Tapping your foot nervously, your mind went into overdrive thinking you were in trouble for botching up a surgery. That was the only rational explanation as to why you would be called in.

"You may go through now Dr S/n" The assistant ushered.

With sweaty hands, you opened the door and saw your boss, aka the head surgeon sitting on his chair.

"You wanted to see me?" You nervously spoke.

"Yes, good morning Dr S/n."

Sitting down on the edge of chair to express your nervousness and discomfort, your boss smiled assuringly to you.

"Please don't be scared you are not in trouble. In fact I actually wanted to tell you that you have passed the surgeon's test."

Arching your eyebrow in confusion, "Passed the surgeon's test?"

"You see, the reason why you have been over working under insane hours is because I wanted to see if you were cut out to be a surgeon. Only those who can handle the pressure and lack of sleep but still function make the cut, and you did! So congratulations for that. To make up for all lost hours, please take the week off and from now on you will be following a roster. You'll only be performing surgeries if needed too, during the morning. 07:00 to 13:00. After that your shift ends and another doctor will do your rounds or take over the surgery."

"Wait what?" You mistakenly interrupted.

"And please don't worry about your salary. You will still be getting paid your normal amount plus the additionals per surgery." Your boss lastly added.

"I don't understand. Uh.. I don't know what to say. Is this normal here?" You enquired suspiciously.

"Well for doctors that have families, we allow their hours to be more flexible so you don't miss out on their lives." He sincerely stated to knock you off your suspicion.

Remaining quiet but glaring at your boss, you couldn't help but feel something was off. Of course you were ecstatic you can finally take a break, but your instinct was bothering you.

Did they not want you around often because you messed up a surgery and they don't want to tell you? Was someone else stealing your patients to make more money? Or do these people truly care about family time?

"Well, that's all I have to say. Please enjoy the rest of your day! I'll see you next week fresh and early." He commented, hinting for you to take your departure.

"R-right, sorry. Thank you." You curtly replied, closing the door behind you.

A few seconds after the door was closed and your footsteps grew distant, Hisoka appeared from the insuite office bathroom.

"Good. Dare you make her work over time again I'll take care of you personally. Are we clear?" He emotionlessly threatened.

Gulping dryly with beaded sweat fast approachingly forming on his forehead. He nodded in agreement. Too scared to talk to the infamous  Hisoka everyone knew and feared but loved in this city.

Not really knowing what to do with yourself now, you headed home for a quick nap till 12. Who would of thought a few hours of sleep could make you feel like a brand new person. Dressing up a bit, you headed to the mall to get some shopping done.

You knew you haven't been giving much or any attention to Maleeka, not that you purposely did so. It was just impossible to leave work without the fear of losing your job.

Gathering up several groceries in the trolley for a big and tasteful supper you were going to cook for her, you made another pit stop to Toy Kingdom to buy the toys you know she has been secretly eyeing out but refused to ask you for it.

Heading back you started cooking until it was time to pick Maleeka up. Taking the pot off the stove to continue later you headed out.

"Mummy!" She screamed as you noticed how her face lit up like a Christmas tree at the sight of seeing you sitting on the bench waiting for her.

"You made it to pick me up on time!" She innocently yelled again while hugging you tightly.

Hearing how happy she said something like that made you wonder how deeply affected she was by your absence.

"And I will always be! My boss cut my hours down imagine that? God is always looking out for us ain't he!" You replied, hugging her tighter.

Pulling back and looking up at her mother, Maleeka knew who was behind all of this, but she promised she wouldn't let her know about Hisoka.

'I guess Hisoka comes from God, so technically mummy is right.' She mentally convinced herself.

"Yes he is!" She acknowledged out aloud.

"Come let's go home, food will almost be ready and I got you a few presents to say how sorry I am for not spending time with you."

"Ah mum, you shouldn't have gotten me anything. I understand you had to work." The young girl spoke far beyond her years of understanding.

"Oh those presents at home are just the start. The real present is tomorrow." You wriggled your eyebrows in a sus manner.

"You can't say that and not give me a clue!" She whined.

"I can do whatever I want because I am your motherrrrrr~" You sang.

After eating, you suggested that today was a lovely day to be outside and play or merely just spend time together - showing more of the neighbourhood to her.

Since it's been awhile you two dressed the same, you decided too today.

White oversized Adidas jersey that had the phrase 'Happiness is with her' printed at the back in black. Matched with blue denim skinny jeans and white - black striped Adidas shoes.

To complete the matching look, both of you had two space bun hairstyles and black half cut gloves.

"I like your drip missy" You placed your hands on your hips and nodded down at her.

"I like your drip too ma'am." Maleeka vibed back, causing the both of you to giggle.

"Can we carry our skateboards mum?"

