Listening to Jessie attempt to justify her actions was laughable, in fact Adam and Eva were barely able to contain themselves. They promised Jessie no judgement but couldn't help but tease her.
"I just thought Wood was last year's phase.. clearly not though" Eva said sniggering into her goblet, Adam himself found it extremely amusing and a very good distraction.
"We just happened to bump into each other" Jessie defended herself, a light maroon colour dusting her cheeks.
"Yes, yes when I bump into someone.. I too let them take off my pants" Eva blurted out, she was now roaring with laughter and Adam had soon joined in.
"This isn't the time nor place.." Jessie hissed lowly, after all they were sat in the great hall with the rest of the school on a Friday morning and Eva was clearly making a scene.
"For real though why weren't we told?" Eva asked seriously, it was like she could switch off her emotions.
"I wonder why and plus it's not safe, especially if someone is reporting back to my parents"
Eva nodded in understanding.
"But seriously Jess the prefect's bathroom?" Eva questioned pouring a large amount of pumpkin juice into her mouth.
"It was cosy?" She stated nervously.
"It sounded like you were strangling each other but okay" Adam commented, Eva couldn't deal. It was all too funny, so much so Eva spat her drink everywhere and as a result knocked her glass over but this didn't stop her from emitting a loud cackle.
It was like old times, Eva doing something stupid and gaining unwanted attention from the student body. It too was almost an unfamiliar feeling.
"Smith!" A loud voice quipped. Eva sighed, now she was done for and rightfully so. The Slytherin table was covered in sticky liquid that Eva had knocked and the snakes weren't very happy with her.
"Minnie!" Eva shouted, the stern teacher was making her way over to Eva's position and was sure to punish her.
"Are you aware you're no longer four years old?" Mcgonnagall questioned loudly, it was as if nothing in Hogwarts could be conducted discreetly. "This isn't suitable behaviour for a student".
"No way!" Eva commented weakly, causing the growing crowd of people to giggle lightly. Eva zoned out and made eye contact with the man she had come to know as Remus Lupin who was mischievously grinning at her.
"Detention with.. hmm.. Lupin"
Eva sighed with relief it wouldn't really be torture then if it was with Remus, he was actually quite kind and encouraging. Adam giggled quietly.
"Don't think you've gotten away with your rowdy behaviour O'Donnell, detention tonight"
Fuck...
[MEANWHILE AT THE POTTER'S]
"It's clear she won't reach out to us on her own so I'll have to man up and do it myself" James commented at the dining table.
Himself and Lily were having their breakfast, Sirius was joining them too although James couldn't remember the last time Sirius had left his house but obviously had no problem with his best friend being around all the time.
"Took you bloody' long enough" Sirius mumbled. James shot him an unimpressed look from over his silver spoon.
"You hardly expected her to reach out to you, James darling you've ruined every chance you've received and in Eva's mind you're just a man who used to be friendly with her mother"
"Geez' Lily way to flatten the mood" Sirius commented but a quick glare from Lily shut the man right up.
"I'm just saying you haven't gone about this the right way and I wouldn't blame her if she hates you for it".
"Lily's right.. all this time I've been putting it off because I was scared of what might happen but I can't procrastinate any longer".
"Prongs you're a great father already, she'd be lucky to have you.. Trust me".
"So is there a plan this time? No doubt the fifth years are hard at work for their owls, we can't exactly pull her out of school" Lily had a valid point but James was one step ahead.
"Good thing we have a trusted friend at Hogwarts who fills me in on all the gossip"
"You didn't?" Lily sighed.
"He did" Sirius and James answered simultaneously.
"And it seems Gryffindor was set to play Hufflepuff this weekend but luckily the Puffs pulled out so Slytherin will take their place instead".
"Why have Hufflepuff pulled out?" Lily questioned taking a sip of her tea.
"That doesn't matter to me much at the moment" James rambled suspiciously. "The point is it's not weird if Harry Potter's relatives also show up to the match, Eva is sure to be there and it'll be the perfect opportunity to snatch her away".
"Well it's more thought out to than the time you harassed her in Hogsmeade I'll give you that".
"We don't speak of that!" The boys said sternly.
"Oh yes she accused you of being pedophiles!"
"Anyways..."
[TEN MINUTES LATER]
Sirius and James were hanging out in James' man cave claiming they needed some time to speak as manly men but of course Lily knew they were nothing of the sort.
They were softies..
"Convenient that Hufflepuff pulled out of the match, don't you think?" Sirius questioned throwing himself on one of the plush couches.
"Quite.." James answered.
"You didn't have anything to do with it, no?"
"Of course not" James answered weakly. Sirius shot him an amused smirk.
"Fine.. I sent their seeker a new firebolt"
"What was that?" Sirius sang putting a hand to his ear.
"Cedric Diggory refused to pull out unless I sent him a broom".
"Sorry.. didn't hear you" Sirius was attempting to wind him up.
"I SAID I BRIBED A SIXTEEN YEAR OLD WITH A BRAND NEW BROOM SO THAT HE WOULD PULL OUT OF THE GAME"
"JAMES FLEAMONT POTTER" a shrill voice roared from the stairs.
