"By Arkay!" You yelped, almost slipping on the slanted walkway, if people didn't see you, they definitely heard you
"You. What are you doing here?" A female sounding voice asked, making you jump, and this time, you actually slipped
As you were about to come tumbling down the icy walkway, a hand grabbed you and helped you up
"Sorry for startling you." A woman said
"It's fine, I'm just glad you helped me before I fell" You chuckled
She smirked in amusement before quickly frowning again, "What brings you to the college?" She asked
"I wanted to learn more about restoration, and hopefully practice some of the other schools" You answered
"Well, you'll certainly find what you seek at the college, but new students must must prove they have something they can offer to the college if they want in"
"What would you have me do?" You asked, hopeful that whatever she asked you to do was in your capabilities
"Go ahead and cast a heal other spell at the symbol on the ground. If you know it, that is"
"Alright, easy enough" You said, readying your spell and letting it loose at the symbol
It glowed a pale blue light and the woman nodded, "Welcome to the College of Winterhold, apprentice" She spoke, "Follow me"
You nodded and followed her
"Once you get in, you'll want to speak with Mirabelle, she'll give you a tour of the college grounds"
"Right...Um...Miss?"
"Call me Faralda, what do you need?"
"Is it true that the mages cause most of Winterhold to fall into the sea?" You asked
"No. The nords always seem to find a way blame us even for things we didn't play a part in" Faralda answered
"Oh, I thought maybe it could've been a shift in the land that caused it"
"That is very possible. Now, go on and see Mirabelle" Faralda said, pointing through the big golden gate
It was adorned with the same symbol as before, the one you shot with a healing spell
Walking closer, it opened on its own, seemingly welcoming you
You walked through the gate and before you was a statue with what seemed to be another well of magic energy, a larger version of what was on the bridge
The ground around you was pretty plain, the snow covered the ground and the gray college just made the area seem gloomy and, well, gray
As you walked around the statue, you heard, and saw, a man and a woman arguing about something, you caught the gist of it, but you were mainly just studying the man.
He was an elf, a High elf. He was clothed in green and gold robes, quite lovely, if you liked that kind of stuff. He held himself in a dignified manner, though, you could tell he was quite annoyed with having to answer to a inferior race
The argument ended and you snapped out of your staring state. You watched the Altmer, High elf, walk into the main building
Turning to the woman, you opened your mouth to speak, but she started speaking before you could say anything
"You must be another new student, a surprising amount of you these days, anyway, my name is Mirabelle, pleased to meet you. I'll give you a tour, are you ready?"
You nodded
