𝗇𝗈𝗐 𝗋𝖾𝖺𝖽𝗂𝗇𝗀 ( chapter twenty-six ) 𝗈𝖿
𝘓𝘪𝘮𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦
SUMMER HEAT SEEPED THROUGH her body as she rested on the tiny beach. The Whites holiday home was definitely something she would give her soul to stay at all the time.
On top a little hill rested a house that had a great big window in the living room to see the clear river behind it. The River itself had a sandy coastline and clear water. Not to mention that the sun was positioned perfectly to get the perfect tans, which Ember definitely needed.
Skylar would often spend the days with her, tanning, gossiping. Of course Ember told her sister about the kiss that was practically waging warfare on her mind. And of course, Skylar left her with a simple ass response of "follow your heart." Which meant nothing because her heart is stupid and will most likely make her get hurt in the end.
Farther away in London rested James Potter. Whilst he was having a similar problem to Ember, it wasn't exactly the warfare type. More of the cold shower type.
He hadn't one hundred precent accepted that he might like Ember, I mean can you even like someone after only so long of being together? And there was always the River issue.
The stupid lake taking each of the girls he fancies. Stupid, stupid.
Sirius had stayed with him over summer considering he was disowned from his family. Probably for the better anyway. The only thing holding Sirius back, he admitted to James, was Regulus. But he knew he would've died if he didn't leave.
Yet, both James Potter and Ember White were wondering the same thing everytime they saw a newspaper. The killings were increasing every day. This man truly was evil and wouldn't stop until he got what he want. Many nights Ember would lay awake in her bed, just staring at the ceiling and counting down moments, seconds.
James layed in bed staring at the ceiling one afternoon. His brain was wrecking with ideas and as much as he just wanted to let them continue Sirius had other ideas.
Sirius had not found out about their kiss yet, but that wouldn't stop him from teasing him when he would write a letter to her. Sure, they never talked about the kiss in letters or anything but they were short and sweet ones.

James smiled as he read the letter. The 'favorite person' and little heart at the end making him jittery inside. However, He nearly dropped it when a thought came through his head. He only ever got this way with one person. Lily Evans.
"Prongs?" Sirius asked when he noticed James had became pale, "You okay mate?"
James quickly looked away from the letter, throwing himself down on the bed, his hands went to his face "Holy Merlin left saggy titty- I'm falling in love with Ember White!"
Sirius barked out a laugh. "You're just now realizing that?"
"Well-" he sighed loudly. "When we kissed-"
"You kissed?!"
"Yes! Keep up!" James exclaimed, "I think I fancy her." He breathed out, running a stressed hand through the mop of curls on his head.
Sirius sighed and moved to James's bed. Laying next to him, "When you think of her what comes to mind?"
The messy haired boy thought for a moment. Ember was this pretty blonde who practically walked into his life so easily. It was like the stars woke up one day and decided for them to be friends. Like a "hey Jill should we put those two together?" And "oh yeah Matt let's do that!"
She stole his time, patience, and at this point, his heart. His dreams were filled of a blue eyed girl dancing with him with rain falling around them. Her laugh and smile lighting up his ears.
He could picture her head resting on his chest, their breaths matching. His arms are wrapped around her and they both have equal grins on their faces.
James was utterly entranced by Ember. "I- everything. Everything good, everything important comes to mind."
Sirius gave him a wide smile and went back to his own bed, "you're whipped."
James groaned loudly.
Skylar had been laughing in the background for the past thirty minutes watching her sister nitpick their home. Of course Riley just had to be called out to the ministry. Marci was too busy laughing of her daughters worry to do anything.
The fireplace began to turn green. Ember quickly looked to a laughing Skylar and her mom, "Pretend I'm outside or something!" She shrieked and ran to the back door.
Marci rolled her eyes but a smile painted her face. A dark haired boy shot out of the fireplace. "Hey there miss white, Skylar." He winked in the girls direction and she rolled her eyes. "Where's the blonde one?"
Marci bit her lip trying to hold in her laugh. James and Euphemia stuck out of the fireplace, James smiled. "Helloooo! Wheres blondie?"
"Do you guys just bully my sister for being blonde?" Skylar snorted.
James nodded slyly and faced Marci, "Hello Miss white. I've heard all about you. Anddd this is my mother, Euphemia."
Marci smiled and shook Mia's hand. The two getting in their own conversation. Skylar smirked and took a bite out of her popcorn, "Your girlfriend is outside hiding by the way."
James slurred a little, "G-girlfriend?" Not that he was trying to stutter or turn red as a tomato. Yet, he did.
"You guys do realize that I keep up with my sister's drama... right?" Skylar grinned and threw a popcorn at Sirius.
He surprisingly caught it and popped it in his mouth, "good to know. But Em and Prongs aren't actually dating. It's a game they made to make River jealous."
The brunette rolled her eyes, "You also realize Ember tells me stuff right. Trust me, I already know."
"Oh." James shrugged, "Where did you say Ember was again."
Skylar continued to eat her popcorn, "She's hiding. It's a little funny to me, but it's Ember. Who knows what goes on in her head."
Sirius grinned widely, "She was with me and Moony once and made a whole plan to commit a murder."
"Sounds normal for her. When we were younger she said there was a monster under her bed. Mom checked it, it was a chicken."
A cough came from the other side of the room. A blonde girl stood with blue eyes. A scrunched up frown on her face. James stared for a quick second. It had been maybe two weeks and she had already changed. Just maybe a little taller, her hair was a little longer, and her eyes were a little more captivating.
"Good to know it's expose Ember day... now come on- chop, chop! We have stuff to do!"