Arching your one eyebrow, "Ah, you remember how to skate?"

"Mom I'm a pro!" She bashfully replied.

Lifting your hands up in defeat, you nodded your head. "Okay, okay we can carry it. We can ride later on through the sunset what you say?"

"Deal! We going to take lots of pictures too?!"

"Of course missy what do you think! You and I are looking so amazing today - we  have too!"

Strolling down the neighborhood you and Maleeka ended up synchronized dancing and singing with each other to the music you were blasting from the mini speaker in your backpack.

And no, it wasn't childish nursing rhythms, you and were were vibing to the clean versions of hip hop and rap songs. Your daughter was definitely your twin.

Making another pit stop at the toy shop, you ended up buying nurf guns to shoot each other across the park and street.

Outsiders looking in, all one could see was joyful screams, laughter and running around between sisters, but no. It was actually mother and daughter being crazy together.

"Mommmmmm! Time out, time out!" Maleeka tried to speak through her laughter while she was under a tickle attack from you.

"Whattttttt? Time out? Weak!" You jeered as you backed up.

With her crazed laughter dying down to light giggles, "Snack break! I'm feeling for nachos." Your daughter said.

"Mm nachos huh? Follow me! There's a place not far from here."

Sweet old Blue Lane was still up and running after all these years. The place you met Hisoka that first night.

"Hey there! Can we please have one large plate of nachos. Extra avo. Baby what you want to drink?" You averted your gaze back to her.

"Tropical sunset!"

Chuckling lightly, you looked down at her menu. "You only want that juice because it looks nice in the picture huh?" You exposed her.

"Don't it look good though mum!?" She defended.

Smiling warmingly, "Two tropical sunsets please." You added.

"So missy."

Just as you were about to talk, you heard two very familiar voices call out your name.

"Oh my god Grimmjow!" You immediately jumped off your seat to hug the once bratty blue haired man.

"Holy shit Y/n it's been so damn long!" He squeezed you back.

"Orihime told me you were back but damn, seeing you in person is amazing."

Not forgetting to hug Orihime, you ushered them to sit with you for a bit.

"Ah Grimmjow. It's amazing seeing you too. Maleeka, these two were my friends 7 years ago. Grimmjow and Orihime." You introduced.

"Hello! Hm, you are very pretty miss, but you, you look like a dodgy boy." Maleeka innocently but bluntly stated.

All three adults chuckling, "Oh damn she definitely learnt that cheek from you huh Y/n?" Grimmjow remarked.

"So this is her..?" Grimmjow said in a much nostalgic but bitter sweet manner.

Smiling distantly at him you nodded, "That's her. Uncanny isn't she? " You quietly replied referring to how smilair she looks to Hisoka in terms of eyes and hair. No point in denying it anymore because people would keep bringing it up.

"It's like I'm looking at a female baby version of him. But she definitely has your facial features thank God. I can't imagine an intimidating and scary looking child." Grimmjow said.

"Hey don't speak in riddles in front of me!" Maleeka butted in before you could reply.

Grinning bashfully at her from exposure, you pinched her cheeks. "Sorry my love. We just talking about how amazing you look!"

"Hm, I do look amazing don't I?" She unapologetically complimented, causing them to lightly laugh again.

"Hell yeah you do." You vibed back and reached out for a highfive. You swore to be the parent every kid dreams of. To be better than the parents you had. To be better than any neglectful parent.

"You and Maleeka have be to the coolest mother and daughter duo I've ever seen." Orihime praised.

"Well, I'm still young myself. I guess we both growing up together." You replied, giving Maleeka a wink.

"Mom you like 25 that's not young." She commented.

Gasping in shock, you took your nurf that was on the table and shot her shoulder.

"Ow mom! That hurt!" She whined while rubbing her shoulder.

"Well don't ever call your mother old again! I still look 18!" You remarked back.

Supressing her giggle, Maleeka merely noded in agreement.

"I just witnessed a mother nurf her child. Damn." Grimmjow couldn't help but snigger at Maleeka getting shot.

"Hey don't laugh at me! Otherwise you are next mister!" Maleeka pointed her gun at Grimmjow.

"I mean no harm." Grimmjow lifted his hands up in the air in defeat.

"Hmmm." She hummed in approval.

"Anyways we won't intrude. Enjoy your mother and daughter bonding time. It was really good seeing you Y/n. We should hang out sometime when you are free. " Grimmjow gave you another hug before leaving.

"Bye Y/n and Maleeka!" Orihime waved.

Spending another hour or so eating and chatting away, you paid for the bill and headed back out.

Skating down the gentle hill, you stopped when Maleeka asked you whose mansion that belongs too. Cussing yourself for not realizing the road you have been skating down on, you refused to let such memories of him and that house ruin your day.

