I get out of my car and put my sunglasses on while winking at random girls I don't even know their names after years

I walk into homeroom with Bryce and only see a couple of people
But not my ellie
God I feel like shit after what happened yesterday
I just hope she forgives me this weekend
I don't even want to go but our moms are forcing us to go for the weekend to our old cabin
"happy Friday class" mr cranes smiles while getting out the attendance sheet
While he starts taking attendance I pull out my phone and then hear the door open
Not a lot of people notice cause there all talking or texting but then I see her
She looks like a great big beautiful mess
Once she see's the only open seat is next to me she rolls her eyes and takes it
She folds her arms on the table then puts her head down and closes her eyes
Is she okay? She might not have gotten a lot of sleep last night
The bell rings and I'm about to get up but I notice Ella fell asleep
I lean down to her ear "wake up beautiful"
She jumps up then makes eye contact with me and swats my arm
"don't do that, oh my-" she starts, and I just laugh
"but seriously this rooms bout to be mobbed with annoying freshman and your over here sleeping" I chuckle
"ugh I hate you so much" she rolls her eyes
"aw I love you more honey" I wink
"don't say that" she turns to me I swear if I were her I would have gotten whiplash
"say what?" I ask as we walk out of the classroom
"the word you said" she tells me
"what love?"
"exactly"
"why not?" I smirk
"you're not capable of love" she says as she walks into her math class
What's that supposed to mean of course I'm capable of love, I've been in love with this girl before I even knew what love was.

When lunch rolls around I walk into the cafeteria and see Bryce, maya and Ella sitting down together
I'm not messing up again, so I walk over to them
"oo chase you made it!" Bryce laughs as I sit next to Ella
I see her tense up from the side but I just smirk
Bryce and maya just carry on their conversation while I lean into ellie
"so what time are you leaving later?" I ask
"what?" she asks
"what time are you leaving to go to the cabin?" I ask
"what do you mean go to the cabin?"
Her mom hasn't told her
"you mom didn't tell you?" I ask and she shakes her head
"oh, our moms are forcing us to go up to the cabin with them since we don't hang out anymore"
Her eyes widen and her head leans back as if she remembers something
"what?" I ask
"my mom was trying to tell me something earlier, but I was too late, so I left" she tells me
"oh"
"yeah" she states
"so... the cabin.... We haven't been there in a while" she says locking into my eyes
God don't do that ellie
"yep, last time I was there I was like what...seven" I lie
"I remember that, you are your pocketknives" she laughs
She remembers that?
Her face turns a light red as she says "wait I meant.. I meant u-" I silence her with my finger as I dig into my pocket pulling out the same pocketknife.
I'm not creepy or anything I'm just to lazy to buy another. Plus, I kind of like this one

"you still- you still have it?" she asks taking it out of my hand and examining it
"sure do, I kind of like it" I smirk
She looks up at me and smiles while I return it.
