Chapter twenty two

Start from the beginning

"Byeeee." They all shout after me. I walk through the door and close it, shutting the voices in along with it.

I begin walking, hopping from one staircase to the next.

Eventually, I make my way into the grand library and place my bag in a chair. I amble over to the romance section, and scan over all of the beautifully diverse colored books, picking up one occasionally to read it's summary.

'Elizabeth Bennet, the daughter of a country gentleman, and Fitzwilliam Darcy, a rich-'

"Psstt. Y/n." A voice whispers fairly close to me. I glance up from Pride and Prejudice, and look around with a confused expression, not seeing anyone until my gaze sets on Draco. I roll my eyes and my face soon relaxes. He is dressed in his Slytherin hoodie and a pair of grey sweatpants.

"What are you doing dr-" I ask, being quickly interrupted by his quick shush. I narrow my eyes.

"Just c'mon." He says, gesturing to follow him.

"But we have a project to finish-" I add, but he quickly vanishes through the tall shelves of books. I scoff and grab my bag from the chair, following in his direction.

I end up outside of the library doors, turning to my right to meet Draco's gaze. "Okay, what the hell? We have to finish the project for tomorrow." I inform him in an irritated tone.

"Just- worry about that later. I have a problem." He says worriedly.

"Okay, what is it?" I ask, crossing my arms.

He looks around suspiciously, checking to make sure the corridor is empty. He flips his hood down, revealing his green-stained hair and face. I hadn't noticed it until he showed me. I widen my eyes in shock, causing him to flip his hood back over his head. "So, can you help me?" He asks hopefully. I take a deep breath and nod my head in the direction of the Gryffindor towers.

We make it back to the common room, that is thankfully empty, and sneak up to my dorm. We walk in and I quickly peek my head out, looking in both directions to make sure no one had seen us. "Don't you share your dorm?" He asks, observing the room.

"Yeah, but Hermione is having a sleepover in Ginny's dorm tonight."

"Ah, yes. The littlest weaslbee." He says, nodding his head. He notices me rolling my eyes, and smirks.

"Come on, let's figure out how to fix you." I mention, walking into the bathroom.

He follows and sits down on the counter. "So, what have you tried to get it out?" I ask. He shrugs his shoulders with clueless eyes.

"I don't know." He adds.

"Did you use soap?" I ask. He widens his eyes and slowly sinks down. I see his cheeks turn pink through his green-tinted skin.

"Draco. You didn't use soap?!" I shout.

"I forgot, I was panicking." He replies innocently, causing me to giggle.

I turn around and grab a washcloth, soaking it in water and drizzling it with soap. I hand it to him. "Did you at least wash your hair?" I ask.

"Now, that I did do." I grin, making his smirk reappear. I reach for a color removing shampoo when I look back at him.

"Why are you wiping so gently?" I ask.

"I don't know." He replies, continuing to lightly swipe the washcloth over his face. With the way he's wiping, it'll take hours for him to get all of the green out. I put the bottle down and walk back over to him.

"Here. I'll do it." I take the towel from his hands and start rubbing it against his skin, the green slowly disappearing.

"Thanks." He says, looking into my eyes. We make contact for a second before I refocus on the fabric.

"No problem...Just out of curiosity, why did you ask me and not one of your friends?" I question.

"I guess, I knew they would make fun of me and make it a thing. And...maybe I was a little embarrassed. " He responds, looking down at his hands nervously.

"Yeah, because they're asses." I raise my brow at him. "Am I wrong?" I ask, making eye contact with him. He rolls his eyes.

I snicker, wiping a final strip of green away from his cheek. "There. Now, for your hair." I pick up the white bottle, holding it up with a mischievous grin. He widens his eyes, tensing his body. "Don't worry it's just color remover. It won't mess up your precious blonde hair." I add reassuringly, causing him to relax.

Eventually, I finished his hair, back to his normal platinum blonde. He hops off the counter, admiring his appearance in the mirror. "Thanks, Dobby." I punch his arm playfully before walking out of the bathroom and turning off the light. I glance at the wall. 10:30.

"Shit. We don't have any more time to finish the project." I state, placing my hand over my forehead.

"Oh yeah, about that, I finished it after class without you. I felt bad for not returning." He admits.

"You did?" I ask.

"Yep. And don't worry it's all correct. I snuck a peek and Blaise and Hermione's project." He reassures.

"Thanks." I say with a smile.

"I should probably get back." He mentions.

"Yeah, probably." I reply, as he reaches for the doorknob. "Be careful, Filch is always roaming around the tower at this time." I warn.

"I'll keep that in mind, Goodnight love." He whispers before the door shuts behind him.
