It's morning already and Leo isn't up. Ray paces up and down the hall outside the guest room. Ray contemplates pushing his head in slightly through the door and maybe checking on Leo. Ray can't help but worry. It has been a while since Leo felt overwhelmed, a while since Ray had to race to the hospital because Leo's emotions were overpowering him. Ray thinks that maybe these past six years where Leo only ended up in the emergency room once a year were a sign, a sign that things could get like this.

Ray shakes his head. Ray wishes Leo would just open the door and talk to him.

Ray tries to retrace their conversation from last night; tries to imagine what he should have said differently. Ray isn't sure he really understands what Leo is going through. Why would he insist on comparing a freak accident to anything Leo himself could've done? Ray's thought has only just ended when the lock clicks and Leo steps out.

Ray's heart breaks instantly. Leo's eyes are puffy and red. Ray can still see the remnants of tears on Leo's cheeks. Ray reaches out to touch Leo's cheeks. He hopes he can convey something, anything just by this. Leo almost relaxes into Ray's hand – till he stands up straight and leaves Ray all alone.
