THREE TIMES A DAY, KENNEDY WOULD ENTER THE SMALL ROOM bringing pitiful meals and barely any news. Whatever Voldemort was doing in France was taking a lot longer than expected. The meals and Kennedy's visits were Athena's only understanding of how much time had passed.

She knew that her sister would have realised she was missing right away. They had arranged to go out for a meal to celebrate Athena finishing Hogwarts. Aurora would have informed the order. This gave Athena a small bout of hope however she wasn't sure how they were going to figure out where Athena was.

Three days passed when Athena only saw Kennedy and the limp body of Loki which she had placed in a shadowy corner out of sight so she wouldn't have to look at him. Athena wished she had let him go before they reached the manor. Athena loved her owl a lot, it hurt to know that he wasn't with her anymore.

The mattress wasn't comfortable at all, Athena hadn't exactly expected a five star stay however she would have preferred not having a spring sticking into her back while she tried to sleep.

Athena was no stranger to being awake. However now it was even more frustrating than before. The girl still had her trunk with her meaning that she could have read if it was not for the fact that there was no light coming into the room.

The room would illuminate slightly when Kennedy pushed in however this was brief and usually rather bitter. Athena had understood why Kennedy did what she did but that didn't stop her being slightly pissed off.

She thought that the least that she could do was explain what was going on. Kennedy was telling Athena nothing and not even staying to keep her company. She supposed that Kennedy was probably being monitored.

The meals were dry and had barely any taste. Breakfast was porridge or toast with no butter. Lunch was bread and dinner was a stew that at first Athena had refused to eat because of how grim it smelled. However she soon learned that refusing meals wasn't a good plan unless she wanted to starve.

All Athena knew was that something hadn't gone to plan. She had heard Mrs Vulpes yelling even through the heavy steel door she was kept behind. When Kennedy had come in to leave meals Athena had asked what was going on. Kennedy had simply said that situations in France weren't going smoothly.

Of course Athena had no idea what the situations in France were meaning that this barely gave her any insight to what was actually going on. Athena supposed this was why Kennedy had said anything at all.

Nevertheless, Athena wasn't annoyed that Voldemort was running late. She knew that things were going to get a lot worse for her when he arrived and she would rather not meet him. Kennedy could barely say his name without getting frightened and Kennedy was one of the strongest people she knew.

In her spare time (which was now all the time) Athena would lie back and sing lightly to herself while wrapping her hand around her golden locket. Remus' heartbeat calmed her, it was keeping her going just thinking of him.

He would know that she was missing, he would be one of the first people that Aurora told. Athena knew he would be worried about her, she could tell by the rather fast paced heart beat. He would be doing everything he could to get to her. She wished he would hurry up.

Another few days past. Athena realised that it must be a Saturday by now. Maybe she would have gone out somewhere nice. Got dressed up and laughed with her friends. She wondered what they were doing now.

Kennedy was out on Saturday. The house elves brought her meals instead, the poor things looked dreadfully hurt and had obviously been forbidden to talk to her. Athena wanted to help them but she knew there was no way of doing this from where she was.

Athena wondered whether Kennedy had seen Sirius. She wondered whether she was lying about knowing where Athena was. On Sunday Athena asked her where she had been, the girl didn't reply. Athena felt as though she barely even knew her anymore.

This betrayal hurt because she had known of Kennedy's position as a death eater yet she had still assumed that Kennedy would never do anything like this. Now looking back she shouldn't have been so naive. Kennedy didn't have a choice over her actions, Athena should have realised this.

On Monday the steel door opened and Kennedy came walking in faster than usual. She placed the bowl of porridge on the floor and glanced at Athena who was lying flat on her bed with a stern expression.

"Did you sleep?"

"Why do you care?"

Kennedy didn't answer.

She turned and walked back towards the door but lingered as though she wanted to say something.

"Is he coming?" Athena asked,

"No" Kennedy shook her head, "no he's still in France"

"What is it then?"

"Your uncles here" Kennedy replied, "he wants to see you"

"Let him" Athena stood up her legs shaking as she tried to see confident, "let him see me then"

"Athena—"

"I presume you wouldn't be able to stop him even if you tried" Athena continued,

"No I couldn't" Kennedy muttered, "I just wanted to prepare you"

A large bang caused Kennedy to jump violently as she turned her head and looked up the stone stairs.

Footsteps approached and Kennedy backed towards the side wall of the room, lowering her head quietly as she kept her eyes fixed on the doorway.

Athena looked up, not backing away or acting scared. She wasn't going to make herself look weak. Not now.

Then he appeared. Standing tall in the entrance of the steel door. Somehow he was exactly how she had imagined.

