Echo x Half Robot! Reader

I see Angela deflate almost like she wanted to fight him on that, but he's right. Genji could at least get used to his body for missions, but I can't even walk, I'm just a failure.

I close my eyes and I let sleep take over, maybe if I wait long enough I can wake up and this will all be a nightmare. I hear a McCree and Angela talking a bit more as darkness take over.

~Time skip, about 4 hours~
I wake up to voices around me. The light behind my eyes doesn't feel as harsh as the med bay's light so I can only assume they took me to my room. It feels like someone is trying to prey my eyes open but it's all just me.

"(Y/n)! Good to see you're awake, we have some broth for you to drink, I know it's not like eat I guess but a liquid diet will be better then not eating."

Still I say say nothing as Angela brings me a container, does it smell good or am I making the smell up? I sigh and try and sit up to drink, at least to stop her nagging for a bit. I take the straw and start drinking until I hear what sounds like a hovercar landing behind my door. An omnic comes into my room and looks around then at me.

"Hi! I'm Echo. Can't wait to work with you soon."

She has a cute blue holographic face and the way she spoke was almost human, but like to the right. I kinda just look at her as she smiles. I take the straw out of my mouth as I try and take her personality in.

"Angela told me you need a bit of help, and I may not know everything that happened, but I'm always eager to learn. That's why Dr Liau built me."

Her bright smile contradicts the metaphorical grey cloud over my head so I just try and look away from her. She suddenly cocks her head to the right and floats in front of me again. She starts doing sign language as she talks.

"Can you speak? If you can't I'm more then happy use sign language!"

She's just so.... happy. God it warms my heart how much she wants to help me, but why? I'm just some freak now, I can't even stand up on my own. I'm just waiting until they fire me because I'm incompetent.

"Hey Echo. Can I have a word with ya? Jefe forgot to let you know 'bout somethin' and I'm in a hurry to check on the recruits."

"Sure McCree."

She goes off with him, out of my room. I lay down and close my eyes. It's the only thing I can do without feeling numb. Hoping I can wake up and all of this was just a horrible dream. Just as I feel the clutches of sleep I hear Angela's voice.

"(Y/n)? Are you done with the broth?"

"I think."

"Alright. Thank you for drinking some, it means a lot."

I look at the liquid and the straw. I really don't see the point in trying to keep me here.

"So (y/n), would you like to try your new legs again? I think this time it will be better."

I shake my head. I don't want to, I can't. It'd just be a waste of time.

"No thank-"

"I can help him."

"You would? Thank you so much Echo."

Angela gives Echo a smile before patting my shoulder, she leaves my room and I'm left with Echo. A small sigh escapes my lips as I watch her float up to me.

"Why don't we introduce ourselves? I'm Echo and I was created to be adaptable in combat, I even have a special ability to copy someone and have their abilities like Reaper or Sombra."
