Chapter 40 - Its just something to help me sleep...

There is still no news about Harper and Kelly has
just arrived home.
"The kids are asleep" Gabby adds
"Great thanks Dawson" Kelly says as he gives her a kiss on the cheek
Gabby gathers up her stuff and Kelly walks to the kitchen. He digs out Harper's antibiotics from a while ago that she has a repeat prescription from. He pops 2 and swallows them
"Feeling okay?" Gabby asks
"Uhh yeah! Sleeping pills!" Kelly adds hiding the box
"Okay, Goodnight Severide" Gabby says before walking out
"Yeah goodnight" Kelly says as he looks at the box
It's a week later and Harper has woken up. Kelly is still on the antibiotics. Harper is getting released and Dawson is driving her home
"When are you planning on coming back?" Dawson asks
"Next week hopefully, I feel fine just bummed about Kelly though" Harper adds
"He'll come round. Just watch him" Dawson says as they pull up into Harper's driveway
They walk in and Kelly is standing looking rough
"Hey!" Kelly says smiling
"Hey honey" Harper says as Kelly pulls her in for a hug
Dawson sneaks away and Harper pulls away and looks at Kelly's pupils
"Everything okay?" Harper asks
"Yeah! Why wouldn't it be!" Kelly says happily
"Let's get you to bed" Kelly says as he helps Harper up the stairs
Another week has gone by and Harper has been cleared for shift. Kelly has been getting worse. He's always tired and on edge. Harper has noticed her prescription going down
"You ready Kelly?" Harper shouts
"Yeah" Kelly says as he grabs his car keys
"I'm driving" Harper says as she grabs his keys
Harper walks out so that Kelly can't say anything and drives them to the firehouse. Everyone cheers when harper walks in
"It's great to have you back kid" Herrmann says as he gives her a hug
Harper is talking to Dawson when she notices that Kelly has disappeared
"Hey Casey?" Harper asks as Casey looks up from his newspaper
"What's up?" Casey asks
"Did you see where Kelly went?" Harper asks worried
"Uhh bathroom I think" Casey says smiling
"Great" Harper replies
Harper walks to the bathroom and peers in the door. She can see Kelly popping a couple of pills and sighing of relief
"Hey babe" Harper says as she walks in
"Hey!" Kelly says as he panics and hides the packets
"Is everything okay?" Harper asks as she sits next to the sink
"Yeah! Everything's great!" Kelly says smiling nervously
"You would tell me though? You know the whole trained paramedic thing doesn't change, I can tell when somethings going on" Harper adds as Kelly looks at her nervously
"Like i said everything's fine!" Kelly says as he leaves in a hurry...
