breathed out a sight of relief, happy to put the bags down.
We or should I say I, ordered my food and Didyme had gotten a water, I think to hold up appearances, and we just sat waiting for my food to arrive.
"Have you had a nice time so far, Ana?" Actually I've had a lovely time, it was amazing to be out and to be shopping, and I had actually loved having Didyme as company today.
"Ye, I've had an incredible day, and I've had amazing company," I smirked slightly at her, and she just smiled happily at me.
My food had arrived and I began to eat, when Didyme then asked me a question. "So Ana, what was one of your favourite things to do when you were younger?" She asked and I answered without even thinking.
"well sometimes after school when I was about 11, me and my friends would go down to the fields, and this one time we got into a massive game of tig, it was so much fun, then my older brother joined, and out of no where he picked me up and started twirling me around as I laughed loudly, like I didn't have a care in the world." I had blurted out to her.
"That sounds like so much fun, so you have a brother?" She asked and immediately I froze on the spot, just thinking about James. "Oh um, How's your food," clearly she had seen me freeze and it made me feel vey happy, that she had decided to drop the topic without me answering.
"Um... ye it's lovely thank you," I responded, mouthing a thank you to her afterwords, and all she did was nod and smile, but that's all she needed to do.
An hour later and all our shopping was done, we ended up with about fifty bags, and I'm actually not joking for once. "Right I'm going to make a quick call, so we don't have to take all this bags back home," Didyme told me as she placed all the bags she had carried on the floor by our feet, as she pulled out her phone.
"Okay that sounds good," I told her as I dropped my bags to the floor, my arms feeling as if they were about to fall off.
"Uh how do you get this thing to work," Didyme said slightly quieter then a shout as she held the phone, I'm guessing she doesn't know how to use one.
"Here Di, first off your holding it upside down," I told her and Immediately she froze and turned to face me.
"You called me Di?" She asked sounding as if she was about to cry. I guess I had, I hadn't even thought about it actually.
"Um ye well, um you need to turn the phone around then, just go on that app there, then click the name you want to call," I instructed her on how to use the phone, then two seconds later she had finished her call.
"So who did you call?" I asked and she just smirked at me, "You'll see." To minutes passed and then Demetri and Felix were standing in front of us.
"Hello Victorian boys," I said in greeting to them both as they both gave me a high five each.
"Demetri Felix could you both please take the bags back to the castle and place them in Ana's room," Didyme instructed them and they both saluted in a playful manner, and then they were gone, leaving Didyme with only her dress and the stuff I bought for Jane, and yes Sulpicia and Athenodora, I would have felt bad if I hadn't gotten them anything.
After the guys had left, me and didyme spent a little while longer just walking around chatting. Half an hour later, and we both heading back for the car. Then another twenty minutes of talking and laughing we were back at the castle.
"Thanks for taking out shopping today Didyme, I had an incredible time with you," It was one of the best days I've had in a longtime, and it almost felt like a massive weight had been lifted off of my shoulders, and I could just breathe and relax.
"Your welcome Ana, I had a lovely time to," she paused a minute as she returned the car keys, and then leaving the garage. "So was the calling me Di, a one time offer," She asked nudging me in the side, as we walked aimlessly around the corridors.
"Maybe, maybe not you'll have to wait and see," I spoke mischievously as I began to ran off down the corridor, "Try and catch!" I shouted back at her as I began to laugh.
I was running as fast as I could and still didyme hadn't caught me yet, probably because she was giving me a head, WOH! "I caught you, you little mischief!" Didyme shouted as she picked me up and twirled me around in the air, my hair going all over the place.
"Put me down," I protested giggling, "NEVER!"
I couldn't help but erupt into a fit of loud genuine laughter, as I smiled as wide as I possibly could, Didyme kept twirling around with my held tight in the air, and I just couldn't stop laughing, and neither could she. Her smile was so bright she could have lit up the darkest of rooms.
Didyme had finally stopped twirling us both around, and started to gently place me back on my feet. As soon as my feet made contact with the ground I stumbled slightly I tried to calm down both my laughter and breathing.
As I got back up from my stumble I looked at Didyme who was crouched down ever so slightly, laughing just as hard as I was. I had finally caught my breath and stopped laughing, but I couldn't stop smiling nor could Didyme.
Didyme walked closer to me and came over and gave me a tight hug, which I accept without a second thought.
