LYNNE HAD ASKED RICKY to visit her in Chicago during spring break. Ricky, however, didn't want to go alone, and asked Aimee if she wanted to come with him. Lynne was slightly hesitant, but agreed when Ricky told that he wouldn't come without his girlfriend. Which is why, Aimee and Ricky were currently sat side by side on a plane, ready to fly to Chicago. "Next time you convince me to do something, we should go by car" Aimee told her boyfriend

"I didn't know that you didn't like flying" Ricky defended "But what about our London trip? That's like 8 hours"

"Oh you were serious about actually taking me?" Aimee asked

Ricky nodded "Well yeah, it was a special trip for you, I want to be able to take you" he said

Aimee smiled brightly "I think I can cope with that one, but I'm already nervous now as it is"

"Why? You've met my mom before" Ricky told her

"Yeah but I just get a vibe that she doesn't like me" Aimee sighed

"That is not true!" Ricky assured her

Aimee nodded and started to relax but fate didn't seem to be on her side this time round, and the plane started to shake, due to turbulence "oh shit"

Ricky grabbed her hand and drew circles on the back of it softly "It's okay, deep breaths, baby" he continued to do that until the turbulence came to a stop.

THE PLANE LANDED AT 5:30 in Chicago, and Lynne had said that they would go for a meal before they headed to her place. Aimee and Ricky left the plane and grabbed their luggage for the week before walking to the arrivals gate to find his mom. "Ricky" Lynne grinned hugging her son tightly as soon as she saw him

"Hi mom" Ricky grinned, hugging her back just as tightly. Aimee stood to the side awkwardly.

Lynne turned and looked at his sons girlfriend "Aimee" she nodded. She grabbed Ricky luggage and started to walk away without another word.

"I told you, she doesn't like me" Aimee sighed

Ricky grabbed her hand and with his other hand grabbed her luggage. "Just give it time, how can anyone not love you?"

Aimee nodded, but couldn't shake the anxiety off her as they climbed into the car.

The whole way to the diner, Lynne made conversation with Ricky, and completely ignored Aimee. Ricky kept bringing Aimee into the conversation but then Lynne would change the topic. Aimee just shook her head at Ricky, telling him to just leave it and stop trying. When they arrived at the diner, they sat down and looked through the menu until the waiter came over "Are you ready to order?"

"Actually, we are waiting for one more" Lynne said. The waiter nodded and walked away

Ricky stared at his mom confused "You invited Todd? You said it's just be us" he said hurt

"If you can bring your girlfriend then I can bring my boyfriend" Lynne shrugged as if it were nothing

Ricky looked crushed at the news, he wasn't the biggest fan of Todd, not that he'd done anything, but just because his mom had moved on too quick for his liking. He probably wouldn't have minded Todd being there if his mom had said originally, but she just sprung it on him. Aimee grabbed his hand under the table and gave it a squeeze. "I'm gonna use the bathroom before we order" Ricky sighed, he kissed Aimee's hand and left the table.

"What are you doing here?" Lynne asked once Ricky was gone

"Ricky asked me to come" Aimee said
