Parte 14 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"First I will tell you about the original history and then about me, okay?" Andy told me in gravely voice. I could tell he was tired but, I needed to know what was happening. For past few days I had been going along without questions or hesitations, but now I needed to know what was going on.

"Back before Earth was inhabited or even existed as a planet, they were around. They were around exploring and discovering even before they knew everything about themselves. They are called the Deave. I know this will sound corny, but they literally are from a galaxy far away. The old woman you heard the other day in the woods and banging on the door is an original descendant. Life in there galaxy wasn't good. The were developing ahead of what the could handle and soon the population became almost nonexistent.

Of the remaining survivors, only one emerged as the leader. She knew what had to happened in order to repopulate their planet. They needed more like them. Donors. This is what led them to Earth. They watched us develop from a mere monarchical society in Europe to a fully developed democratic civilization around the world.

By the time they got to me, it was 1804. There was a frenzy about everyone in the city because of Napoleon. Riots and deaths were rampant but at my home everything was fine. We were happy actually. We lived in the country. Our house was settled perfectly in the crook of two small hills and our farm was right outside the door," He said and I watched his eyes glass over in memory. "It was just my parents, my sister, and me. One night though, something bad happened.

A fire blazed over our house. I woke up to the smell of smoke. I ran to my fathers study with my fingers in a snare over my mouth. The smoke was seeping through everything. I walked into his study to see him slumped over a pile of papers with his candle turned over. 'Father?' I yelled through the air. He didn't respond. I walked over to his body and realized that he wasn't breathing. I panicked and knelt down beside his unconicous body. I called for him over and over as the supports in the wall began to break.

I suddenly heard a shrill scream from upstairs and ran away from my father and to the sound of my sister's screams. I knew it was my sister because my mother had been away from home with her ill sister.

I ran through the flames to get to my young sister. Her door was stuck and I pushed hard through the fire raging the door to bust it open. I finally stumbled into the room where my sister was. She sat in the middle of floor with her hair singed from flames. I ran to her crying body and scooped her small frame into my arms.

I stumbled out the room and to the stairs, but as soon as we got there, the steps fell through. They crumbled apart and sank down to the bottom floor. My sister clung to me crying and sobbing. I didn't know what to do," Andy said as tears streamed unconciously from his eyes. I looked down to his hands that he was harshly rubbing. Scars showed the had been unknown to me previously.

"As our hopes dwindled, Many men who worked are farm busted the front door in and scrambled into the burning house. 'Hey boys, up here!' I yelled and they looked up to me. They scrambled to us and threw a rope up for me to catch. I turned to my sister to have her climb down when she suddenly began coughing violently. I saw blood come into her hand and grabbed her to me quickly. I pushed the hair out of her face.

'Oui! You get ya'self downa here! This house is 'bout to fall in any minute, ya her?' One of the guys screamed to me. 'My sister's ill! We need to get a doc here!' I screamed back to them. 'Well we can't get 'er betta wit' the house collapsed on ya'!'  They yelled.

Behind me I heard a loud crash. I turned to hear a muffled scream from my sister. A beam landed on her leg. I yelled 'She's stuck' but, they didn't listen. One of them grabbed my ankle and I slid down to the ground. I was pulled out of the house screaming for Annie.

They didn't get to her in time. She didn't make it" Andy said and I scooted next to him and hugged him. He pulled my on to his lap and put his head on my shoulder. I felt his tears soaking my hair but, I didn't mind. I rubbed up and down his back trying to calm him.

Eventually Andy lifted his head embarrassed but finished his story. "After I found out about my sister, I ran. I ran as far as I could. I didn't go back for my mom or anyone.

I ended up in the city. A small slum full of vagrants and families to big to survive anywhere else. I'm sad to say that time was dark for me. I was scraggly and unkempt. I always reeked of alcohol and other various odors.

But, then I was saved. One day a woman came to me. She was different. She reminded me of a gypsy with her dark wrinkled skin and wild black hair.  She came to me at a good time, though. I was sober for once and in a right state of mind. She promised me things that I couldn't say no to.

She told me their history and promised me life at a special academy. To repopulate their homeland, they needed humans. Not normal humans though. They needed humans who wouldn't move on to a new life. Humans who they knew to reincarnate, but they could stop," He stopped when he saw my confused face.

"Do you know what reincarnation is?" Andy asked me. I waved my hand in a motion to signify that I sort of did. "Reincarnation is the idea of a soul reliving itself in another life. The soul knows who it is but, the body or animal their in doesn't realize it," He told me and I nodded.

"So, to find souls who reincarnate the woman had to find a human and then wait for them die. The woman, her name is Nita by the way, knew somehow which souls were more likely to reincarnate and not just die out with the body it lived in. Thats where you and I come in. I am a soul reincarnate. I have been living since 1787 and haven't aged since 1805. She keeps me living until its impossible for my soul to reincarnate which is soon.

You are a soul reincarnate, also. But, your more important than me," He said and I nodded. It was so much information to process but I had one question that I felt I needed to ask now. I knew I should ask why I was more important but, it wasn't the question scratching at my brain.

I signaled to him that I needed some pen and paper. Andy reached into one of the backpacks and pulled out what I needed. 'Andy, I understand why you went with her in the first place. It was a bad time. But, when we were leaving she said the aging process would start again. I was just wondering why that would be such a bad thing' I scribbled down and passed it to him.

"Ah, this is a question I've been asked before Mari. When they start the process again, it occurs faster than normal. I age until when my natural death would have been within a span of year. It starts slowly and then takes off a lot within the last month. But, thats not the part I'm worried about.

I choose this life not because I was a drunk or because I wanted eternal life. I chose this life because of a promise. A promise Nita made that changed my life. She promised me my sister. My sisters soul was a soul reincarnate and that promise she made was that if I find her soul, she would be given a longer life. A life with me," Andy said and I realized how completely more challenging this journey was going to be.

"That's enough for now though. I will tell you the rest, like why we left. But lets save that for tomorrow. We need to get some sleep. We have another long journey tomorrow," Andy told me with a concerned voice. I nodded and curled up next to him in the tent. It had gotten cold and now I had Andy as a heater.
