April's POV

Raph burst into the classroom, covered in sweat, cafeteria debris and blood.

I didn't shock me. Some dimwit had managed to live streaming most of the fight so practically everyone saw what should have been a private punch up.

He walked quickly over to me, ignoring the shocked and awed stared of our classmates.

'The others are outside' he whispered 'We gotta get outta here'

'No shit' I replied, hoisting Donnie's back pack onto my shoulder

We left - no one tried to stop us.

After retrieving our weapons from under the dumpster the guys and I made our way back to the lair. It took an aweful long time, what with avoiding cop car and the fact Leo could barely stand.

Donnie scuttled off into the lab, while the rest of us flopped into the TV pit

'Ugh I want to be a mutant again!' Leo groaned

'We were so much cooler as ninja turtles, being just ninjas is boring' Mikey whined

'Humans are so weak!' Raph exclaimed 'no offence April

I threw a pillow at him.

'Guys get in here!' We heard Donnie shout

We rushed into the lab, half carrying half dragging Leo.

'Ok so I just loaded the ray gun with the fioneritorine' Donnie explained 'we should be right to transform back'

'Isn't it bad to change bodies with a broken rib?' I asked skeptically, gesturing to Leo

'Oh, it should be fine..probably' Donnie muttered, checking the settings of his invention

'Probably?' Leo repeated nervously

'Well, we seemed to have a faster recovery rate before we changed, so theoretically I think it'd be better to heal in our mutant forms' Donnie clarified,

'No more school' Mikey said dreamily, 'no more stalkers, no more weirdos'

'There's still you, shell for brains' Raph teased

'Hey! At least I'm not all like oh Raph I'm so preeeetty be my giiiirrrllfriend' Mikey teased

'Oh shut up' the hothead shot back, his expression made it clear he was remembering something unpleasant

'Here' Donnie said, ignoring his brothers ruckus and handing me the ray gun 'turn the knob and flick the switch and when you're ready then just pull the trigger'

I nodded.

Donnie ushered the others over to the back wall, Mikey and Raph still bitch fighting immaturely.

'I don't know how I feel pointing a laser gun at you guys' I said uncertainly

'Better you than Casey' Leo confessed

'Anyway I'd rather be incinerated by a faulty laser gun than spend another day at high school' Raph added

'Your faith in me is truely inspiring' Donnie muttered

'Ready guys?' I said as I slipped my phone back into my pocket (I'd just snapped a pic - for memories sake)

'Shell yeah' Mikey yelled

'Ok' I aimed the ray 'three, two, one...'

I pulled the trigger.

Leo's POV

We were smothered in bright yellow light.

I was both out of breath and full of energy at the same time.

I wanted to scream, but I couldnt

My body tingled, like when you move your foot after its fallen asleep, but it was everywhere.

Suddenly my back felt like it was gonna explode. My head ached and my ribs screamed in protest.

I fell to my knees gasping for breath.

As gold light had dissipated, so did my awareness of the world around me.

You sure they're alright, it's been I long time

Why am I so tired?

Yeah, this happened last time remember

Why does everything hurt?

I guess...

Why am I so hungry?

I cracked my eyelids open. Everything was fuzzy. Someone was standing over me

'April?' I croaked

'Leo! You're awake!' April's voice cried in relief 'I was starting to worry!'

I tried to sit up but groaned as pain shot through my chest.

'Stay still' April ordered, crouching down beside me 'do you remember what happened?'

'Ugh..' I groaned, my head hurt and I could barely think 'people, Rahzar, live stream...' I trailed off

'Pretty much' I guys voice chuckled. Casey was here too 'saw that fight, pretty cool, you got some good air'

'Casey!' April scolded

'What?'

'Piiiizzzaaaaa' I heard a muffled voice 'ugghhh, I feel terrible'

'Hey Mikey' Casey grinned

'Sup dude'

By the time we were all awake, I remembered everything.

I now sat at the kitchen table, squirming awkwardly as Donnie tried to check my ribs.

'Should heal in a couple weeks' he informed, through a mouthful of pizza

I nodded and turned back to the conversation at hand.

I was surprisingly relaxed for someone who'd just gone from mutant to human, scored 90% on a maths test then turned back into a mutant.

'Being a regular dude was fun and all' Mikey was saying 'but never again ok?'

'Agreed' Raph sighed 'though I'll miss not being so handsome that people screamed at the sight of me'

Mikey snickered, flicking Raph in the head 'I don't think that's why they scream, ugly'

'You little-'
