The wrath of ruthless Ruth

It's stormy outside, you're with Varian and Sophie spending some time experimenting and building inventions in his lab.
Quirin is in the kitchen cleaning up before going to help the other villagers.
The rocks are in the village now, not near the houses but they've worked their way into the fields.
"Hey, guys... I don't think you should go back to the Castle yet." Varian says with concern looking out the window.
"Varian we'll be fine, a bit of rain won't hurt us." You reassure.
"(__), if something happened to you, I couldn't live... please just go tomorrow." Varian gives you his iconic puppy eyes.
"Protective much?" Sophie smirks.
"What, can't a guy be protective over his princess?" Varian flirts and kisses your hand.
Sophie rolls her eyes, "Give me a break from you two lovey doveies."
You blush, "Alright, we'll go tomorrow..."
You sit down at Varian's desk, open up your satchel and are about to draw in your journal when you realise its missing.
"No! I've left my journal at the castle on my desk!"
"Can't you just draw in one of my books?" Varian asks.
"You don't understand it has some extremely hidden secrets in there about this!" You point to your hair stripe.
"Like what?" Sophie asks.
"Well, the fact the healing Incantation works with me and not Raps, that Cass went with me and Rapunzel to the rocks, and all my research on the star-" you turn away mentally slapping yourself.
"The star what?" Sophie asks.
"Nothing! Just notes for that test we had." You lie.
Varian gently grabs your hand and pulls you around, "And why are they secretive?"
"T-they're not I was just listing things in my journal." You laugh awkwardly.
Varian and crosses his arms, "(__), I can read you like a book, what's going on."
You sigh, "Fine... I've been hiding something from you guys..."

At the castle
Frederic runs into your room with two portraits and looks all over for something... your journal.
"Rapunzel? (__)?"
He sighs in relief when he sees your journal on your desk, then looks through a few pages.
One page is a drawing of you singing healing Incantation healing Varian. With some writing talking about that day. Then another drawing of Old Corona completely destroyed.
Frederic then flips a few pages to see, you near the black rocks with Varian and Rapunzel with your hair/Stripes glowing.
Lastly, he flips to the last time you wrote in it... the star crystal...
"She knows about it... and she has the magic Incantation..."

Back at old Corona
"You've kept this from us? But why? I thought you trusted us (__)." Varian frowns.
You sigh, "I'm sorry, I do trust you both, it's just I don't know a lot about it myself, and I'm not sure if it's true anyway."
Varian's frown turns into a determined face. "We need to collect as much data as possible to figure this out-"
"Varian, Varian, I want to figure this out just as much as you, but I need to get to that journal, if Nigel finds out and tells Frederic or even worse he finds it himself, I don't know what will happen."

Back with Frederic
"You would like to tighten security for your daughter's, your majesty?" Captain asks.
"Discreetly tighten Captain? Though they are keeping their promise of staying within the walls of Corona, I fear Rapunzel and (__) have a knack of getting themselves into trouble."
"With all respect, your majesty, (__)'s whole childhood was freedom and no rules, how do you expect her to not get into trouble-"
Frederic clears his throat. "Of course I dont expect her to not to get into trouble, after all, she's just a kid, I'll just have... a little chat with her once she's back from Old Corona."
"Of course your majesty." Captain bows.

