It has been four hours since Colby has left to go exploring with Sam and I couldn't help but feel a small amount of worry build up inside of me. I know that four hours was the average time for them but I couldn't help but overthink the small situation. Colby has been on long missions before but this didn't sit right with me.

I nervously tapped my fingernails on the lounge room's couch but the weight of Brennen's head on my lap stopped my leg from bouncing.

Brennen's soft brown curls spread across my lap as he laid facing the roof. Over the past thirty minutes, he has been trying to through popcorn into his mouth in an attempt to catch it but to his luck, he has only caught six in his mouth and the other hundred was spread across the room.

I think By now the whole floor was covered in popcorn.

"Ava watch, this is the one," he says rocking a hand full of popcorn back in forth above him. He squints his eyes studying both the air and his hand before throwing them all into the air.

I watch as all of the popcorn fly across the room; not one landing in his mouth. He huffs in disappointment rolling onto his side and crossing his arms over his chest like a little child.

"That was definitely something," I say slowly nodding my head in amusement. "Shut up" he mumbles softly shaking his head. I watch as all of his fluffy curls softly fall back onto his forehead, almost covering his face.

Gosh, this man has such beautiful hair.

"Stop tapping your nails you're giving me a headache" he wines tightly closing his eyes. "Sorry" I mumble placing my hand flat on the couch.

''You know what you can do instead of tapping'' he says and I sat prepared for whatever dirty thing this man was going to say. ''what could I do instead Brennen?'' I question him.

''You could play with my hair like you use to'' he says opening his eyes and tilting his so he could see me. I roll my eyes, softly chuckling to myself which caused a small smile to appear on his face. His golden green eyes shined bright against the sun; surprisingly similar to Leonardo's eyes.

"I'm back" I hear a dull familiar voice echo throughout the house. Hearing his voice sent a wave of excitement down my body. Never in my life did I ever want to hear someone's voice more in my life than before.

I hear Brennen huff in defeat before feeling him place his head back down on my lap as he noticed that my attention was drawn to something else. Brennen was always like that, he always gave up way too easily.

Colby walks into the loungeroom and instantly his eyes meet mine. I watch as a small smile grew across his plump lips but dropped as soon as he saw Brennen laying down on my lap.

"You are back already, shouldn't you be editing the video?" Andrea questions him walking into the room. "It's sams turn this week" he replies, his voice in his normal dull tone.

"That's good, finally a day with everyone home," Jeff says walking into the room and standing beside Andrea.

"What if we do something?" I hear Brennen say, his voice muffled as his head was pressed against my leg. Colby looks at him, sending him an annoyed glare before looking back up at me.

"I think that's an amazing idea actually" Andrea chirps crossing her arms over her chest. "Where do you guys want to go?" She asks everyone sitting down on a single chair in the corner.

"Clubbing?" Jeff says looking between everyone in the room. "yeah, I think that's a great idea" I reply softly smiling at him.

"Excellent" Colby quickly says clapping his hands together. ''I guess we are going clubbing tonight'' he says his words coming out slightly sarcastic but it could also be from the pissed off mood he was in.

"Let's just hope we don't run into any trouble tonight," Andrea says squinting her eyes at Colby. ''Like last time'' she mumbles under her breath giving Colby that scary mum look. My eyebrows pulled together as I looked between Colby and Andrea, confused as to what they were talking about but neither of them opened this mouth to explain.

''Why did everything get so quiet?'' Brennen asks not moving a muscle. ''I have no clue'' I reply placing my hand on his shoulder. As I looked over at Andrea I tried to focus on her facial expressions but for the first time, her facial expressions were also unreadable.

Crash

I jump to the loud sound of glass being shattered from behind me. I quickly turn my head to face where the noise came from, only to be faced with Colby standing behind a broken vase. ''Whoops, accident'' he says shrugging his shoulders.

''Damn I think I shit myself, I thought we were getting attacked'' Brennen says, slowly rolling onto his back. I knew for a fact that Colby did that on purpose. Well, how else could a heavy vase move across the table and fall onto the floor?

But why was the real question here?

''Gravity man, it's crazy'' Colby says shaking his head. I squint my eyes at him watching as he sarcastically gave me a smile as a response. I rolled my eyes before turning back around to face Andrea again. As I turned around I couldn't help but smile to myself.

"Well I guess on that note everyone, get up and get ready," Jeff says clapping his hands together. Andrea huffs to herself before pushing herself off from her chair and walking towards the exit of the room before stopping herself just before the door.

''Ava, get your butt here I'm dressing you up tonight'' She says and I could contain myself from smiling. Ever since a child, I've always loved people dressing me up to go somewhere; it was always a sense of comfort to me.

''Ok let me get this thing off of me first'' I joke softly pushing Brennen. Brennen gasps instantly sitting up and staring at me, his face covered in annoyance.

Andrea laughs rolling her eyes before walking herself out of the room and towards her own.
