Rain In The River

+~Chapter Twenty~+

The storm begins.

Sunny's POV

I stared out the cave as the rain continued to hiss down from the clouds. Muddy water pooled in the cave, still streaming in through the entrance. It's beginning to flood. I looked around to see other people wearily looking at that, too.

"What are we gonna do if it floods?" Storm asked. Ocean shook her head, looking worried. "I dunno..."

River turned toward Storm, an idea in his eyes. "Aye, Storm?" When Storm looked at him, he continued. "Try and see how long the clouds go on, and tell us when you see the end of the storm clouds."

Storms eyes lit up. "Oh yeah!" He stared at nothing, his eyes turning slightly dull. A while past, and Storm continued to search.

Oh, shit. Hopefully this isn't worldwide. A bit more time passes, and Storm blinks, his eyes darkening. Fang whined.

"Uh... Let's just say it'll be a while. But I seen Pebble trudging through the mud, looking for Anne. And then I saw Anne staring at nothing in an old abandoned city."

Wait, what? Rain frowned, and said "Storm, tell me where Pebble is."
"Oki, I'll show you." He darted out of the cave, Rain and Riv' following him.

Oh dear. I ran after them, Fang pattering behind me. After only a few seconds of being in the rain, I'm now completely soaked. "Damn it, I should've brought a coat or something."

I caught up with the others, mud staining my pants, the wind blowing harshly. After a while, we came across Pebble, who's coughing, trudging on through the muddy ground.

"Hey, Peb'!" Rain shouted after the muddy wolf. "Storm knows were Anne is!"

Pebble whipped around, panting, a confused look on her face. A light lit up in her eyes as if she just remembered Storm's power. "Well sheeittt." She sneezed.

Hope she isn't sick from being in this cold, wet storm. Storm continued to run in a direction, all of us running after him.

Amy's POV

I frowned at Will as the wind picked up.  Does he think I'm incapable? Well, I guess my leg is broken.

Will looked away. "No, I don't think you're helpless, I just don't want your leg getting worse."

"Do whatever, I guess. Let's just go." Lily mumbled. Wow, okay. I never seen her like this before...

"O-okay." I muttered. Will carefully picked me up,  and he and Lily began to search for the cave we found Cloud at.

??? POV

I flinched as I faced the President. "Sir... Alpha Amy, Beta Will, and uh.. Lily are missing."

Silence. Until "And?" His voice cold.
"That- that's it sir..." I stammered, confused.

"Then, what are you waiting for? Search for them." Though his voice was calm, it's iciness stabbed straight through me, leaving me frozen.

"What. Are. You. Waiting. For?" He repeated. "Go!"
I darted away, not looking back. Thank fuck that's over with! Now my buddies owe me fifty bucks!

I ran off into the wild territory, my pack behind me, rain hissing down on our backs, heads, pelts.

Ready or not, here I come...

Anne's POV

A tear rolled down my cheek as I stared at the building that just seems so familiar.

All the images and echoes left, leaving me silent in the gusting wind. Rain hissed down on my head and shoulders as I stared, a blank expression on my face.

"Well... That was... Nostalgic.... Well, at first." I mumbled to myself. I back away from the building, feeling anxious.

A rustling in the bushes, but I didn't hear it. Why? Well one, thunder, two, rain, three, wind.

I ignored the feeling of being watched, and walked down what used to be a road.

Something's... Running toward me? I turn around to see Fang. Oh? "H-how did you... find me..?" Clever little doggo.

Then others come from the bushes. Pebble, Rain, Riv, Sun, Storm.
"Wow... A whole party." I laughed.

"Where were you?" Pebble asked.
"I was following Skull, but his scent washed away when the storm started and I got a little lost."

"Oh- That's- Wait where did you find Skull?"
"Uuhh... At a ceremony..." I focused on Fang as I pet her wet pelt.

"I told you, you have to be 18 and up to watch the ceremony for a reason!" Peb scolded.

"Yes, yes, I know."
"We should go back to the cave..." Pebble said, hugging me.

The wind blew hard on our journey back.

Rain's POV

I stared at the large puddles in the cave,  wondering what were gonna do about that. Skull is drinking beer with his son, Cloud.

Riv' came back from where he was watching the sky, sighing. "Clouds are starting to swirl. Everyone, deeper into the cave!"

A few people looked over to the swirling clouds, weary. They nodded. "Yup. Hurricane."

Well, shit. I waited for River to come by me, then we went to a smaller cavern deeper within the cave, but not flooded yet.

I leaned against a wall, crossing my arms. "I doubt we have to crouch down like in the schools, considering the fact we're underground." I told everyone.

"Time to get drunk." Cloud announced, gulping down a bottle of alcohol.
"Nope." Pebble snatched the bottle. "Sharing is caring." She took a few sips, and gave it back to the pouting Cloud.

"What?" She asked as a few people looked at her. "What can I say, it runs in the family."

A few chuckled as a few smirked.
She shrugged. Anne looked up at Pebble. "Can I have some?"

"No. Wait 'til you're ten." Peb' answered.
I looked at the ground. When will this storm be over...? I sighed.

I sat down next to River, who's also sitting. "Whatcha thinkin' 'bout?" I asked him.

He shrugged. "That I can't wait 'til this storm ends, I guess. It sucks, it really does."

"Yeah.. I was thinking the same same thing..." I'm exhausted... I thought as my eyes became heavy. "I'm gonna try and pass time.." I yawned, closing my eyes, resting my head on my knees.
