It was early in the morning when Error woke up on his beanbag. He stretched and gave a pleased grunt. His blurry vision began to clear as he sat up. "Dawn?" He called to his smaller friend.
"Oh, you're awake." He heard a familiar deep voice say. That wasn't Dawn.
Error's sockets shot open as he stared up at Nightmare. The dark, gooey skeleton stood over him with a slight smile, but the smile quickly disappeared. "I know you don't like being touched but, Do you need help standing?" He asked shyly as he held out his hand to take. Error blinked a few times. He stood up on his own.
"No, I'm fine..." Error stated as he gathered his things. Nightmare backed up to give Error room. "Alright." He sighed. Error glanced at the other before continuing. "I assume you're here to take me home..." Nightmare nodded.
He turned towards the decorations. "I like your shed. Is this the Dawn fellow?" Nightmare asks while pointing to a photo. Error sighed, looking back at the photo. "Yeah" He couldn't help but smile. The guy had let Error rant to him, then he had let Error sleep on his lap, he was such a sweetheart. "Where is he anyway?" The glitchy skeleton had turned away to hide his blush. But Nightmare had seen.
"He left." Nightmare hissed. Error huffed as he headed towards the door. "I don't blame him, you'd scare away anybody who saw you." he said while grabbing his glasses. Nightmare sighed quietly, he tried not to let Error's words hurt him. "Not you though." That sentence made the destroyer pause. Nightmare continued. "You weren't scared when we met, even after I attacked you heh" Nightmare chuckled. Error rolled his eyelights "I didn't know you."
"You saved me though. From Ink... Why was that?" The negative skeleton asked. Error held all of his belongings in his arms. "You were in an original Au, I didn't want you and your gang to create more useless timelines. So I stopped you guys and Ink before you caused a drastic change." Error glared at Nightmare "Is that all?" He asked in a bored tone. Nightmare narrowed his sockets at the destroyer. Error opened a portal and left.
The goopy skeleton growled. "Why is he being so stubborn?" Nightmare slouched against a tree.
Why was he acting so nice towards him? Why did he even care what Error thought of him? He was going to betray him sooner or later. As long as Error still worked with him, his plan was still in motion. He couldn't let Error sway him.
If Error didn't like nice Nightmare, then fine, no more nice Nightmare. No more listening to his feelings. These feelings for Error were gonna have to stop at some point, right? He could wait.
Error then walked back in. "I forgot my scarf." Error said as he walked into the shed, grabbed his scarf, and walked back to his portal. "Oh- okay, bye" Nightmare said sheepishly, his face instantly flushing. Error left, not even glancing in his direction. "Damnit!" The simp growled. "This'll be harder than I thought."
"What will be?" A familiar voice asked as it made its way over to Nightmare. Lust stood above the slouching skeleton with an interested look. Nightmare groaned as he recognized the flirty skeleton. "None of your business. How'd you even get here?" Lust sat next to the gooey skeleton, who only scooched away.
"Still horny for ya co-worker?" Lust asked, bluntly. Dodging the question. He slightly leaned on the larger skeleton. Nightmare's face flushed with teal. He pushed Lust away with his tentacle. "I was never horny-"
"Who is it?" Lust interrupted. Nightmare's face grew hotter and hotter by the second. "I'm not spilling my business to the likes of you!" Lust smirked "You did a few days ago~" He sneered. Nightmare growled. "That's because Horror trusted you and I needed advice. Now f*ck off!" He shouted as his patience grew thin.
The purple-coated skeleton only got closer. The guardian was basically being pinned to the tree by Lust at this point. "Darling, we can talk about f*cking later~ But right now I want you to tell me who your secret crush is!" Lust purred while poking Nightmare's slimy chest. Nightmare sighed, he pushed the flirty skeleton off of himself.
Lust sat himself up and brushed off his clothes. The simp cleared his throat. "it's error..." he mumbled. "I'm sorry. What?" Lust asked for a repeat. Nightmare buried his blushing face into his sweater. "It's Error" He said a little louder, but still whispering as if the glitchy skeleton could pop up any second.
