It's already the middle of March, everything went perfectly fine except for when I went to meet Gulf's family, we stayed there for four days, I was so stiff like a wooden board when I first got to his small house yet I slowly started feeling relaxed, they are a very kind and funny family, they were joking and laughing around while we sat eating, they even treated like I'm really a part of the family and talked about anything in front of me which surprised me a little.

I got more relaxed when I was sleeping alone with Gulf in his small bedroom, more like almost cuddling on his one person bed, his room had nothing but the bed and a small closet and a circular low table between them, there is also some posters and mini window by the head of the bed. My fake lover also took me around showing famous places there and where he studied and even introduced to some of his friends we met there. All in all I liked my stay there.

My friend Boat who was supposed to come visit during Christmas had to cancel his trip because of some work issues but he already arranged to come at the beginning of next month and will stay for two weeks, he decided to spend a couple of days with me and the rest with his family, I just hope he will get along well with Gulf.

Everything was going smoothly, I enjoyed my paradise a lot more than before, Gulf doesn't disturb me during the day and spend the rest of it at work, Boat stopped sending job offers that flooded my email box, Kiet kept his promise and told no one about us but we also got along, they moved to a house a few blocks away from us and they even left Mali with us on Saturdays a few times so they could go on a lovers date.

My life is peaceful, warm and happy, I'm enjoying myself a lot and having fun, even Gulf's presence became part of my life and I don't mind it at all, HOWEVER! My beloved parents never fail to surprise me, no, TO SHOCK ME!!!

"mom... what did you just say?" I asked not trying to assure myself that I heard her wrong, yet with a wide smile and shiny eyes she repeated

"let's hold an engagement party" my eyes stared at her wide open, my lips got glued and my mind went blank, I literally couldn't find any words to say at that moment

"you've been together for over 8 months now and we saw that you are absolutely meant for each other so we want you to became an official couple and our families become one so we will hold a small engagement party, just families and close friends and when Gulf graduate you can should get married" she explained looking excited like a kid get a bucket of candy

"mo-mother" Gulf talked making me look at him, he is very smart and knows how to bluff during those times

"I think... it's still early for us to get engaged, usually couples with do it only after a year or two, like you said we've been in relationship for just 8 months" he tried to reason with her

"yes, he's right mom, I know you're eager to see me getting officially engaged and all but this is a very important matter, we should take it slowly and talk about it first" I agreed immediately, I knew he can manage find an excuse, refusing may rise some suspicion made this is more believable

"we know, but we also see that are really fated lovers, you complete each other, you understand each other and most of all seeing how natural you behave around each other like you've being together since long time ago is what convinced us to arrange this engagement" father explained

"we want you both to become real family" I leaned back not finding any argument to fight back, I never expected my parents to do smth like this, I thought they will leave me alone after getting a lover but not this, how am I supposed to get out of this trouble
