Jack
I pulled over the barracks. I saw Hiccup with Toothless, he's training him again at the oval near our designated rooms. When he saw me, he stopped running and jog towards me. "How did it go? Did Elsa do well?", Hiccup asked me with a smile.
Seriously, why is he asking a lot about Elsa?
Last week, Hiccup want to visit her but I told him no. I don't want him to come visit Elsa. I felt strange, I felt very strange whenever Hiccup asks about her. I don't know why I feel this way. I never get annoyed but this is the first time I'm annoyed in much amount...for a different reason...A reason...Nevermind!
"She did. Elsa need adjustments", I ran my fingers through my hair and put my hand on my waist.
"It's amazing that she coped up with you", Hiccup chuckled. He pat my arm. Toothless barked and spun, wagging his tail like an idiot. I never liked his dog, it always jump at me and lick me in the face. The next thing I knew is my precious face is full of sticky saliva. I didn't know why Hiccup chose this dog. But I guess it is the same with Gale. I felt connection towards my yellow Labrador named Gale. He's mischievous and playful, just like me. He chose me himself.
"Yeah, Elsa always returns with smiles and giggles. Even if she hurt herself in the training field, she stand up and laugh like nothing happened then proceed", I said. Hiccup smiled at me.
"Very well then. Well about Toothiana--", Hiccup paused. My eyes widened we he said Toothiana. I told him not to say her name again.
"What?", Is what I said when I cut him off.
"She's back", Hiccup scratched his nape and smile awkwardly. I can tell that he is nervous about telling me that Toothiana is here. I thought.. she's... she's dead? I'm lost of words, I found myself dizzy and the last thing I remember is Toothless barking, everything around me turned black.
Elsa
"Really?! He told you that?! The Captain Frost?!", Punzie and Merida asked in unison. They covered their mouth. I told them about Captain Frost being drunk, telling me he hates me because he's starting to have a little feelings for me.
Let's have a little bit of flashbacks..
It was 11 pm, I can't sleep so I decided to go downstairs. I put my phone down on top of the bed, it's Sunday. I'm talking to my friends, they sent a picture of them at a pub having a drink. They're with Anna, I didn't know she drinks alcohol. I will definitely scold her if she lost herself because of being too drunk.
Opening the door, I saw Captain Jack standing before me. My body trembled when I saw him. He's wearing a serious face. I startled. I did not expect him to show up. "Captain? Is there... I mean Jack, what are you doing here?", I asked him. I felt my heart beating fast.
Jack didn't say anything, he leaned in close to my face. Is he going to kiss me? I almost shut my eyes. He collapsed. I caught him. He passed out. His arms were wrapped around my body. He's heavy, you can do this soldier. And so I did the dumbest thing I could do, I walked backwards still hugging him.
I'm heading towards bed.
I let myself flopped down the bed with Captain Jack. By the light of the nightstand lamp, I visibly see his facial feature. Pushing his body away from mine, I stood up. His cheeks were red, it spread to his cheeks, nose and ears.
Jack squinted his eyes.
Everything around him must be so dizzy.
"Captain Jack, can you hear me? What's wrong? Do you need anything?", I asked him. He opened his eyes slightly, grabbing my wrist and pulling me towards him. I landed on his chest. I felt his warm arms embracing me. Jack let out a chuckle. "I hate you", He slurred.
"Why? What did I do to you?", I asked him. Frowning, I crossed my arms.
"I just hate you", Captain Jack's voice became husky. I blushed.
"Is that because I reminded you of your ex?", I feel hurt about asking that but anyway I said it. Captain Jack pulled me close to him, my chest bumped against his hard chest. He placed his chin atop my head.
Captain Jack whined like a little kid before saying, "No. I love you from who you are. I hate that I'm starting to love your personality, that I'm starting to fall in love with you... I hate that I'm holding back because.. I'm so scared to love again. I'm so scared to be left behind", I heard him say. His voice, from brave tone to soft tone came down to whisper.
In couple of seconds, Jack's chest rise up and down fast. He's silently crying. Never in my life have I witnessed a man crying in front of me. Not even father. Captain Jack let go, wiping the tears in his eyes. His black wrist watch, wrapped his perfectly skin toned wrist.
My breath hitched. Why am I so affected? His silent sobs turned slower and slower. Then I realized, Captain Jack stopped crying. He's fell asleep. Getting off of him, I sighed. "I feel the same Captain. I feel the same", I said in weak voice.
I went downstairs to get a basin, filled with ice cubes and a towel. I need to wipe his face and body to lower his body temperature. Captain Jack's burning hot. The night went well, I didn't sleep in the room. I slept on the couch. That morning, he asked me why he's in his room and I told him I persuaded him to sleep in his room since it's his room. I know it's a lame excuse but so so, it worked.
"Yes he told me that.. Maybe that's why he's a cold beast.. Captain Jack's just scared of showing his true self. Maybe.. He's afraid of giving in and he'll get hurt again. Who knows about his past? I'm sure no one does and if someone does?..I'm certain it's not the whole story", I said.
"I agree with you... Hey! Have you seen Lieutenant Toothiana? Girl you gotta see her! She's so awesome! Like she showed every team some skills!", Rapunzel changed the topic. She squealed excitedly. I felt my heart cracked.
"Lieutenant Toothiana is so cool! She will be our guide today with Captain Frost! We will go to the kennel ta see our dogs!", Merida said happily. "You should meet her!"
Tears threaten to fall from my eyes.
Anxiety starts to kick in.
Maybe..
Uh..
Maybe she have the same name as Jack's ex-fiancé? Right?
My heart throbbed.
No..
I have a strong feeling that she is indeed the Captain's ex-girlfriend. Multiple needles pierce my heart, I lost my words. I thought she's dead? How is she alive?
"Elsa are ye okay?...", Merida asked.
"You look pale Elsie", Punzie worriedly said. Before she could even touch me, I raise my hand. I gathered my strength, I nodded and smile.
"Of course! I will totally meet her! I can't wait for our dogs to choose us when we go to the kennel!", I fake laughed. Punzie and Merida giggled. They excitedly gave me a hug.
"We really missed you. Let's eat at the mess then proceed with training. Me and Merida did your homework", Punzie winked.
"also! You can borrow my lectures", Merida give me a pat on the back. I gently hug back, smiling sadly.
"Okay, thanks guys", My friends let go of the hug. I can't get the thought off of my mind. She's back. Toothiana is here, in this academy. I'm sure Captain Frost already meet her by this hour. Do Captain Frost really mean it? My friends is not convinced withb his confession because he's drunk. Yeah, maybe .. It was the side effect of his drowsiness. It made him say things. Maybe he's just missing her that's why he told me that. I stood up, faking smile and head with my friends to the Mess.