You would want nothing more than to not ever utter his name again, but if you refused to not let her know who stayed there like you have been doing with everyone else's house, she would grow suspicious. Child or not, Maleeka would pick it up.

"Oh. I don't know if he still lives there, but it belonged to a guy named Hisoka."

The wound, slightly cut open again by the mention of his name.

"Hisoka huh?" She mumbled to herself.

"Come let's keep going missy, unless you can't skate anymore." You teased to change the topic.

"Heh you wish!"

Not far behind you two. Hisoka was actually driving down. Realizing it was you and Maleeka, he cut off his engine and lights and watched from the distance.

The music was loud so it made sense why you were oblivious to his car engine. Not that it was loud anyways, Hisoka's car was smoothly silent.

"Ohhhh baby you are my best friend!" He heard you and Maleeka scream-sing to the song, grinning unbelievably wide while skating in synchronizated curvy waves down the road.

Now holding hands he heard you yell as you crouched down onto the skateboard and managed to hold a kiss on Maleeka's forehead while still moving.

Hisoka was undoubtedly glad that his daughter got her time back with you, but watching the two of you interact for the first time in such a fun manner, he couldn't help but feel envious and sadden by the fact he wasn't apart of it. This was the life he was missing out on.

It was obvious. You learnt to be happy without him. You were clearly happy without him. And it was all his fault, he forced you to learn how to be happy without him in life.

Your world only had Maleeka in it now.

Nor did Maleeka need a father. You were more than enough for her. He could see the amount of love you had for their kid. Enough love to replace a father.

"Hisoka.." Sabastian that was sitting in the passenger seat murmured his name. However Hisoka couldn't hear him. He was too engrossed in the beautiful but painful sight before his eyes.

"I love this song!" Maleeka yelled, jumping off her skateboard.

Coping her, you stepped back and pointed at her. Singing along.

Lifting your arms straight up, you parted your legs and started bopping your hips out with the beat. What made the entire image cuter was that Maleeka was copying you.

From that, to dancing around each other, shimmering in a circular motion and acting crazy together the song finally ended with you on the floor laughing. Laying on the road you stared up at the dark blue-orange sky.

"Ow!" You groaned from the slam of your beloveds body onto yours.

"Mummy I love you." Maleeka happily mentioned.

Smiling at her, you wrapped your arms around her and gently rolled her off you and onto the road.

"Kiss attack!" You yelled before attacking her with constant kisses on her cheeks, forehead and neck.

Giggling uncontrollably and trying to push you away with her tiny hands, you eventually stopped and smiled warmly down at her.

"I love you too my angel." You affectionately said while planting in last tender kiss on her forehead.

"Ooooo girl this is now my song. You think you can keep up? This is both singing and raping hun. " You got up from the road and eyed her down. It was a remix of blood, sweat, tears from BTS and Doja Cat Streets. Obviously censored.

"I knew this day would come!" She yelled back with enthusiasm.

Taking off your jersey, you tied it around your waist. "Oh feeling threatened by me that you getting serious?" Maleeka tested.

Flicking her forehead you grunted in amusement, "You competiton? Psh please darling." You sassed in replied.

Putting the music louder, you faced her but took a few steps back. You loved dancing and singing this song with her because it wasn't random dancing, you and her had to copy the exact dance moves BTS does in the music video.

It was a competition you loved winning, however you will admit she has been becoming accurate with this because of the amount of times you challenged her or played this song.

Since the sun was setting, Hisoka vaguely saw the appearance anymore, but more of two silhouettes dancing. You were singing normally now. It wasn't screaming, but just loud singing.

How long it has been since he last heard your angelic voice. Only until hearing you sing, did Hisoka realize how much he missed hearing your siren like voice echo throughout his mansion. You always hated your slightly deep and raspy voice, but Hisoka completely would get hypnosized by it.

However it wasn't just you anymore, he could hear young girl voice trying to harmonize with yours. Maleeka's. It was unbelievably cute to hear her singing.

"The rap part is coming, you ready babe?" You smugly asked, knowing she probably can't handle it again.

"Bring it on mum!"
And for a six year old, she ate the verse.

Crouching down to her level, you grinned knowing she's had to rap faster, but you were already impressed that she managed to keep up this far.

Nodding your head in encouragment to her, Maleeka continued to rap till the end

'..Cause you're a one in a million
There ain't no man like you"

Springing back up you screamed in celebration. "Oh my god! Maleeka did it! Without a stutter without a fumble she did it." You joyfully yelled while running playfully around, losing your mind. Jesus, you were a hyped mom. No one could deny that.

"You missy, are officaly my twin!"

Getting on your knees in front of her you bowed half way down repeatedly. "The Queen of rap acknowledges you worthy!" You praised.

