5 years later

I play in Aiden's hair, is head laying against my chest, as we both catch our breaths. The golden rays of sun shine in through the window, the view of the breathtaking sunset about to come.

"We're going to miss our reservation if you don't get up." I giggle, listening to him groan against me.

"I'm good right here." He mumbles, his lips brushing against the valley of my breasts.

I'm sure you are.

It's our last day in Venice, before we go back home, and we've been meaning to watch the sunset during dinner ever since we first arrived. However, as the days went by, we got preoccupied with other activities in the villa.

"Okay," I groan, trying to sit up from under his weight. He keeps his arms wrapped around my hips, his face now pressing against my stomach. "Come on, move."

He mumbles something as he raises himself from the bed, the soft white sheets falling against my lap, as I watch him nakedly walk into the bathroom. I swear, for a thirty-three year old, he doesn't listen well. I grab my phone off the nightstand, smiling as my eyes linger over the many pictures we've taken here.

The steady best of the shower water intensifies, my head lifting to see Aiden leaning against the door frame.

"You coming?" He asks, eyebrow raised slightly. "For someone so ready to go, your ass is still in the bed."

I giggle, rolling my eyes as I saunter over to him. I run my fingers over his stubble, the new feature making my bite down on my lip. He let it grow out after Ryan was born, being preoccupied with a new baby and all, but he looks sexier with it, so I made him keep it.

I press light kisses to his lips, his hand roaming from the dip in my back to my butt. "I love you."

"I love you, too." He replies, his other hand cupping under my butt, before lifting me in the air. I gasp slightly, securely wrapping my arms and legs around him.

"Aiden, no, we don't have time for this." I say, laughing under my breath as I know he's not listening to a word I'm saying.

"Time for what? I'm just taking a shower with my wife."

Wife. It's surreal to officially be that.

A year after Ryan was born, Aiden popped the question during the family ski trip to Colorado. It was one amazing Christmas gift, that's for sure. Ever since, I've been planning for the big day with Jocelyn and Laura. The wedding would've been a lot sooner if Aiden hadn't got another promotion, prompting him to go on lengthy business trips and conventions.

It was hard at first, taking care of Ryan and being home alone, so I pushed the wedding planning aside until he was fully settled back home. And after I finished with my second pregnancy. After this and that, I made sure we were getting married by the next year—and that we did.

"Mm hmm," I hum as we step into the shower. A soft hint of vanilla fills my nose as I watch water droplets trail down his broad shoulders, waiting for him to put me down. "You gonna put me down?"

The overhead shower isn't helping my case of trying to leave. Silence falls between us as the water gracefully falls over him, my bottom lip captured in between my teeth as I follow a drop down his chest, to his abs.

It's hot in here.

I meet Aiden's eyes for a split second, right before he connects his lips to my neck. My eyes roll to the back of my head before they close, blissfully. My back presses against the cool, dark gray tile of the shower; my fingers raking against his back as he kisses further down.
