News about Y/n calling off the engagement quickly spread through her friends and family. But she couldn't care less. All that matters to her is that Katie is by her side through it all.

It has been a week, and y/n's departure to Ireland is tomorrow, yet people have been texting the younger girl non-stop. All she could do was ignore it and enjoy her remaining time with Kaite.

"Good morning, my love." Katie greeted the y/ec eyed girl with a smile. Neither one of them couldn't still believe that they were together now.

"Hmm... good morning." Y/n smile is clearly as happy as the person beside her.

"Ready to make breakfast?" Katie asked, getting up from the bed.

"As long as I'm making it with you, I'll be glad to." Katie smiled at Y/n's reply, giving her a quick peck on the lips.

The couple headed their way towards the kitchen when they heard a frantic knock on the front door. Katie and Y/n looked at each other, confused as none of them expected any visitors today.

"I'll answer it. Go start without me." The young architect said, kissing Katie on the cheek in the process.

The younger girl opened the door, her parents barged into her apartment, which completely shocked her.

"Are you mad? Why would you break up with Lucas? He's such a perfect man!" Her mother said, accusing her of insanity.

"Our friends even tell us that you're fucked in the head. You've wasted a big opportunity here, young lady." Her mom continued to rant.

All the way to the kitchen, Katie could hear everything the younger girl's mom was saying. She'd intervene, but she knew all too well that Y/n could handle herself.

"No, mom. Not going to Ireland to pursue my dreams is a waste of opportunity... marrying a man that I don't even love is a waste of opportunity. I'm tired, and I don't want to be held back anymore by you, or Lucas, or any of your bitchy friends who only likes to gossip about other people's life. My decision is final, and no one could ever change it, not even you. I'm done." Y/n said, giving her mother a piece of her mind for the first time in her life. Admitting that she's in love with Katie gave her the confidence to stand up for herself.

Her father stood silently, understanding his daughter's decision, and he couldn't help but feel proud. He knows his daughter, and little did Katie and Y/n know. He also knew who his daughter was talking about back at the engagement party.

Her mother walked out of the apartment, shocked that her own daughter raised her voice at her. She never realized how much she's grown to be a wonderful woman. All she could do was sighed as her father smiled at her apologetically.

"You've made the right decision y/n. Your mother will come through... one of these days. I'm so proud of you, my sweets." Her father said. Y/n hugged him, letting him know that she loved him dearly.

"Thank you, dad. I'm going to miss you so much." She said as she laid her head on his father's chest.

"I'll miss you too, pumpkin. You'll do well in Ireland, I know it." Her father said before pulling away from each other to say their goodbyes.

After her parents' encounter, Y/n went back to the kitchen, where Katie continued cooking their favorite breakfast.

"So that was my parents." Y/n awkwardly said as she stood behind the kitchen aisle."I've heard." Katie chuckled.

"I've never seen your mom that angry... and your dad was charming." Katie added.

The young girl agreed with her girlfriend, as she helped her finish with the cooking.

"Have you finished packing all your stuff?" Katie silently asked as the thought of being separated again with the love of her life dawned on her.

"Not yet. I thought if you could help me pack the rest of my things." She answered.

Katie immediately agreed, knowing she would do anything to spend every second with y/n until its time for the younger girl to board her plane. Both of them are willing to try even with the long-distance, but it doesn't erase the fact that they would miss being in each other's arms every night or how their lips would feel against each other.

----------

Breakfast was truly incredible for the girls, and after the tiresome afternoon of packing, they've decided that they're too lazy to cook for lunch, leading them into making a decision to just order some take-out from their favorite restaurants.

Cuddled with Katie on the couch, Y/n couldn't help but smile as she finally felt at home in the arms of the person that she truly loved.

"What are you thinking about?" The green-eyed girl suddenly asked, taking notice of the younger girl's silence.

"Just thinking how I'd miss being in your arms after I move to Ireland." Y/n said, sighing as tears threatened to spill from her eyes.

"We could always call each other. We can still have our movie nights even we're miles away from each other. We'll get through it. Four years isn't a long time." Katie said, clearly feeling the sadness of y/n leaving.

She would never hold her back. Being a great architect is her dream, and Katie would do anything to support the love of her life.

"Why don't you just come with me?" Y/n asked.

"I mean, I already have a place there courtesy of my boss so we wouldn't have to bother looking for a place to rent, we'd never suffer from all the mong distance loving, and we get to create more memories together." Y/n continued.

As much as she wanted to, Katie couldn't leave... at least not yet. She also has a job, one that she's also incredibly passionate about. She couldn't leave, knowing how much time and effort she's put into building her career.

"Baby, I can't" Katie gave her girlfriend a sad smile knowing how much pain she's putting herself in rejecting Y/n's offer.

"I'm so sorry. It's too selfish of me. I should've never said that. You have your own career, and of course, I support you and all of your ventures, and it would crush me knowing that I was the reason you have to stop from achieving all of your dreams. Please forgive me." Y/n went to apologize. She was so overwhelmed by the fact that she'd have to go away for a few years for her career that she almost forgot about Katie's career.

"It's okay, love. I promise... everything will stay the same. You and me, we'll get through this." Katie assured the younger girl as she shared a loving kiss, not wanting to let go of each other ever again.
