The blaring sounds of my phone's alarm clock woke me up. "Oh god..." I groaned. I laid in bed with my own thoughts just not wanting to get up. It was the last day of classes until next year and after two more days, I'll be making the dreadful family holiday trip to South Korea with my family. YAY! Please do note of the sarcasm. I mean don't get me wrong a family trip to everyone it sounds fun, like finally you have time to spend with your family over the holidays, Christmas, lights, stockings and whatever shit. But for me, it was anything but. I would have to suck it up and face my father who I haven't seen in – I picked up my phone and check – about two weeks and we live in the freaking same house! But yes, I didn't see him for two weeks, damn, I didn't even feel his presence. He must have not come home.

Anyway, my dad is a businessman that seems and sounds important to our community/ society. Whatever I don't really know the details. All I know is wherever he goes reporters and journalists follow just to get a good scope of what he's up to. I mean he goes to big charity events, donates a lot of money to crippled animals and children's homes and I think once he shook hands with the president. In papers and blogs, my family portraits the perfect and ideal family. My father the family man, my mother the loving housewife, my brother the athlete and me the straight A student. Every social event that was deemed important, my dad would force both my brother and I to go and keep up appearances. It would keep up his 'good citizen slash good father slash family man' image. However, he was anything but those things.

When I was 11, I caught him fucking his secretary on the countertop in the kitchen. He saw me and told me not to tell mum. Being 11 and stupid, I just listened, I didn't know anything honestly except they were having intercourse. When I was 14, I caught him again. This time with some random hooker because she was wearing these leopard stockings and this deep shade of red lipstick. I told my mum, I didn't care anymore, I was old enough now. When I told my mum, if she was shocked, she didn't show it. She confronted my dad in his study room with closed doors but I was outside eavesdropping. I heard my mum crying but my dad just shrugged it off like it was nothing. My brother doesn't know of my father's infidelity and I hope to keep it that way because he absolutely worships that piece of shit and it would break his heart to know of the infidelity.

Five years later, both of them are still together but are in an 'open marriage'. But only on dad's side though, my mum still loved him like the lovesick stupid puppy she was. She would wash his clothes, clean his room and sometimes even wash his sex buddies' lingerie. That sick fucking pathetic excuse of a father. Every year during Christmas week, we would travel to other countries. I always guessed it was because my father wanted to feel what other pussies at different parts of the world feel like because again, he would not be present when we go sightseeing. At first it bothered me and now I don't even know that he's gone.

After laying in my bed for what felt like half an hour, I finally got up and get ready for classes. I bathed and brushed my teeth. Then I put on some moisturizer and sunscreen because where I'm from even though it's December, it's still hot as hell sometimes, except for the occasional downpour. I stood in front of my wardrobe for what felt like hours deciding what I wanted to wear but in the end just decided on a pair of casual jogging shorts and a plain T – shirt. Well since it's the last day why bother dressing up.

I walked down the stairs to find my mother preparing breakfast – eggs, toast and sausages, and my brother, Aaron, eating them. He got out of school early because his school got flooded. Yes, the flood was bad last week but I still had classes to attend.

You got this Aurelia two more classes and then you're done until next year, I told myself internally.

I sat down beside my brother and we ate breakfast together.

"Are you excited for the trip, lil bro?" I asked my brother. He was 17 but I still treated him like a kid. I mean he will always be one to me even though sometimes I scold him for being childish.

"Yeah! I honestly just can't wait to eat some authentic Korean street food!!!" He said with full enthusiasm. "OH! OH! I can't wait to meet BLACKPINK!! AH!!!!" he practically squealed like a girl.

"Umm, lil dude, how are you gonna do that? You say meet as if you got tickets to their fan signing event and I know for a fact that you didn't." I said while stuffing and egg into my mouth, making sure the yolk doesn't break.

"I don't know maybe fate will bring Lisa and I together. Maybe I can go camp outside their company and wait for them." He shrugs.

"Okay Aaron. Knock yourself out." I laughed. I checked the time on the wall clock and saw that it was 8:00a.m.

"Well would you look at the time Lia, time to go if you don't want to be late." My mum said as though reading my mind.

"Sure mum, ughh. Stupid traffic jams." I groaned.

Grabbing another piece of toast and stuffing it into my mouth, I said goodbye to both my mother and brother and headed out to my car. The drive the class was grossly long because everyone was going to work at the same time but I made it to class on time. Well, I did leave an hour earlier so that I won't be late.

I reached college and parked my car and walked to class.

"Lia!!!" screamed my best friend, Amy. Damn the girl was like a megaphone. I turned around and saw her running towards me with this big smile plastered on her face. Amy has been my best friend ever since college. We met during orientation and instantly hit off. Considering me to be mostly closed off and awkward during first encounters, I'm still pretty amazed that both of us could be close friends so quickly.

Amy was naturally an extrovert while I had to depend on my mood. Sometimes I'm feeling talkative while others I feel like an introvert just trying to avoid all conversation with all human beings. She was the life of the party. She had good grades even though she always went out partying almost every night. I occasionally tag along when I'm bored and feeling up for drinking. Otherwise, I would stay at home and read. Amy doesn't mind she knows that sometimes I'm just not in my mood and she doesn't force me to go unless she needs a wing woman.

"AMY!!!" I returned her an equally enthusiastic greeting.

"Last day of classes till next year baby!! But why does it gotta be on a Friday though? I mean I'm not complaining about Mr. Sebastian's class but the dude talks in such a monotonous voice that it's too early for this shit!! I just woke up and I think I might fall back asleep once he starts teaching." Amy said in one breath.

"Well, I couldn't agree with you more." I laughed. "But at least you have me and we can talk about Johnson's party you went last night. Anything gossip worthy happened?"

Beck Johnson, typical rich boy with a hot influencer for a girlfriend. He was a DJ and co – owned a nightclub with some of his friends. To me, I think it's because daddy gave him the capital to start the nightclub. There's no way someone at the age of 20 would be able to co – own a nightclub and it was the hottest nightclub in town. He's getting his diploma at the same college I'm attending majoring in business so I don't have any classes with him but I've seen him around campus with his posse. As the saying goes "birds of a feather flock together", his posse consisted of all the riches and well – off people in our entire college. Dressing from head to toe in designer goods and driving foreign cars, they are at the top of our hierarchy.

"OMG!! YESS!! I HAVE SO MUCH TO TELL YOU!! Yesterday was freaking wild!!" Amy got excited just saying it. I just laughed and we walked to class together.
