"You sure Dr.Jay not gone say nothing. You know you supposed to be working." She says as she put another pineapple in her mouth

"Girl I run this hospital! Dr.Jay can get beat up." I said as I felt a throat behind me clear "Oh shit! Hey Dr.Jay. How you doing girl?" I asked as she looked at me with a raised brow and chuckled

"You better be glad you're my favorite, otherwise I would have fired your ass." She says as she moved my chair a little to see who I was on the phone with

"You love me too much girl, you wouldn't do that." I say as I opened my arms for her to hug me but she lightly nudged my head instead

"Hey, Shayla!" She says as Shay looked up from what she was doing and started waving at her

"Hey boo! I told her to focus so many times she didn't even listen girl." Shay says as she shook her head and opened another can of pineapples

"Bitch." I say in a whisper and made a face at Shay

Once I got home I placed the food I got for Alexis on the counter and sent her a quick text letting her know it was downstairs because I know she was taking her daily after-school nap. I went upstairs to my room and I stripped out of my scrubs and put them into the hamper, and went to take a shower. I played my R&B playlist and the first song to play was "Use Your Heart" by SWV

"Who is calling me? Stopping my music." I say to myself as I grabbed the towel and wrapped it around myself

"Hello" I answered without looking

"Hey, baby." I heard Malcom's voice say through the phone causing me to smile

"Hey love, how are you?" I asked him as I heard a lot of moving around in the back and I got a FaceTime notification from him and we switched to face

"I'm doing good, I'm still at work these people working me." He says with a deep sigh and threw his head back

"Trust me, babe it's all worth it in the end." I say as I noticed he was looking tired "Have you been getting any rest?" I asked him and he shook his head no "Why not Malcom?"

"This trial Mr.Rowland has me working on is stressful. 13 year old is on trial for killing his mother." He says and my heart dropped

"Oh my god! Wait! Can you tell me this information?" I asked and he looked at me with a really nigga face

"It's on the news love, it's no secret. I just can't say why he did it. That's still classified information."

"That's understandable. Do you want me to pick you up Jersey Mike's or subway and I bring it to you?" I asked him and he nodded "Okay let me continue my shower and once I get out I'll get ready and bring your food."

"Before you go. Can I see a nipple or an ass cheek?" He says as I started laughing at how his face didn't show the tiring look it showed 2 seconds ago
