Part 12

"Why?", he smirks, "You have any plans in mind?"

"My parents are going to be gone for the whole week, they'll be out of town, that means I have the whole house to myself"

"So you're going to throw a party?"

"No!", I laugh, "I'll be alone so I was going to ask if you wanted to keep me company"

He playfully rolls his eyes

"Sure, I'll come over", he smirks

I playfully hit his shoulder and he does the same back, this time I hit it harder on purpose as a joke

"Ouch!", he yells

I run making my way down the bench stairs, Joey starts chasing after me and I make my way to the football field

Before I can reach the end of the field I trip on the cones, hurting my knee

Joey catches up to me and falls purposely to lay on the field with me

"Caught you", he smiles

I laugh

"I hate you", I jokingly say

My knee starts hurting as I try to get up, it hit the ground when I tripped

"Ow", I try to get up

"What's wrong?", Joey turns to look at me

"My knee", I look at it, "It hurts, I tripped over the orange cone"

"Do you want me to help you get up?", he asks

I nod

Joey gets up and I slightly raise both my arms for him to help me get up, he fails and tries again

"Joey", I laugh, "It's okay"

He looks at me and continues to try

"Just get me an ice pack from the office", I consider

Joey nods

"I'll be back", he lets go of my arms

He runs and makes his way to the office to grab an ice pack

[Joey's p.o.v.]

Lauren hurt her knee running away from me as I chased her, I thought it was just a joke until I caught up to her and noticed that she wasn't joking

I thought it was cute, the way she was running and giggled

But when I realized that her knee hurt really bad, I knew I had to help her, I tried to help her get up but I failed

She didn't want me to continue to try but I didn't care, I can tell she wanted me to keep trying but she didn't say

And hear I am, running around the school to get her an ice pack, I feel like I'd do anything for her

"Here you go", the lady hands me an ice pack

"Thank you"

She nods and I run back to the football field, I see her sitting on the field, she looks so cute waiting patiently

[End of p.o.v]

Joey runs back to the field and I see the ice pack on his hand, he makes his way to me

I playfully roll my eyes, he actually ran around the school just to get me a pack of ice?

He hands me the ice pack

"Here", he smiles

I put the ice pack on my knee

"Thank you", I smile

"Anything for you", he sits down beside me

"I didn't think you'd actually go this far by helping me", I look down

"Why do you say that?", he asks

"Because usually any guy would have just stopped from there and gave up", I look at him

"Well, I'm different"

I smile

The sun is shining on his eyes and I just feel like going in for a kiss, except we're friends and we've never talked about our feelings toward each other

Our eyes lock, his gaze is on me and I feel like there's a spark between us. This feels so right, I pulled away the first time he tried to make a move

The bell rings

We look away, he gets up and I sit there. I feel like asking him if he felt anything but I know that if I do, I'll leave him questioning everything