He was tall, lanky even. He had to stoop as he walked into the room. He wore black robes that Athena presumed were death eater uniform.

His head was shaved, his smile wide and he had a small gap between his front teeth. Eyes wide and round, pupils small which extenuated the idea of someone insane.

Dacre stared at her for a moment, without saying anything and then all of a sudden he lunged forward and yelled,

"BOO!" Athena jumped back violently, accidentally kicking over her bowl of porridge which spilt over the floor.

Dacre burst into fits of laughter, his eyes open even wider now. Athena looked to Kennedy who was now staring at the door obviously wondering whether she should leave. Athena hoped she didn't.

"I didn't think you had it in you foxy" Dacre chuckled,

"Foxy?" Athena frowned. Kennedy raised her eyebrows at Athena for a few seconds before she transformed into a small fox and back again. Athena had forgotten she could do that.

"Betraying your best friend" he stated dramatically as he placed his hand over his heart, "even I wouldn't stoop that low"

"You betrayed your own little sister and then killed her" Athena snarled.

"Oh you're right!" He gasped, "I guess I have stooped that low"

"So you're Dacre" Athena stated rather stupidly.

"I thought you were a Ravenclaw!" Dacre cackled as he hit the side of her head causing her to stumble, "where are the brains? Where are the brains?"

Athena looked to Kennedy again knowing that her friend wouldn't be able to help her.
"I suppose you know me as Professor Watson" he put on a thick Scottish accent that didn't suit his appearance.

"You were an awful teacher"

"Fucking genius this one" Dacre laughed, "that's because I wasn't trying to teach you... DUH"

"You don't look like my mother" Athena mused, "for being twins"

"Your mother is a vindictive and spiteful witch" Dacre spat, "I'm nothing like her at all... I'm smart, witty, handsome and most of all not a fucking bore"

"Don't talk about my mother like that—"

"Don't pretend you care" Dacre barked, "all she's done is lie to you... I would never lie to you Athena"

"You pretended to be my defence against the dark arts teacher for months!"

"Boo hoo" Dacre rolled his eyes, "do you think that was easy... looking over foxy twenty four seven and trying to fight the urge not to kill you on the spot"

"You can't kill me" Athena stated, "he needs me"

Dacre clapped his hands loudly, the sound echoing off the walls,

"And she's solved it... bet you think you're bloody Sherlock Holmes"

"I thought you'd be more—"

"What?" Dacre snapped, "Insane? Everyone says I'm insane don't they foxy, bet she told you that... and your mother and your father"

"My mother told me that" Athena nodded, trying to keep Kennedy's name out of it.

"I'm batshit crazy" Dacre yelled, "that's what they all say"

"It's because you thought my mother killed your wife and daughter but she didn't"

"Don't speak to me about things you don't understand" he hissed loudly, placing his hand around her throat and pushing her against the wall.

"Voldemort killed them" Athena choked. Dacre threw Athena to the floor and felt her head collide with the stone. Her vision went blurry and she felt like she could be sick. A figure was kneeling beside her, it looked like Kennedy.

"You're not supposed to hurt her" Kennedy muttered, "not until he gets here"

"I didn't mean to" Dacre spat, "they told me to... they told me to... they told me to"
Athena was beginning to see now that Dacre was definitely insane as he paced around the room. Maybe she had spoken too soon.

"Oh shut up!" Dacre screamed,

"What are they saying now?" Asked Kennedy as she led Athena over to the wooden chair.

"They want me to rip out her intestines and use them to hang her from the ceiling" Dacre replied.

Athena's eyes went wide as she stared at him.

"I'm not going to you stupid girl"

"Why did you kill Honey?" Athena asked, "I thought it was my mother you hated?"

"Oh it is" Dacre grinned evilly, "and I can't wait to bleed her like a pig and listen to her squeal",

"Why did you kill Honey?"

"I spared her" Dacre replied simply, "they were after her... don't you see, I don't kill people with magic, that's too kind... I spared Honey before anyone could torture her"

"You didn't spare her you killed her" Athena yelled, "don't pretend you care"

"Of course I fucking care!" Dacre screamed, "She's my sister... my little sister"

"And Mary is your twin" Athena cried,

"Mary is the bane of my existence... she ruined everything! She killed my daughter... she killed my baby girl... and I'll kill hers... I'll kill you... I'll kill you right here!"

"No you won't!" Kennedy yelled, "we can't kill her"

Dacre was breathing heavily as he started to punch his fist against the stone wall. Blood appeared on his knuckles but he kept going.

"They won't shut up" Dacre growled.

