Do not forget to remind yourself that it’s okay to get hurt. It’s okay if your stomach feels like it’s churning in on itself, or your chest feels tight. It’s okay to cry yourself to sleep. But as long as you can keep breathing, as long as you can still stay alive, no matter how much it hurts, you will be fine. One day when all the hurt fades, and your heart won’t feel like it’s bleeding out all over your chest, you can love yourself more than you ever did. You will be okay. Maybe not today, but you will.
