STUPID MISTAKE 4:
ACCIDENTALLY TOLD MY BEST FRIEND (THE BLUBBER MOUTH)

I was panicking, doing the whole back and forth walk as I stared at my phone. Oh God, what had I done? I was never drinking again.

"Calm down and tell me what's wrong." Angie groaned from her bed, eye closed as she nursed her hangover. Not like I didn't have one but when you receive a text from your crush early in the morning, it tends to cure all hangovers and leave you with a panic attack.

"I-I can't." I choked. "I'm so stupid." I mumbled the last part to myself as I stared at the message.

9:30 am
From: Marcus H.

Who's this?

I know, they were two simple words. Words that I would have ignored but this was Marcus Hamilton we were talking about. My crush who had replied my drunk-emotion filled text message. What if he knew it was me and embarrassed me in front of the whole school?

I stopped pacing, my eyes widening at the thought and the never ending teasing from my peers. "Hey Angie. Have you ever given my number to anyone?" I suddenly asked her, my mind going on an overdrive. If only Angie had my number then there would be no way Marcus would know I sent him the message.

"Um- No one. Why?" She groaned opening one eye to peek at me.

"Nothing." I quickly shook my head. "Just wondering."

I tried playing everything off later when Angie dropped me off from her house where I'd spend the night. Trying to pretend that I was the least bit concerned about the message until later in the night when my screen lit up. I looked back at the number, my mind going blank at the unidentified number.

I frowned, cautiously taking my phone as I wondered whether it was Marcus texting me with another number.

10:56 pm

From : Unknown

You didn't come 2 2nite's party. Can't blame you though doll, u were pretty drunk last night and had to pull you away from that dare to kiss that weed dealer I told you about but now I wish I didn't coz it would have been pretty funny.

Nite Bree. U probably already dreaming about unicorns and all that crap.

I stared at the message trying to jog last nights memory but I came up blank. Last thing I remembered was being in the kitchen with Angie and Shawn. Plus who was this texting me? Only person that told me about the weed dealer was Alex and I couldn't recall giving him my number.

Oh no! What if I did? What if I did more stupid things than sending Marcus that drunk text?

I shot up from my bed in panic. I had to talk to Angie.

"It's freaking half past eleven. You better have won the lottery to call me." Angie's sleepy voice came from the other end of my phone.

"Sorry but I have a quick question." I apologetically replied making Angie groan once again.

"You called to ask a question? Must be important."

"Yes. Just a quick one. Did I do something stupid last night?" I carefully asked.

"How the hell should I know? I don't even remember getting home or jumping into Alex's pool. My hair is still fuzzy and I stink of chlorine."

I sighed. Of course Angie wouldn't recall a thing but I was desperate. "I think I might have given Alex my number because he just texted me."

"Alex who? Alexander Broudy?" My friend screeched making me pull the phone away from my poor ears.

"Er - yes."

"Oh em gee. What did he say? Tell me! Don't you dare hold back anything!" It was obvious my friend was fully awake by now, her voice going a notch higher and I was sure the whole neighbourhood was aware she was awake.

"He just asked why I wasn't at tonight's party. I didn't even know there was a one." I explained to my squealing friend.

"Oh girl. Alex is so dreamy in a bad boy way and those tats are to die for. Rosa was holding a party tonight and you know how much I hate her." I could already imagine my friend rolling her eyes. "Now back to Mr. Hottie. I bet he likes you."

Oh no! "It was just a message Angie. He is probably drunk and decided to randomly text me." Not like I wasn't in the same position less than twenty-four ago.

"Girl, no one drunk texts anyone unless they are thinking about them." Angie excitedly replied. "You should text him back asap."

"What? No way." I gasped in horror. "Like what would I say?"

"How should I know? Wait a minute, let me call Shawn and ask him if anything happened between you and Alex last night. Maybe that will give us a clue on whether that was a flirty text."

"No. Don't call Shawn. It's -" The line went dead, an indication that my best friend had just hang up on me and was already calling her boyfriend and probably a couple of more people from the party to inquire about my new situation.

I took a deep breath, realising I had just made my fourth mistake. By Monday morning the whole school would have known about Alexander texting me.

Ugh! This was such a disaster.