A few hours later
"The storms calmed down, you should go now if you want to get your journal before your dad sees it," Varian says.
"Alright, Ready Sophie?" You ask.
"Yep, and since our 'lovely' day last week, I've got my dagger in my satchel, just in case," Sophie smirks.
"And I've got my sword so you don't have to worry Varian, okay?" You move his bangs out of his face.
"Alright, send me a letter once you get to the snuggly duckling." He runs over to his book self and hands you an empty book.
"Thanks, I'll cya later." You kiss him on the cheek making him blush.
You see something red and gold in the corner of your eye at the window but in a flash, it's gone.
"Alright, let's go before it rains again." Sophie smiles.
Varian seemed sorta jumpy today, maybe he's just being overprotective again with you and Sophie.
But with that, you set off with Sophie back to the castle to get your journal.
Suddenly you and Sophie see a person in the stables spying on you.
"Psst! (__), is that a guard? What are they doing here?" Sophie whispers.
"I don't know, but I think I saw one spying on us in Varian's house." You reply.
"Hmmm, then let's make this a little harder for them, see if our training has come in any use," Sophie smirks.
You use your dagger, that Cass gave you when she got a new one, as a spade and dig some mud up and place it on the tip.
Another guard pops up outta nowhere, you use the blade as a catapult and fire the mud straight into the guard's face.
"Okay, so time to run huh?" Sophie smirks.
"Yeah, now would be a good time." You giggle and run as fast as you can when three more guards appear.
"Any chance you have any ideas on how to get these guards off our backs, apart from throwing mud in their faces?!" Sophie shouts while running into the forest.
"Yeah, I do! Grab my hand!" You shout.
Sophie grabs your hand, you grab a branch and jump up the tree. The guards run past not knowing where you both are, Sophie smirks as she now knows what you're doing.
You both swing on the branch catching their attention then once they do, you both kick them in the face, hard enough to knock them down but not to hurt... or at least not to bad.
"Okay, it's been a long time since I've had to do that!" Sophie laughs.
"It's been longer for me! Sophie look out!" You shout.
A guard tries to tackle you and Sophie but misses.
"Okay, something is going on and I don't wanna find out right now, let's just get to the snuggly duckling, Leo, Ash, can you two lead the way?" You ask.
They both nod and run/fly off like the lightning in the sky.
"You know, if it wasn't stormy, and we weren't trying to escape the guards, this would be a lot more fun." Sophie looks around for any more guards.
Leo and Ash come back and lead the way.