"Fuck"
[MEANWHILE AT HOGWARTS]
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN HUFFLEPUFF PULLED OUT OF THE MATCH? THE SLYTHERIN TEAM STILL HATE ME, WE HAVEN'T PRACTICED AT ALL!" Eva was hysterically shouting now but this time in the corridor.
"Smith, calm down.. I'm only the messenger"
"No Wood you've done this to me on purpose, the world is OUT TO FUCKING GET ME"
"Look it's news to me aswell, apparently Diggory pulled the team out.. no one knows why".
"Diggory is a tosser!" Eva hissed.
"No need to get angry.. we're quite confident that we'll win so maybe instead of shouting at me in public go off and practice"
Eva flipped him off in reply, nostrils flaring.
"Fuck off Wood, do what your good at!"
"Which is?" He asked cockily.
"Fingering my best friend in the bathroom stalls!".

"This isn't fair you know, we have detention for expressing ourselves.. since when is laughing a crime? Mcgonnagall is a right, wrinkly old bat she just wants her team to win that's why we're being punished" Eva was furious, the time she'd waste in detention she could be using to train up the team.
"And don't get me started on Diggory, next time I see him.. I'm going to assault him and unlike last time I'll be successful in doing so!"
"Eva.." Adam mumbled, he was in no mood to listen to her rant. Sure this morning was a terrific distraction from his current life crisis but someone wanted to meet him during detention, someone who named themselves as P.P.
Eva was too wrapped up in herself and quidditch to realise Adam was crumbling and genuinely needed help.
"And who does Oliver Wood think he is? He's so cocky, I mean I'm cocky but he's a different sort. God he's so infuriating it's almost like-
"-Eva shut the fuck up. I don't care!" Adam shouted in reply, Eva was so genuinely shocked she stopped walking feeling her heart clench. Quidditch was so important to her and Adam was dismissing that.
"We have detention now, we might aswell just get through it without any drama. Okay?"
"okay.."
The DADA room was quiet, Eva liked spending detention there. Remus was always exceptionally helpful and kind towards her but who knows how he would react towards Adam.
"Hello Remus!" Eva said happily, strolling into the classroom.
"Eva.." he nodded back in contentment. Adam simply looked at his teacher blandly without addressing him although Remus didn't seem to mind.
"I heard Slytherin will be taking Hufflepuff's place in the match this Sunday?" Remus announced.
"Unfortunately.." Eva mumbled.
"I thought you loved quidditch!" The older man enquired taking a seat at his own desk.
"I do but we've hardly practiced at all!"
Adam wondered why the two spoke as if they were friends, maybe if he tuned into conversations between Eva and Jessie once in a while he might of known but he quite frankly was too tired and anxious to care.
"I must say I wasn't expecting you both, so I haven't really got anything for you to do".
[30 minutes later]
Remus and Eva were engaged in conversation, they weren't ignoring Adam but the boy didn't exactly help his own case, choosing not to participate.
7:30 pm
Adam was due for a tête-à-tête with a stranger in less than ten minutes, he was hoping whoever it was would be kind enough to end his life for him..
"Sir may I please go to the toilet?"
After being dismissed, Adam walked slowly down the corridors. Why this person wanted to meet in the room of requirement was beyond him.
The seventh floor was earily quiet so much so Adam could hear his heart pumping out of his chest. The room was around here somewhere all he had to do was state his intentions with it.
As it opened, the room was seemingly clutter filled, It was a hoarder's wet dream and it really bothered Adam. He didn't really know where to go so opted to observe some of the nick nacks adorning the shelves.
There was a mountain of things, from quaffles, flags, boxes to text books and a house jumper?. Adam couldn't help but be intrigued by it all. A silver tin sparkled in front of the boy, compelling him to touch it.
As Adam was inspecting the box, something behind it began to squeak. He jumped in fright, ultimately dropping the box.
He gagged once he spotted the measly rat, it looked half-dead. Adam scoffed, not believing he would become scared of something so small and inferior to him.
That was until the small rodent began to grow larger and larger until eventually a putrid looking gentleman stood in front of the teenager.
Adam took a step back, the rotten smell of the man's clothing becoming too much for him. Upon closer inspection, he realised who this man was... Peter Pettigrew.
"You.. you.. you sent me that letter?"
The fat man nodded meekly exposing a set of yellow, overlapped teeth that were rabbit like.
"Why?" Adam wanted to cry, he was so scared.
"Master will return to kill the boy" Pettigrew mumbled stepping closer to the shaking figure of Adam.
"Who?" Adam managed to get out.
"Harry Potter"
"What has that got to do with me?"
"Make sure the girl can't stop it"
"Who?"
"Eva Potter.."
"I don't know an Eva Potter?" Adam questioned.
"Her parents will die.. master will let you live if you help.. you must get rid of Eva Smith"
And then it clicked for Adam,
Eva was a Potter
"And if I say no?" Adam asked smally, Pettigrew was practically on top of him now.
"He'll kill you but first he'll make you watch him kill everyone you love"