"What won't shut up?" Athena asked,

"The voices" Dacre smiled sickly, "the voices in my head... they want me to kill you"

Did he say voices in his head?

You have voices in your head Athena

You're just like him

You're going crazy

"No I'm not" Athena muttered. Dacre turned and frowned at her,

"What did you say?"

"Nothing" she mumbled.

"You have them to" his eyes suddenly gleamed as he knelt before her. Grabbing her chin and making her look in his eyes,

"Wait until Mary finds out she cooked up a little psycho"

"I'm not a psycho" Athena spat,

"You're a lot like me" Dacre smirked, "you're a lot more like me than you think"

"That's what my aunt told me" Athena muttered.

"Honey?"

"No Melissa... my dads sister"

"Ah sweet Melissa" Dacre nodded, "I would cut out her tongue given the chance"

Athena shivered and felt her own tongue curl in her mouth at the thought.

"She's right though" Dacre continued, "I've been watching you all year and you remind me of me"

"She's wrong" Athena shook her head, "me and you are not the same"

"Pretence is a fickle thing" Dacre sighed as he moved back and began to dance around the room. Athena watched with a frown.

"What's he doing?" Athena whispered to Kennedy who shrugged so lightly that Athena barely noticed.

"I see the crystal raindrops fall and the beauty of it all is when the sun comes shining through" the man sang as he span around. Athena looked to Kennedy again who didn't seem to find this weird. Maybe this was usual behaviour for him.

"To make those rainbows in my mind when I think of you sometime and I wanna spend some time with you.... here we go"

"Just the two of us, we can make it if we try, just the two of us—"

"Stop it" Athena muttered as the man began to sing at the top of his lungs. He raised his eyebrows before bursting out laughing again which seemed to be his favourite thing to do.

The way he moved made him look drunk. He used his hands when he talked as though he couldn't keep them still. Occasionally he would rub them together violently however Athena couldn't figure out why.

"Didn't like the singing?" Dacre sighed, "I'm a man of many talents... I could dance or—"

"Mary didn't want the prophecy to be about me"

"OH SHUT UP WILL YOU" Dacre roared suddenly in the girls face, "who wouldn't want their daughter to have glory such as this, to tell the dark Lord how to win the war"

"I'm never going to tell Voldemort that" Athena scowled, "I'm going to tell Dumbledore"

Dacre struck Athena across the face again and her cheek burned as she heard Kennedy wince slightly.

"Stupid little girl" Dacre spat.

"I thought I was like you?" Athena smirked, "does that make you stup—"

"I WILL PLUCK YOUR EYES OUT WITH A COCKTAIL STICK—"

"Very creative dad but she knows you can't"

Athena turned to look over Dacre's shoulder and her heart raced to see Archer standing there leaning against the wall.

"Archer" Dacre muttered, "the prodigal son"

"He was Mary's son for long—"

Dacre kicked Athena's knee with so much force that she couldn't help but yell out. She clutched her hand around it feeling that it was definitely broken.

"Don't talk to me about that woman!" Dacre roared, "If I had known that Archer was there... I would have broken out of St Mungo's a lot longer ago"

"She looked after him—"

"Don't bother Athena" Archer stated, "don't bother lying"

"I'm not lying" Archer shot her a warning glance that Dacre couldn't see. The girl fell silent as she turned back to her uncle.

"You're crazy"

"Thank you"

"They need you upstairs" Archer sighed as he stepped into the room, "I'm guessing things were getting boring without you"

"Of course they were" Dacre rolled his eyes, "everything's boring without me"

The man skipped off not before he jumped in the air and clicked his heels together. Athena listened to his whistling carrying up the stairs before she looked to Archer.

"You're nothing like him" Athena pointed out,

"I'm not insane you mean?" Archer smirked, "he wasn't once"

"Why do they need him upstairs?" Kennedy asked, "is something happening"

"They didn't say" Archer replied, "you should have listened to me Rena... I told you not to to trust anyone"

"I already knew that Kennedy was a death eater" Athena pointed out.

"But you still trusted her" Archer scoffed, "you're just like your mother"

"How would you know, you only know what your fathers told you and he's out of his mind!"

"I've heard enough" Archer replied, "you should have listened... I told you to listen"

"Why would you want to help me?" Athena asked, "I thought you were on their side?"

"I am" Archer shrugged, "but a mouse chase isn't so fun if the mouse doesn't know that there's a cat"

Athena was about to say something else when footsteps came hurrying back into the room. It was Dacre again.

"Chop chop kids" he grinned, "Daddy's home"

"He's here?" Archer asked,

"Oh he's here alright"

"The dark Lord has returned"
