Life was never fair to me

Life was never fair to me. I always received pain for my good deeds. I wonder, what crime I have committed?

But then a realisation dawns upon me that God is testing me.

My whole childhood passed in suffering. I received hatred, taunts, curses and punishments. I received all pain but never received love. And I have no hope for love anymore. I only want a peaceful life away from the negative people spoiling my life.

Taking a step forward towards a bright future, I applied for a job at Kaiser Group. It's a leading arms and ammunition manufacturing company in the whole country. And I am applying for the job of CEO's Secretary.

I reached the office of Kaiser Group at sharp nine. I could see other girls of my age sitting in the corridor. Few of them were trying to look seductive. Either because the CEO is rumoured to be a playboy or those few girls are more confident in their seduction rather than their qualification.

Well, I don't need to trick people into being seductive. If I deserve this job, surely I will get it. Most of the girls were wearing shirts and trousers, some wearing Kurti and few wearing short dresses which were way too short. But most of them had done heavy makeup, I wonder how they handle that irritating stuff. I was wearing a plain white Kurta with a white Pant Palazzo and a white Dupatta. I didn't bother to do makeup, just applied a little bit of Kohl. My hair was covered with a white hijab and white sandals at my feet. All in all, I was all white.

I sat on a couch, holding my resume in my hands and continuously tapping my feet on the floor. Girls were entering CEO's office and coming out with a defeated expressions on their faces. Which meant, the CEO was a tough guy and surely he was not a playboy.

Finally, after waiting for whole two hours, it was my turn. I entered the cabin.

The cabin was majestic yet simple. The man sitting in front of me was in his late twenties. He was handsome. No, handsome would be an understatement for him. His looks were unique. Dark brown hairs, hazel green eyes, rosy lips, olive skin tone and a hint of innocence in his expression. Oh, I am getting envious of his gorgeous looks.

He was busy typing over his laptop. He felt my presence in the room and looked forward in my direction. For a second, our eyes met. The way he looked at me, was strange. I could see mixed emotions in his eyes.

Then I realised I haven't knocked yet. Maybe it annoyed him. I quickly knocked at the door, despite that he already acknowledged my presence.

"May I come in, sir?" I asked politely.

"You are already in." He said in a neutral tone.

I downcast my gaze.

"Have a seat, Miss..."

"Aqsa... Aqsa Nawaz." I completed his sentence while walking to his table.

I sat on one of the two chairs placed opposite his chair, while a big office table made up of glass was placed in between.
