On the side of a deserted road, a destroyed prison van laid on it's side, with the bodies of prisoners and correctional officers scattered around. After five years in the dream world Freya created for them, the three Originals were hungry, and were making the most of their first meal in so long. Elijah sat on the ground, with the body of corrections officer in his lap, as Rebekah dropped the body of prisoner to the ground.
"Good lord, that one has lungs on him." Rebekah noted, as they all heard the terrified screams of Kol's victim echoing throughout the woods. "He should've been an opera singer. Might've ended better for him, actually."
Freya looked at her brother and sister in annoyance. "Is this absolutely necessary?"
"That depends." Rebekah gave her a look, as she crossed her arms over her chest. "Do you want us at our full strength, or do you plan on rescuing Nik on your own?"
"Well, death rattles are distracting, and I'm trying to break a cloaking spell." Freya shot back in defense.
"Kol, would you please?!" Elijah yelled out, and the screams suddenly cut off with a loud crunch. "Thank you." He added, taking his handkerchief from his pocket and wiping the blood from his lip, as he raised a brow at the oldest sister. "You were saying?"
"I can sense Klaus is still in New Orleans. Most likely somewhere underground." She informed them, as Kol rejoined them, blood smeared around his mouth and all over his shirt. "I can't get a read on exactly where, unless I'm in the city itself."
"Yeah, that's gonna be a problem." Hayley rejoined them, slipping her phone into her back pocket. "Audrey and I have contacts in New Orleans. As you can imagine, the place is crawling with vampires, all of whom hate all of us."
"Yeah, whatever we do, we need to do it fast." Audrey nodded in agreement.
"Well, I wasn't planning on a pub crawl. I don't want to stay any longer than we have to." Freya shook her head. "But we need to go."
"Whoa, wait." Kol's eyes widened in disbelief. "We're not doing this today?"
Rebekah gave him an unimpressed look. "Hasn't Nik suffered enough?"
"Yes. And I've died twice." He snapped back in reminder. "I'm not about to give Marcel a shot at a third. Now, I say, we draw that muppet out of town and when he's gone--"
"We have been away from our daughters long enough." Hayley pointed between herself and Audrey. "If you're afraid..."
"It's called be sensible." He gave her an obvious look. "Until Freya can make enough cure with her werewolf hostage, Marcel can basically chew through our bloody throats."
"Kol, for all we know he has all the vampires in the city carrying his venom." Audrey pointed out. "There's risk no matter how we do this. It doesn't change the fact Klaus deserves to be free."
