Cameron and I walked into a tent where medical kits and people waited. We fell asleep waiting for them to help us. When we woke up, they told me I had a concussion and that 'I'm lucky' for surviving this. If only it were that easy. I watched many people die and I couldn't save them. We let them die, Clarke let them die.

"Hey. Watcha thinking about?" Cam asks. I look over to see his eyes light up when I look at him. I don't answer him for a while. I didn't know how to explain that all I saw when I closed my eyes was fire.

"Nothing." I reply. He notices my monotone voice and inches closer to me, putting his hand on my leg.

"We're okay now." He affirms. I nod my head and get up. Shaking the weird feeling that rose in my stomach. I walk out of the tent and Cameron follows. It's light out at this point. We hear commotion from around the camp. We look up and see the flare and Clarke and Lexa run up beside us.

"Bellamy did it." Clarke announced. Her smile talking up half her face. But at what cost? She said she let the grounder village get attacked for Bellamy. What does that even mean?

"You were right to have faith in him." Lexa stated. Her smile now taking up half her face.

"Woah, woah, woah. What the hell is going on here?" Cameron ass pointing to Clarke and Lexa. They look at eachother confused then back to Cam. "Lexa I have never seen you this happy. Wait you guys aren't... you know.."

"Banging?" I blurt out. Clarke's face turns red and Lexa turns away. "No fucking way. Damn Clarke taking all the hot ones." I giggle. She shoves me laughing and Cam and I walk away, letting Clarke and Lexa lead the people again.

Shortly after, we hear a loud horn sound throughout the forest. Cam and I look at each other with excitement, and a little fear. Mostly me though. I'm just worried about Bellamy.

We are all walking towards war.

Like actual war. I've read about war before, seen movies on it. But now it's actual real life war. For me at least. This just seems all too surreal. Also why are we walking? Like won't we get tired? I'm already tired.

"Hey so you don't like Bellamy anymore do you?" Octavia whispers running up beside me. I quickly snap my head at her, she's eagerly waiting for my response. "I mean you clearly like Cameron."

"Wait what? How? I never liked Bellamy. Nor do I like Cameron. Octavia quit pulling shit out of your ass." I roll my eyes and walk faster, the leaves and sticks crunching louder under my feet.

"No. No Lincoln told me. He said that you and Bellamy had chemistry or something. I disagreed with him but he convinced me. And now I'm seeing the same thing with Cameron. I'm not mad I just want to know if you like Cam?" She argued. She was very determined on getting my confirmation. I couldn't give that to her. I definitely have feelings for Bellamy but I've never thought of Cam this way.

"I don't know Octavia maybe ask Lincoln." I tease. She rolls her eyes and laughs.

"Also. On a completely different note, how is Clarke alive? I mean I saw her in TonDC right before the blast. She had not one scratch on her." Octavia claims.

"She knew. She knew about the missile." I declared. Octavia had no reaction, she knew but she clearly just wanted confirmation. Then Indra came up beside us and I let her talk to Octavia. I speed up again and meet up with Cameron.

"Hey!" He grinned. "Ok so I was talking to Lexa and guess what? Her and Clarke are like a thing now."

"Shut up!" I squeal. "She got Finn and now she gets Lexa? This is literally not fair."

"Hey don't be jealous you are best friends with the better sibling." He jokes, elbowing me. I shove him back.

"I might be rethinking my choices." I laugh. He's not very amused at this.

"Haha very funny. You know I'm better right. I totally could have beat her in night blood training but I couldn't hurt her." He commented. Night blood training?

"What in the hell are you talking about?"

"Oh right. Well night blood is a blood that only few people have. We don't know how but we literally have black blood, we fight and kill, winner is commander. They allowed me to 'step down' because I wouldn't kill her."

"Okay but why is night blood such a big deal? Why can't anyone become commander."

"The flame. It only works for night blood. It carries the minds of past commanders. It goes in the back of your neck and connects to your brain."

"That's not possible- how could a chip- holy shit." I pause. Cam looks at me confused.

"Raven told me about the technology of the past. I got really interested, like to the point where I hacked into the ark system to learn more of Becca's past. I couldn't get very far but all I know is that she had black blood. She created a chip."

"Who the fuck is Becca and why does that matter?" Cam asks.

"She's- you know it doesn't really matter."

We stop and plan our attack a few miles away from Mount Weather. Clarke laid out the plan and Lexa made sure Cameron and I were 'away from trouble'. They placed us at the back of group 4. The most boring job, sit and wait. Lincoln was going to be with us.

We arrived at Mount weather, locked and loaded. I'm going to be honest I had no idea what was going on. They drilled into the giant ass door leading to Mount Weather.

"So what exactly is happening." I whisper to Cameron. He giggles which causes Lexa to snap her head over to Cameron, she looked mad. He immediately stopped.

"I wasn't paying attention. I was hoping you would know." He grinned. I bite my lip to conceal my laugh. Lincoln walks past us and we watch as Miller's dad puts something in the hole that we just drilled.

"That's what she said." I whisper. Cameron whips his hand up to his facing, making a snaking noise to cover his laughter. Lexa doesn't even look this time, but you could tell she was very annoyed. I look over and see the sun starting to set. We had been here for hours by now, waiting.

Waiting...

