Damn you all love angst as much as I do... I've found my true people ig ;) here's a very highly requested part 2 and should I do more angst stories bc you all seem to like them so much?
But I have no idea how to write angst so this'll be really bad.
"James...there is no us.Not anymore. I've moved on. And I'm not falling back into the trap, okay? That ring was never meant for me... it was always meant for Lily."
THE OTHER GIRL
"Hey, darling."
You looked up and smiled, pecking his lips, "Hey, love."
No, this was not what it looked like... this was no longer James.
It had been a long time since you left James. A few months after, you had moved on. Then it was summer and your parents had invited a new wizarding family. The boy, who was your age, was starting Hogwarts with you.
And despite the fact it was only nearly a year since you broke up with James, you and the boy, Derek (idk just go with it ig, I'm running low on names to use in my stories), had managed to find yourself falling in love.
He was perferct- he made you laugh, he was smart, kind, amazing, and goddamn hot.
As of the current moment, you two were sitting in a compartment on your way to Hogwarts.
You were both starting seventh year.
Derek took your hand, "So, is Hogwarts nice?"
You grinned, "Oh, it's the best! It-"
You stopped talking when something outside the compartment got your attention. You looked outside and saw the four Marauders walking past. They seemed to be looking for a compartment themselves so, naturally, looked into yours to see if it was free, which it clearly wasn't.
You made eye contact with James who was staring at you, shocked.
The other boys were looking at you too- they all waved besides James (uhm ecscyoose em mwa bitch tf?! WAVE AT ME 😤🙄✋ )
James looked between you and the boy and you failed to notice the heartbroken look on his face.
You waved to the others before they moved away and you continued talking to Derek.

A few months into the year and you were in the courtyard, reading while your head rested on Derek's shoulder as he played with your hair.
Suddenly he cleared his throat and you looked at him with a raised brow.
"What?"
"I, uhm, have something I want to give you," he scratched the back of his neck.
He pulled a small velvet box out of his pocket and opened it.
Inside you saw a beautiful ring...a ring you thought you had seen before.
"Love, this is a promise ring. I want you to know that I'll always love you... no matter what and regardless of what happens."
He slipped it on your finger and you gasped.
This was the exact same ring James had given you a couple of years ago.
"I'll always love you," James had said, kissing your hand after he placed the ring on your finger.
You kissed Derek as his arms wrapped around your waist, pulling you closer.
You didn't see James watching from afar, holding back tears as he saw the one he loved, love someone else.
But he knew he had no right to say that. He knew he had no right to say that when he put you in the same position.

A few more months had passed by and after more than a year, James was walking up to you...to talk to you for the first time in forever. (f R o Z e N... istg my random a/n's in the stories ruin the whole thing lmfaooo 😩😩😩)
Derek cleared his throat to get your attention before nodding towards James.
You looked at James and he looked at you. When he arrived to where you were you just looked at him.
"James..."
"Uh...hi," he said anxiously.
"Hey," you said, not really knowing what to say or do. You didn't realise how awkward it would be.
"Can I, uhm, talk to you...uh, outside?" he asked nervously.
You nodded, "Sure."

As soon as you were outside James frowned, "Who the hell is that?"
"Who? Derek? You've sat next to him in Transifguration since the beginining of the year!" you spoke, confused.
"Do you...do you love him?" he looked to the ground.
"Yes... I do."
"What about me?" he asked sadly, "What happened to us?"
You scoffed sadly, "James...there is no us. Not anymore. I've moved on. And I'm not falling back into the trap, okay? That ring was never meant for me... it was always meant for Lily."
"But..." James trailed off before starting a new senetence, "Do you still love me?"
"James, you can't just- I- you- we," you sighed, staring at the floor, "I don't know. I guess a part of me will always love you. But I have to hide that part and forget about it."
A tear rolled down James' face as he whispered, "What? Why?"
"Because I'm not doing the same thing you did to me to Derek. I got over you, James!" you laughed humourlessly, "I finally got over you and I'm not going back! I'm not loving Derek while willingly knowing I love you. I've gotten over you and although there's always gonna be a part of me that loves you, I'm going to forget about it because it is not fair on Derek."
You were now crying lightly, as was James, who stepped forward, "I understand. I..."
He sighed, "I still love you-"
"I know," you smiled lightly, holding his hand, "But you need to stop. You and Lily are the ones that are meant to be. Lily can love you- I know she can!"
James looked at you, heartbroken.
"James, listen," you sighed, "At the end of the day, it was always meant to be you and Lily...not us...there is no more us."
James' voice broke as he spoke, "But do you not remember what I said?"
You sighed. Of course you bloody did. It's the words that broke you.
James repeated it again, "I'll always love you."
"James..."
He nodded and stared at you as you did the same to him before you spoke again, "If I can do it... so can you."
He nodded again before gently taking your hand with the ring on it and looking at the ring.
"Promise ring, huh? It's the same one I got you."
You placed your free hand on his, "It's the same one I shouldn't have ever had...but Lily needs."
James still held your hand delicately and kissed your cheek, "Then I promise you one thing- I'll get over you... and I won't break that promise..."
"That's good-"
"But I'll also make sure to never...never break the promise I made to you those years ago-"
He lifted your chin up with two of his fingers so that you were looking at him, "I'll always love you."
He whispered it as you continued to look at him.
"I'll always love you, Scarlett. No matter, how deep down it is and how much I forget about it... I'll always love you."
He bet down and kissed your cheek, before you smiled lightly and let go of his hands, muttering the last thing you said to him that year ago.
"See you later, Potter."
As soon as you were out of sight, James let out a sob, heart torn into a million pieces- but you were right.
You heard James cry once you were away and all you wanted was to go and comfort him...but you couldn't. You couldn't fall back into the trap you so desperately had made yourself climb out of.
What would Dumbledore say in this type of situation?
It's hard to turn the page when you know someone won't be in the next chapter- but the story must go on.
And that's exactly what you and James were doing...starting a new chapter and forming a light at the end of your tunnel.

This is so bad 💀 I have no idea how to write angst so this is s h i t t y but nothing I can do.
And some wanted a happy ending with her moving on but I feel like an angst should never really have a super happy ending bc...well...it's an angst- but I did do something where she mvoed on so yuhhh
And it was my last day of school today before summer so love that asghefedew
