The lack of Malaysian restaurants abroad astounds us.
We've fallen in love.
Savoury scents of Indian curries
Wafting from lunch buffets
Cease our exploring
To queue to fill a plate
Tempeh, lentil curries and veggies
Pay by portion-size
Our stomachs deeply satisfied
Even foreign-started, locally successful
Kickapoo joy juice.
Entertains Ethan with its retro label
Mee goreng, char kuey teow, and Hokkein mee
Bring noodles to life.
Nasi lemak, laksa soup, and rendang
Which dish to choose?
Vegetarian options and adaptations galore
Kuala Lumpur is our food city.
Flavours and variety rarely disappoint
Except in the case of durian cake

Whenever Ethan and I discuss places we'd return to in a heatbeat, Malaysia always comes up and the food is a big reason. Sadly, I didn't take enough food photos on this trip, both shots of the meals are from Penang, Malaysia on my first trip there in 2012. The first I believe is char kuey teow and the second is a Penang Hokkein Mee with prawn.
