The shadows curled towards the boy as he walked down the stone steps of an underground ravine. The sound of his boots clicking against the smooth and cobble floor filled the cavern.
The shadows seemed to whisper and hiss at one another. They seemed to have arms that reached for the boy. The shadows were dark and deep, filled with mystery and a possible threat.
The boy didn't notice these movements or sounds however, as he reached the bottom and greeted his companions. They welcomed him back and the cavern filled with laughter and banter, chat, and the frigid feeling of being watched. Though, no one had found their home.