Waiting for a ticking time bomb to finally blow.

It was dark out now.

Waiting.

"It's taking too long." Clarke faltered.

"It takes as long as it takes." Lexa replies confidently.

"Ya no shit." I mumble under my breath. Cam was the only one who heard me and he laughs a bit. I guess we are just in a silly goofy mood. (Sorry)

We slowly back away from the crowd while Lexa and Clarke are in a conversation. One of Lexa's guards stop us. The shake their heads and walk us back to Lexa and Clarke. It was worth a shot. We hear gunfire echoing from the trees.

"It's coming from the dam." Lincoln announced as he walked up to us. Everyone looks up at the mountain worried.

"They know we're going for the power." Clarke declared.

"They know we're going for the door." Lexa rebuttals.

Everyone stands around arguing for a bit until the lights on the door flicker and finally shut off.

"She did it." Clarke smiles.

"One minute starting now." Miller's dad announced. Clarke and Lexa look down at the button, the detonator. They lift it and press it together. Big blow. Never mind. The button didn't work.

"They're jamming us." I observed. I grab the detonator from Clarke and get closer to the door. Immediately guns fire from the mountain. Cameron grabs me and pulls me back behind the rock.

45 seconds.

"Flank the shooters go." I hear Lexa say in her language. Now this was a war.

"I can get there." I argue to Clarke, Lexa and Cam.

"No you can't you'll die." Clarke hissed.

"It's worth a shot." I huffed.

30 seconds.

"I'll do it. For Nate please." Miller's dad insisted. I gave him the detonator and Lexa told guards to make a wall and to take him to the door. They make a wall with steel they must have found somewhere. They walked him all the way to the door. We watch as one of the guards fall, another and another.

"We need to find another way in." Lexa shouted.

"There is no other way in!" Clarke snapped.

"We don't need one." Lincoln

10 seconds.

Lincoln lights an arrow on fire and aims it at the door.

5 seconds.

4 seconds.

3 seconds.

He shoots.

"Damn Lincoln, bullseye." I hollered. He turns to me and smiles.

"That one was for you Avery." He chuckled.

"It worked." Clarke cries

"We need to get to that ridge and take out the shooters." Lexa asserted. Lincoln immediately jumps up. "No! You stay with Clarke, Cam and Avery. When the shooting stops you get that door open." She instructed. Clarke and Lincoln nod.

We lay behind the rock for what seems like forever until the battleground becomes quiet.

"Lexa did it." Lincoln announced.

We see Miller's dad push the heavy steal off of him. He's alive? Damn okay.

"They'll be waiting just inside the door." Clarke says.

"Good." Lincoln assured.

Cameron and I were still laying behind the rock. Clarke told us to stay put. I look at him and he's just picking grass from the ground.

"Are you seriously bored? We are in the middle of a war and you are bored." I laughs. He looks over to me and smiles.

"Hey I'm sorry we have no jobs." He rolls his eyes and continues to pick grass.

"Let's make some." I insist. I get up and wipe the grass from my pants. He looks up and me and shakes his head no.

"You are going to get me killed. Go by yourself." He quipped. I step over his back, or step on his back. "Ow you bitch." He jumps up. "What do you think we're going to do huh?"

"Help. Help save Bellamy?" I nagged. He crosses his arms. We watch as they pull open the door. Cheering erupts from our people.

"Attack now!" Clarke yells.

"Stand down!" We hear Lexa shout in Trigedasleng. Everyone silences. Lexa pulls up with someone from Mount weather.

"What the hell? You waited all this time for this. Fuck you guys." I spit. Cam covers my mouth before I could continue. A ton of injured people come out from the door. They wore all while bandages. Tortured. You could see it in their eyes.

"They're surrendering?" Clarke asks.

"Not quite." The man objects. Who tf? I turn back to the door and notice I don't recognize anyone.

"What did you do?" Clarke whispers. She already knew.

"What you would have done. Saved my people" Lexa seethed. Cameron finally removes his hand, he was in shock too.

"You little snake!" I jump to attack Lexa but Cameron holds me back.

"Where are my people?" Clarke asks. Again, she already knew.

"I'm sorry Clarke, and Avery." She paused. "They weren't part of the deal." Lexa pulls out a knife and cuts the man lose, I didn't even notice he was tied up.

"You made the right choice, commander." He mentions. He turns and walks towards the door. Clarke still looks at Lexa confused. She knew what was happening I just don't think she was expecting it. I wasn't either but my first reaction was anger so.

"What is this." I hear Lincoln step up.

"She made a deal with the devil." I spit. I was still squirming in Cameron's arms.

"What about the prisoners from the ark?" Lincoln asks.

"They'll all be killed." Clarke pauses. "But you don't care about that do you?"

"I do care, Clarke, but I made this choice with my head and not my heart. The duty to protect my people comes first." Lexa argued. I finally stop moving. My window of opportunity to attack Lexa had closed. But the door of the mountain was open. It began to move. I quickly slip away from the group and run into the mountain.

"Avery!" Clarke shouts. The door sealed shut.

The hall was empty. I run quickly and quietly trying not to get caught. The halls we pretty big, not too narrow. The were white. There were no signs so I had no clue where I was going. I made a couple left, a few rights.

Nothing.

I was alone in a giant mountain.

Shit.
