YOU HAD YOUR "CHANCE",
THEY TOLD ME THEY REJECTED YOU
I TRUSTED YOU
AND I TOLD YOU
HOW I FELT ABOUT THEM
YOU FAKED THE SUPPORT
I REALIZED IT WAS FAKE BEFORE YOU DID
I WOULD LEAVE A ROOM
AND YOU'D TAKE MY PLACE
RIGHT NEXT TO THEM.
I WOULD WALK AWAY
AND YOU WOULD APPEAR
I WOULD HAVE THEM OVER
AND YOU WOULD SHOW UP
UNINVITED
I TOLD YOU THE GOOD
BUT YOU TOLD ME THE BAD
I NEVER SHOULD'VE TRUSTED YOU
BECAUSE YOU CAN'T KEEP YOUR HANDS TO YOURSELF
OR YOUR MOUTH SHUT
YOU SPILL THEIR SECRETS
AND I KEEP THEIR REAL ONES BOTTLED UP
MAYBE THAT'S WHY THEY LIKE ME MORE
BECAUSE THEY CAN TRUST ME
AND I MAKE THEM FEEL SAFE
IT'S ALWAYS A COMPETITION WITH YOU
BUT THE BEST PART IS...IM WINNING.
YOU ARE READING
AS if i would write about you
Poetrywould you read it? A collection of poems about (mainly) one person making me feel heartache, growth, love, confusion, jealousy, toxicity, and vulnerability. I made the story gender-neutral, in hopes to broaden the horizon and to spread inclusivity...
