Part 4

I rush to the bathroom but before I can step inside the stall someone stops me.

"Lauren"

I turn around and Allison is standing beside the door, "Are you okay?"

"I-",she gives me a worried look, "Yes, I'm okay"

"You sure? Because you don't seem like it", she says.

I sigh and look down

She walks closer to me,"Lauren"

I look up, "I'm sorry, I feel like I'm annoying you guys"

"Why would you say that?", she questions.

"Because I'm new here and I'm being awkward, it's making me feel left out", I admit.

Ally looks confused, "Left out? We're literally sitting together at the same table"

I roll my eyes, "Yeah but I don't even know your friends too well to even have a conversation with, and I'm just in the way of it"

"Lauren, you were too busy daydreaming to even want to be talking to us, you seemed uninterested.", She says.

"So then what's your point, is it that you just went into daydream mode and felt left out of a conversation you were totally uninterested in?", she waits for an answer.

I sigh and she looks the other way, "look, forget that. I don't want to argue with you and that is not the reason why I'm here"

She turns to me, "What do you mean?"

"I can't get this one person out of my head, I think they're cute but...we just met"

It felt so good to let that out, it felt like I had to hide the feeling.

"Who?", she asks.

"I don't know if you know him...", I clench my teeth.

"I know everybody here, Lauren. Just say it", she waits.

"His name is Joey..."

She gasps, "Joey...Joey? As in Joey Birlem?!"

"Yeah...Why are you so surprised?", I ask.

Her eyes widen, "Lauren!"

I give her a confused look,"What? You're worrying me"

"He's the schools bad boy!", she yells.

"What do you mean...?", I ask furrowing my eyebrows.

Her eyes widen,"He's played hundreds of girls, AND slept with hundreds of girls. To add to that, most of them go to this school and are walking these hallways right now"

"Bullshit", I scoff.

"Lauren, I'm trying to help you here.", she says.

I cross my arms and look away

"Omg...do you have a crush on Joey?", she asks.

I look at her,"What? No"

"Then why are you trying to ignore the fact that he's slept with tons of girls", she faces me.

"Because I don't believe your little lie", I admit.

"I'm not lying to you!", she yells.

"Look, I said I don't want to argue with you, we have only been friends for TWO days and you're already ruining our friendship that we're supposed to be building.", I say to her and she stays silent.

I walk away and leave the restroom.

Did I really just argue with my only friend in this entire school?, I think to myself.
