"Echo..." I called him in a whisper.
"Long time no see, Attorney. How are you?" He asked while looking right into my eyes.
"I...I'm okay," I answered at napaiwas ako ng tingin. "A-about this, labhan ko nalang," I said as I pointer at his suit.
"No, it's okay."
"No. Bigay mo nalang sa'kin mamaya," I insisted at bumalik na sa lamesa namin nila Fallon. I whistled para matanggal ang nararamdaman kong awkwardness pero hindi tumalab. That was so embarassing! We just made a scene!
"Para-paraan ka do'n, ah? Para makapagkita kayo," Veronica teased and drank her wine.
I felt my cheeks burned dahil sa sinabi ni Veronica. That wasn't my intention! Well, half of it but I'm just trying to be nice!
"You did it on purpose, don't you?" Fallon asked and gave me a suspicious looked.
"No! Hindi ko sinasadya 'yon. I didn't even know that he was here," I defended myself. Hindi ko naman napansin na nasa likod ko na pala siya kaya natapunan ko siya. That's the only reason! Wala nang iba. That was an accident.
"Tutal, kaibigan ka namin. Maniniwala nalang kami sayo," Veronica said and laughed with Fallon.
The guest were cheering as we watched Lara and Valentino played the garter toss. Lara was holding her cheek because of embarassment. The guest cheered louder when Valentino got the garter and throws it at nasalo ni Echo.
Lara stood up and reached the mic, "Deborah at Echo try niyo! Since kayo ang nakakasalo, bakit hindi pa kayo sumunod sa'min?"
Napatingin ang mga guest sa'min at hinatak ako papunta sa gitna ni Lara. My friend were cheering as they waited for Echo come. Pumunta naman si Lara sa pwesto ni Echo at hinatak din papunta sa'kin.
"Upo ka d'yan," Lara pointed at the chair. Aangal pa sana ako nang inupo niya ako.
"Ganto gagawin, kukunin mo lang 'tong garter under her dress." Turo niya sa amin at inilagay ni Lara ang garter sa thigh ko sa pinakadulo.
Lara winked at me before leaving. The crowd cheered us to start. I looked at Echo who was kneeling in front of me. Nagkatitigan lang kami ni Echo ng ilang segundo na parang hinihintay ang isa't isa na magsalita.
