honor
which we think
is synonymous
with virtue
suffering
which we think
is the same as
fighting
"there is a
light
at the end of the
tunnel,"
philosophers
tell us
but where is the
light
if god is
gone
where is
heaven
if the sky is
empty
devoid of angels
devoid of the
departed?
where is
hell
if satan
followed the
almighty sir
off into the
endless expanse
of the universe?
where do our
prayers
go?
who listens
to our hopes and
sorrows
is it a court
in the sky
deciding
who is worth
their
happy ending?
and if that's
so
what makes us
good enough
for a happy ending?
the oceans are
polluted
the ice caps are
melting
this world is
dying
people are
crying out
for us to just
listen
to take our
noses
out of our
playboy
magazines
and look around
we have to
realize
that we are
alone
there is no
man
in the
sky
watching over
us
every second
cradling our
lives
in his hands
waiting to
catch us
if we fall
too far
the way
adam and eve
fell from
eden
god
abandoned us
and whether you
believe
in him or
not
we can all
agree
that
right now
we could use
a little bit of
faith