"C'mon for that you get to relax like royalty." You tapped your shoulders as an indication to sit on them. Climbing up your back and onto your shoulders, Maleeka lifted her hands up in the air like a winner would. "I did it! " She yelled.

Although Hisoka was shocked to see you teaching her how to rap, he couldn't help but smile at how you two behaved around each other.

You and her weren't just mother and daughter.

You two were best friends. Real best friends.

It was so obvious that you and her must of spent countless of hours together everyday if such things like dancing and singing were synchronized so well. It was looking at twins of different ages, or two people joined at the hip.

The bond was so strong no one could miss it. So strong that everyone would be jealous or wished their mother was as cool as you.

Watching you sway side to side on your skateboard into the sunset with Maleeka on your shoulders, Hisoka's smile started to fade simultaneously.

Reality kicked in again. Hard.

For the first time over 20 somewhat years Sabastian has been with Hisoka, today was the first time he ever heard Hisoka confess what he just did. Words that he will never forget from his leader. Words that actually affected him.

"It hurts so much.."

"..It really hurts me Sabastian. " The Joker confessed.

Maybe it was the unbearable pain, or the fact that Hisoka always knew Sabastian was the one friend out of the group he could break down in front of that made him confess such vulnerable feelings. He was the mature one in the group. But either way, acknowledging what he is feeling now instead of living in denial and actually uttering out aloud his feelings was a none existent phenomena.

"It hurts to see them so happy without me. It hurts to be not be apart of their world. It destroyed me when I let her go. It killed me emotionally when I saw her and Maleeka leave that airport 6 years ago. I miss her so much Sabastian. I want nothing more than to go back in time and make better decisions. " Hisoka continued, leaving Sabastian more stunned.

He truly felt terrible for Hisoka. To hear him talk like this for the first time, Sabastian couldn't imagine how much pain he is in.

"Hisoka, it's not too late to be apart of their lives." Sabastian tried to comfort.

"You saw them, they don't need me. They don't need anyone else in their life. Besides.. I don't deserve them anyways. I kicked her out and threatened her that day I found out she was pregnant. She'll never forgive something like that because I don't even forgive myself for doing that. "

"... "

" You can't say they don't need you. Hisoka you spent millions on Yale to take her in. Paid her tuition fees for the 6 years. Gave her an 'allowance' to take care of herself and Maleeka. You assigned men to watch over the two of them. To protect them - which they did. They are alive, well off in life and happy because of you looking after her from afar since day one. Don't say they don't need you. " Sabastian went out of his way to sympathize with his friend.

" I chose this life over them. I had a second chance at the airport that day. But I let them go.. I don't deserve them. I won't be selfish this time and try and involve myself in their life." Hisoka weakly stated.

"Hisoka you were young and influenced by our lifestyle. You thought you were doing the right thing back then." Sabastian tried to knock some sense into him but it was futile.

'I did know what I was doing. I was treating her like trash, knowing she would still love me and come running back if I wanted her too.' Hisoka mentally corrected Sebastian.

"Look.. I know you think everything I'm saying doesn't mean anything to you or make a difference, but you have always been and still are their protector and provider."

"You are her first. She shares a child with you. She lived with you for almost a year. She aided you back to health. She killed for you. I highly doubt she stopped loving you." Oh how that word made his heart ache more.

Love.

Those eyes filled with love for him looking up into his golden orbs.

"No reason is a good enough excuse. Grimmjow married Orihime despite our lifestyle." Hisoka said, clenching his jaw.

"To be fair you are a much bigger target than Grimmjow or any of us. You are the leader. Y/n got shot the second you kissed her in public that day, Orihime isn't on the same firing line. You let them go because you thought it was the best option. If Y/n is the same girl we all know, she won't hold this against you if you explain."Sabastian tried to force some sense into Hisoka who wasn't budging.

"..."

"She doesn't seem like the same y/n we know anymore." Hisoka defended.

"Just leave it Sabastian, it's just my punishment. I deserve it." The old Hisoka switched back. Sabastian could tell by his eyes that he put up his emotionaless wall and stubbornness again. Hisoka wasn't going to share anything further.

Knowing the conversation ended, Sabastian added one more piece of advice before letting it go until he is ready again to talk. "You will never know how things will turn out if you don't try to reach out. but never mind. If the universe plans for the 3 of you to unite an opportunity will arise. It's up to you whether you reject or embrace that opportunity." He stated cryptically.

"This life wasn't worth it.." Sabastian heard Hisoka mumbled under his breath before he started the car again.

The butler couldn't help but wonder whether Hidan was right about Hisoka and you.

That you would be the only reason why Hisoka disbands the mob and leaves this lifestyle for good.

However, even if that does happen, no one has the right to stop him.

Hisoka is allowed to be happy too. They all can't keep relying on Hisoka's leadership to make money.
