Chapter Twenty-Five:
Wood. Lots of wood.
Sunny's POV
I dragged a decent looking non-rotted freshly-fallen tree, with help from many others, to the cave as the morning sun turned the remaining water in the ground into fog.
Oh. My. God. This is so heavy. I breathed hard as I wrapped my arms around the rough brown bark once more, and continued to drag it.
This used to be a huge ass tree. Like, HUGE. I'm surprised we can even drag it, even with the large amount of people.
Let's be honest, the only reason we are managing is the fact Skull decided to help while teaching Cloud how to pick it up properly.
"Put your back into it, son!" He prodded. "But lift with your legs, not your back. You want back issues, boy?" He teased.
Cloud scoffed sarcastically. "Of course I do." He grinned as Pebble elbowed him.
"We should make the prisoners do this..." Thunder sneered. Snow shook her head, disappointed. "No, Thunder, if almost all of us can hardly even drag this thing, I doubt three can."
Thunder rolled his eyes, and scoffed at the fact that she is right.
"Yeah, roll your eyes," she teased, "very mature."
"Ah! Shit!" Cloud gasped.
"No, son, that way will break your damn back!" Skull exclaimed.
I laugh slightly, along with a few others.
"Ah, no Bird, I'm fine!" He rasped. (Dunno why I only now decide to make her this) Bird is a healer. She's in training, not professional, because shes still like 16, but training as a doctor nonetheless. She's almost finished, too.

Once we finally got the fallen tree back to the cave, about noon, we all set out to find another tree the storm knocked down.
Or Storm told us where to find them.
By the time the day ended, we got enough to make two or three houses. What can I say, houses take a lot of wood.
The moon began to rise, stars sparkling into view. I stared at the sky. Rain has some weird pull to the stars. I have a tiny pull, but it's not even close to as strong as she describes hers is.
Oh well. I shrugged. She says it has something to do with ancestry, something mom taught us when we were like three. I honestly don't remember anything about that.
I walked into the cave, watching as the group builders turned the fallen trees to planks. Bird had left to buy a bunch of nails. Buying wood is way too expensive, though.
I looked at Rain, whose currently flustered as hell, River smirking as he talked to her. I felt a pang of loneliness as I thought about my girlfriend.
You know what. I'm gonna find her. Maybe she can live here with us. I decided. Maybe. Just maybe.
I stalked outside, and called to one of the Skymanes, Fang tottering behind me. Red showing up, and crouched down so I can hop on.
Here I come.
Anne's POV
I'm an assassin. That's.. well... Just thought I'd tell ya. I pulled two of my long, red and black swords out from their hiding place. The president ordered the others to train me.
I'm the best tracker still, though. Best, most sensitive senses. I was quickest to finnish my training. I take pride in that.
I smirked. I could've been the alpha if I stayed. I was too young to be alpha, or beta, I'm still considered a pup.
I don't consider myself a pup. I whipped my blades at a tree, hitting it hard enough to form a clean cut searing straight through the wood.
I wonder if they'll find this very tree to make into a house? I shrugged. I don't care. It may spook them that there's such a clean cut, but oh well.
I could care less. I froze as a twig snapped. I jumped up into a tree, peering down, not moving a muscle.
A small brown fluffy wolf pup came out of the bushes. I remember her. She's my best friend. I smiled as she called out my name. "Anne..?"
I jumped down, right in front of her, making her jump a mile. "Hey there, El."
"Annneeee!!" She turned human and hugged me. She's my age. I widened my eyes, dropping my blades.
"You've never hugged anyone before!" I gasped, surprised.
"Oh, shut up, Anne." She scoffed, breaking the hug. "I haven't seen you in so long! Where've you been? The others say you've probably went to live with your brother, along with Pebble."
"Well, they're not wrong-"
"Oh my god! Really?" She gaped at me.
"Yeah. You can, too, I mean- if you want- you can uh- yeah. You can live with us, I'm sure..." I looked at my feet, biting my lip.
"I'd love to!" She smiled at me.
I looked back up at her and smiled back. "Good! We're working on houses 'n stuff," I shuffled my feet awkwardly.
"Ooo, that sounds fun! Can I help? Please?" She begged.
"Yeah, I'm sure you can help bring logs 'n stuff to the cave." I shrugged.
"Yeyy!" She cheered.
She's always so happy. No matter what. She always has a smile on her face. Nothing bad about that at all.
"Pebble, Cloud, 'n Skull all know you, but the others won't. Oh, Amy, Lily, and Will are our prisoners." I grinned.
"Oh. My. God! My sis is a prisoner? But Lily's so innocent! What'd she do?" She smirked mischievously.
"Nothing, really. Just high tension." I frowned.
"Ah, I see." She grinned. "Well, are you gonna take me there?"
"Sure!" I smiled.
El's POV
I walked side by side with Anne. It's true, though. She's the only one I will hug. Only one. Never anyone else! I smile.
"So. What brings you here?" Anne asked me.
"Oh, uh..." I chuckled nervously. "They.. Called me a traitor. They.. Well, they kicked me out." Anxiety welled in my chest as I grinned worriedly.
That's not true. They're darker than I thought. They tried to murder me. They were gonna murder me. I didn't smile then. I couldn't. I wouldn't. I wanted to, but I couldn't.
Anne frowned at me, sadness showing in her eyes. Oh. She knows. She knows what they do to traitors, does she..?
"Why'd they consider you a traitor..?" She asked me. I laughed. "Well, you see, I just couldn't stop talking about someone." I nudged her. "They thought I was meeting up with you or somethin'."
She hid her face. I raise an eyebrow, curious. I smirked at her. "What's wrong?"
She let her blood-red scarf cover half her face. "Nuthin'." She said casually. "Anyway, we're here." She announced.
