Mercy x Reader

Not requested by anyone I just had the idea at 4am. Hope you enjoy.

~(y/n) POV~

Smiling I hold the bouquet of roses behind my back as I walk to Angela's house. Today marks our two year anniversary of being an official married couple and I wanted to surprise her with a romantic evening. As I'm about to knock on the door it swings open revealing a beautiful Angela. Her eyes went wide as she quickly pulls me into her house slamming the door shut.

"What's wrong with you liebe? Don't you remember what would happen to you if Overwatch saw us together?"

"Yeah yeah they'll hold me hostage and torture me for information about Talon. Remember what I told you Talon would do to me if they found out I was dating you?"

She doesn't answer me as I hug her close to me. She hugs back as she rubs her stomach.

"Liebe. Guess whose going to be a father in eight months?"

"No way. Danke, meine Liebe. I promise to be the best father in the universe."

I pick her up and spin her around. She giggles as I pull her into a passionate kiss.

"Come on meine liebe. I have the perfect day planned for us."

~Time skip to a wooded park~

Angela holds onto my arm as we walk through the secluded part of the park. I heard a quiet conversation behind us as I suddenly became paranoid. I look behind us to see Talon grunts. I move Angela a bit further in front of me as I grab my knives.

"(Y/n)? Are you ok?"

"No I'm not. We're be followed by Talon grunts and I think they want to hurt you."

She slowly grabs her staff and tries to think of a way to get us out of here until a loud whistling noise breaks the silence. I look up and see a fucking grenade falling at Angela. I quickly push her out of the way as I throw my knives at the grunts killing them.

The grenade exploded five feet next to me. My vision becomes blurry and my hearing starts to go as I realize I couldn't feel my right arm or leg. Everything comes back to me when Angela starts shaking me.

"Please (y/n) just hang on! I know you can make it because,"

She grabbed her staff and used all its healing on my chest.

"HEROS NEVER DIE!"

It did nothing to me as tears fell down her face.

"No no no. This wasn't supposed to happen. Mein gott, das sollte nicht passieren."

I chuckles softly as I pull her into a short but sweet kiss. I whisper with my last breath.

"I'm no hero."

As the world becomes black around me I see Angela trying to call out to me. I look to the sky and let my tears fall. I saved my queen and my little prince/princess. I close my eyes one last time as I feel the icy embrace of death.

~Narrator POV~
Angela cry's for her fallen lover as on patrol Overwatch agents find her. She never tells them how she was associated with the fallen man later identified as (y/n) (y/l/n) a Talon member. Angela did have her child and named the little boy Gilbert (y/n) Ziegler. The only person who knew about the father was Sombra and she made a promise to always protect the child when Angela couldn't. Angela's heart never became whole again as she never remarried or dated. When her son turned 10 was when she told the story to the other Overwatch agents.

~Happy ending~
"HEROS NEVER DIE"

As I feel the staff hit my chest I open my eyes. The pain in my body is still there as I see it didn't heal me completely but enough to keep me alive.

"I heard something over here love. Let's go check it out."

"Fine but if it's nothin you owe me another 10 bucks."

I look to side to see a small woman with a glowing thing on her chest and a cowboy looking man.

"Angela?! What are you doing her especially with him?"

"I'll explain later just please help me save him."

"What? Angela you do realize he's a.."

"DID I FUCKING STUTTER? JUST HELP ME."

They both stoppped talking as the cowboy picks me up and rushes me to a car. Angela and the British girl hop in as I slowly fade in and out of consciousness.

"Don't worry meine liebe. I'll patch you up."

I slowly nod my head as I fall unconscious.

~Time skip~

I jolt awake as I feel my entire body get a rush of electricity. I look around and see Angela with bags under her eyes and tears streaming down her face smile at me.

"Angie. What happened?"

"You were in a coma for a few weeks after I operated on you. E-everyone told me to give up on you b-but I just couldn't I love you too much."

She practically jumps on me as I hold her close. I look at my body and see I no longer have my right arm or leg. I look at the robotic prosthetics and smile softly.

"(Y-y/n). Thank you for protecting me."

"I love you too much to let you be taken away from this world. "

We stare each other in the eyes as we shared a deep and passionate kiss until someone coughs. Looking at the door I see Soldier 76 without his visor staring confused at Angela.

"So this was your Mr.Perfect? He's not what I expected but if he makes you happy I guess you two can stay together."

"R-really? Oh thank you Jack!"

"Yeah but I have a favor to ask of him. I want you to join Overwatch since you two are already married."

I laugh but nod my head as 76 immediately leaves the room. I kiss Angela again as she slowly starts to fall asleep in my arms. I move us to a comfortable position as I hold her close to me. This life has been eventful and unexpected but I wouldn't have it any other way.
