Lucky you pack light, otherwise the trek up the mountain to the town of Winterhold would've been a lengthy one, stopping every few minutes to catch your breath and all that

You took in the scenery around you, it was breathtaking...The way the sun made the snow shine and sparkle.

You got lucky, today was one of the few days the sun was actually out. You thanked the Aedra, and the Daedra that you weren't stuck in a snowstorm

Just a few steps more and you were at the edge of town...At first you thought you had gone to the wrong place, but that was before you saw the college

You sighed...You had the right place, but...what happened to the town? It was all broken down

Walking to the inn, you only saw one person, but they ignored you when you tried to speak with them, 'rude' you thought, continuing to the inn, hopefully there would be nicer people there

Your steps pounded as you walked up the steps leading to the inn door, for some reason you hesitated, what if-...you didn't let yourself continue your thought. You were just there to restock your food stores, and warm up a bit.

Warm air rushed past you as you opened the door, there was almost no one in there either

"Come in or get out. You're letting the cold in'' A voice called from further inside the building

You stepped inside and shut the door, looking around you and how empty it was, you walked up to to the wooden counter

"Why is it so empty here?" You asked, while fishing out some gold to pay for food

"It's because of those damn wizards." He spoke with so much disdain...

Snapping your head up to look at him, you stared, "How is it the mages fault?"

"Winterhold used to be bustling with people, my inn, packed with travelers. But the wizards did something up in their gods forsaken college; Caused most of Winterhold to collapse into the sea."

"How do you know the mages caused it?" You questioned, placing a small pouch of gold on the counter

He grabbed it and started counting, "The college was left unharmed in the great collapse, who else could it have been?"

"Maybe there was an shift in the ground, caused the ground to become unstable and eventually collapse" You reasoned

"You a college sympathizer, elf?" He asked, pocketing the gold and reaching under the counter top

"Nord." You stated with steel in your voice

"Hmm?"

"I'm a nord." You said again

He laughed and pointed at your ears and eyes, "You can't lie to me, those ears and eyes give you away"

"My father was an elf, my mother was a nord. I take after my mother." You glared at him, holding a hand out for the supplies you paid for

"Well, 'Nord', You best get out of here, we don't take kindly to college sympathizers" He said, placing a bag of supplies on the counter

"I'm not a college sympathizer, but I did come here to learn more about restoration. The war needs more healers" You stated and turned to leave, grabbing the bag

"Which side are you on?" He asked, stopping you mid-step

"The legion executed my family for being in the wrong place at the wrong time, and almost did the same to me. So, what do you think?" You said before walking out the door into the freezing cold, once more

It had started to snow while you were in there...You could always count on the northern areas to have unpredictable weather

Clutching your cloak closer around your shoulders, you set off walking to the college, on the other side of town
