Ok, but does this mean that it will make it into GoTs territory? Actually, it does. Turns out that back in 2017 Jeff Bezos mandated to "Bring me Game of Thrones."
And they're actively searching for actors as background extras who are comfortable with nudity. Background. Admittedly we know little, so perhaps it's just when Numenor is destroyed, and some peoples clothes get ripped off by force of the ocean. But that seems like to little a project to pull in Intimacy Coordinator Jennifer Ward-Lealand, who's been confirmed to be planning to work on the LOTR series.
They've also hired multiple writers from GoTs, and have hired Bryan Cogman as consulting director, and is listed in IMDB as a writer for the LOTR series.

There is so much room for the gritty, dark stuff. Especially at the end of Numenor. But Amazon, please don't put sexualized characters into the story! It's lacking for a reason, and there's enough of that everywhere else!
I would also like to point out that Tolkien scholar Tom Shippey, is not working on this project any more. It seems like he only worked on the map then was no longer needed.
But what can we do? How do WE stop this from becoming an R-rated series? How do we, the fans of Tolkien, keep Amazon true?

The hashtag was started for exactly this purpose; to let Amazon know that we will not stand for this.
The petition works the same way, they are wanting 2,500 signatures. To me, that seems like a small number that won't be enough. But it's a good start!
If we band together and scream loud enough Amazon will hear us!