Lust placed his hands over his mouth. "REALLY!?" He squealed. Nightmare wrapped his tendril around Lust's mouth. "Quiet down you piece of sh*t!" He hissed. Lust was released but he never got quiet. "I knew it! Horror owes me twenty bucks!" Nightmare sighed, slouching back onto the tree. Lust noticed his depressed demeanor and sat next to him once again.
"Why the long face? You scared to tell him?" Lust asked, sympathetically. But Nightmare could feel the slight mockery in his voice.
Nightmare rolled his eyelight. "No, It's just... I'm not supposed to like him, these feelings are getting in the way of my true goal. I actually can't stand the guy but somehow I find myself blushing every time he's around." Lust frowned at Nightmare's words. "Well, that's not going to be a healthy relationship..." the purple-coated skeleton tapped his chin. Nightmare stammered over his words "Are you not listening!? We're not going to be in any relationship!" Lust stood up and faced him. "Not with that attitude! You need to be more open and expressive!" Nightmare sighed in defeat.
"Listen, you two just need a couple of shoves in the right direction." Lust clasped his hands. The dark skeleton raised a bone brow. "What the hell does that mean?" He asked glaring at Lust. "You know, like series of situations where you two get to know each other. Like being stranded or locked in a room together~" Lust smiled devilishly. Nightmare kinda liked the idea but shook his head. "One, we can teleport. Two, Error hates me, and Three I told you I don't want a relationship!" He argued. Lust got quiet. "I'm ignoring these stupid, useless feelings until they go away! I don't need you, I don't need him, I don't need anybody!" Nightmare stood to his feet and turned away.
Lust frowned at the dark skeleton "Good luck with all that... I may not know much about you or Error but I do know that ignoring your emotions now will only cause them to burst later." Nightmare of all people already knew that, but he was determined to ignore his feelings. He didn't say anything, he kept his back turned. Lust smiled a little as he began to walk away. Nightmare formed into a puddle and left.
-Nightmare's POV-
I ripped my pillow in half as I huffed. "That nosey idiot, always shoving his face in other people's business!" I tried my best to keep it down, as it was around 6'o'clock in the morning and I didn't want to wake the gang. I paced my room as my tendrils waved threateningly. I needed to calm down. I instantly thought of water and started heading to the kitchen.
I head out of my room and towards the stairs. I was still thinking to myself and didn't notice someone coming up. I ran straight into Error causing him to drop his popcorn and chocolate bar. He almost tumbled backward and down the stairs, but I wrapped my arms around his waist, holding him steady. He held his sockets shut and wrapped his arms around my neck. I pull him away from the edge, sighing in relief as I did. Error on the other hand wasn't relieved but was pissed.
Error shoved me off of himself "Damnit Nightmare, watch where you're going!" He whisper-shouted as he glitched. Right, the Haphephobia. He didn't seem to care when Dawn hugged and slept with him.
He calmed himself, then glared at me before he bent down and picked up his chocolate and spilled popcorn. I bent down to help him pick it up.
I couldn't help but notice, Error wasn't wearing his normal clothing, he wore a red robe, black sweatpants, and yellow bunny slippers. Because of the incident that had just occurred, his robe was slightly falling off, showing his multicolored bones. Which brought me back to yesterday, when he wore no shirt and pinned me. I blushed slightly at the thought. "Error," I received an uninterested "huh" in response. "I- uh" I was going to apologize but then paused.
"Good job on taking out the Star Sanses yesterday..." I said, lamely. I placed the rest of the popcorn back in its box. Error gazed at me before standing up. "Uh, thanks Nightmare, um, I gotta throw this away" He gestured to the box filled with dirty popcorn. "See ya later." He said before walking back downstairs. I sighed as I stood straight up.
This ignoring my emotions plan was seriously gonna be harder than I thought.