You finally outside the snuggly duckling, a pumpkin carriage moves to reveal the iconic blondie everyone knows.
"Hey, Raps!" You shout scaring her.
"Oh! (__), Sophie, you scared me! What are you doing out in the storm?" Rapunzel asks.
"Running from the guards," Sophie replies.
"You too? The guards haven't stopped chasing me either! We should get inside before it-"
Rain starts pouring down, "Rains." You all say at the same time.
You all walk to the door, lightning strikes as soon as the door slams open scaring all the thugs.
"Ooo! Are you telling ghost stories?" Rapunzel asks.
"Or was it big nose telling them about his date last week," Sophie smirks.
"Ahh... sweet Ronda."
Sophie's smirk disappears, "Oh, that was a joke, but eh, you do you."
"What are you three doin' out here anyway in this lousy weather?" Hook foot ask.
Rapunzel wrings out her hair, "Good question, I thought our dad was done being overprotective, but for some reason, it seemed guards were following us everywhere today."
"Correction, Rapunzel. They were literally chasing me and Sophie." You add.
"C'mon you guys this is Corona! Guards are like cockroaches in this Kingdom."
"No kidding..." Sophie mumbles.
"Hook foot is right, No one is following you, they're probably just checking what you're doing."
"In old Corona?" You cross your arms.
"This storm has just put everyone Ill at ease. Your probably just imaging things."
The door slams open. Captain is stood there looking angry as normal.
Suddenly his face lightens up, "Well hello fellas!"
"He did it!" All the thugs point to one another.
"I was just wandering by, and- Oh! Lady (__)! Princess! Sophia! What a surprise to see you three here!"
You smirk, "Uh-huh, Hi Captain funny to see you here."
"Funny? Why There's nothing funny about it. I come here all the time to...
shoot the breeze with my.... old chums.
Hook toes?"
You cross your arms and raise a brow, "C'mon his name is obvious Hook foot."
"Hornswoggle?" He points to Atilla
"You mean Atilla"
"And, uh that guy."
"Ulf."
"Isn't that right fellas?" Captain asks.
They're just as bored as you are of his lie.
"Yup, nothing I love more than wettin' the whistle at the old Cozy quacker."
"C'mon! Can't you read now?" Sophie groans.
Atilla is cleaning a cup behind the counter. "Speciality of the house, slop."
Captain gags.
"Well, this has been fun you three, let's say I escort you back to the castle. The king wants (__)- I MEAN has a surprise for (__)." Captain starts walking towards the door.
Vlad bursts through the door, "No one is going anywhere! The roads are all flooded."
Captain groans, "Fantastic, we'll just have to wait out the storm."
You pull out the book Xavier gave you and begin to read see if you missed anything about the crystal.
Captain sees you re-reading the book and notices the title 'Star Crystal', he quickly snatches it off you.
"Hey, what the hell!" You say.
"Language!" Captain shouts.
"Please this is a thug pub not a fancy dinner party." You reply
Captain is still keeping the book away from you, "Where did you get this book from?"
"What's it to you?" You ask.
"Because I am the Captain of the royal-"
Sophie interrupts, "Cockroaches?" She snickers.
"No! The royal guards! You-"
Rapunzel steps in, "Alright everyone calm down, how about another story?!"
"Yes, Alright, also it's absolutely freezing in here, don't you know how to keep a fire goin'?" Captain walks over to the fire and is about to pick up the club.
"No!" You and all the other thugs shout.
"That's off-limits!"
Captain picks it up and drops it anyway.
The wind picks up.
"Good job Captain pinhead!" Sophie shouts sarcastically.
You run over and put the club back where it belongs.
"The club is never to be disturbed!" You explain.
Captain scoffs and crosses his arms.
"Why what's so special about it?" Rapunzel asks.
"Not special, spooky. It belongs to the snuggly duckling's original owner, Ruthless Ruth. " Vlad replies.
You can hear ghostly laughing.
"Uh oh..." You and Sophie whisper at the same time.
"Ruthless Ruth was the meanest pug thug to ever live. She used that club to threaten her customers." Vlad fixes the fire.
"They call it the listen up club. And whoever disturbs it, will incur the wrath of Ruthless Ruth wraith." Hook foot adds.
Lightning strikes and the lights go out.
You can hear a deep voice in your head again... your father's voice. "(__)... my starlight don't believe everything you hear..."
You look around in panic Leo is hiding in your hair.
The lights come back on.
"The wrath of Ruthless Ruth wraith?" Rapunzel asks.
Thunder crashes and once again the voice in your head speaks, "(__)... you know better than to judge someone by another's opinion... Remember..."
"What?!" You say not realising you said it out loud.
"What, what?" Sophie asks.
"The wrath of Ruthless Ruth wraith!" Big nose replies.
Once again thunder crashes.
You laugh awkwardly.
"Oooo! I wanna go! The wrath of Ruthless Ruth wraith!" Sophie laughs.
Thunder booms and the lights go out.
"(__)... your dad has told me a lot you..." another voice whispers but this time everyone hears.
"Okay! Can everyone stop saying, The wrath of Ruthless Ruth wraith!" Captain shouts.
Nothing happened.
"Okay, now If you excuse me... I'd rather take my chances in the rain. Than listen to one more minute to you baffoons and your silly ghost stories!"
All the candles blow out... thunder crashes.
"It's not what it seems..." once again the deep voice says in your head.
The fire bursts out of control. "WOAH! GET OUTTA HERE!" Vlad shouts.
Big nose grunts, "It's stuck!"
Hook foot screams, "Were trapped in the pub! It's the wrath of ruthless Ruth!"
"This is all your fault Captain pinhead!" Sophie shouts.
Captain growls, "If you call me Captain pin head again-"
"It's true!" Attila defends.
Captain scoffs, "Oh please, do you honestly think ruthless Ruth is behind this?"
"Guys, he's right let's not overreact. Just because the lights went out and the door slammed shut and the shutters doesn't mean it's a-" Rapunzel steps in front of Captain.
Sinister laughing echoes the pub.
"Ghost... Wait where is shorty?!"
