It's officially New Year's Eve. Everyone was gathered at Shay's sister Jasmines house. It was 11:00 p.m meaning in one more hour it's the New Year.
2016 has had a few bumps in the road for Monica but she tried to make the best of what she could near the end. She has been through a terrible breakup with her childhood sweetheart, a fallen out with her sister, her mother coming back, and more.
But she was willing to let her positive outweigh the bad. She has met a pure and wholesome man, has a successful life, her brother is back, and most importantly she is close to finding herself.
As everyone was in their own conversation Monica was near a window looking out towards the dark sky as the stars shined bright. As she observed closely she she saw a shooting star. They say when seeing a shooting star it means "positive vibes and good luck for anyone who gazes upon one". When seeing that shooting star Monica felt a relive come over her body.
To know going into 2017 she will have no worries or stress. Now she may have her challenges every now and then but it couldn't be nothing she cannot overcome. After meeting with Mrs.Blaine for the past few months. Shes starting to see the positive in a lot of things or we can say is trying to see the positive in things.
After the whole Christmas incident she immediately made an appointment with Mrs.Blaine. Monica didn't like how she blacked out nor did she like how someone who doesn't know a damn thing about her decides to try and speak low of her. Monica has not gotten into a fight since high school and to see her streak break it upsets her.
But it's all good now. Although many say new year new me. In reality you're the same you until you show improvement and progress in yourself.
"Hey beautiful I saw you over here looking all alone. I was wondering do you have a man?" Shay says making Monica laugh a little
"I do, but he doesn't have to know." Monica says with a wink as the both of them laugh
"You're crazy. I was coming over because I saw you over here in deep thought and I wanted to check up on you." Shay says as she took a sip of her champagne
"I'm fine boo. Just recapping this whole year and processing it. In about an hour Shay it will be a new year. Meaning new memories, opportunities and more. 2016 was my shit year." Monica says with a small sigh
"You're still alive. Although you've had bad this year believe it or not you had a lot of good. You didn't even have to bring out Noelle...except for last week but that's okay!" Shay says making Monica eyeball her
"We're not gonna talk about Noelle." Monica says with an eye roll
"Out of all that I said you just got Noelle?" Shay asked as she smacked her lips
"Hey ladies." Jasmine says as she walked over to where Shay and Monica were
"Hey gorgeous. Looking all pretty. Do a twirl." Monica says to Jasmine as she did what Monica said
