Take me away to a realm of fancy-
To a place built of bliss, words flowing
In pure harmony.
Take me away to a place of serenity-
A locale emanating union, eliminating
Confusion, boasting clarity.
Take me away to a lively night-
A time brimming with connectivity
Wide awake, eyes alight.
Take me away to what we were-
A pair of souls bonded over interest
And words.
Take me away to what we shared-
Feelings of elation, dejection,
Acceptance-we cared.
Take me away.
Take me back.
Take it all back.
Just take me away, if only
For a spell-
I just need to know you are safe, happy, and well.
Take me back, if only
For a minute-
I just need to feel the safety of your embrace when I'm in it.
Take it all back, if only
For a day-
And maybe then it would soothe the pain.
