Forgiving, or Not?

Start from the beginning

Lena lowered her voice and started to speak, "And I'll be right here next to you. Every step of the way, Kara, I'll be here. I'll be here for you. Just like you have been here for me, without failure. It's my turn to give back to you, love,"

Her hushed words were enough for my eyes to water. I saw Alex in the corner of my eye, her hand clasped over her mouth, and I noticed my sister was crying. Director Danvers, a softie. That would be great news for the agents of the DEO.

"And I'll be here. Right next to you. Always. Forever. And even though this is turning all mushy and cliche, it's true. If anything comes our way... we'll be sure to get past it, Lena. I'm sure of it," I was about to say it. It, being three words that always meant so much.

The TV blared on, and we all turned to face the technology. The news program was playing, and it was Superman. He was in National City, just waiting for me, floating atop the Supergirl statue Lena had constructed before I had outed myself to her as Supergirl.

"Go get 'em, Supergirl," Lena laughed and let go of my hand. I nodded, pressing a sweet kiss to her lips before turning to Alex, who smiled at me. I quickly changed into my super suit, shooting out of the window, not only after giving Lena one last glance.

I flew to the statue, which was set in the middle of National City. His eyes met mine, and I smiled. I flew closer to him, wrapping my arms around my big cousin. Well... I'm older than him. Well... am I? Yes? No? Rao, I don't know!

"So, I'm guessing this means you forgive me?" he asked, a boyish grin taking form over his lips. I nodded, my smile not faultering once. I pulled away from the hug, playfully punching my cousin's shoulder.

"Well... I mean, we should change your name from 'Supergirl' to 'Superbi'" Kal doubled over in laughter at his pun, but I couldn't help but snort at that.

"Well then we can change Lena's middle name from 'Kieran' to 'Lesbian'. Lena 'Lesbian' Luthor. Yeah, I like that," I laughed. I heard Alex laugh through the coms, and a scolding Lena in my ear.

"No wonder you like NYSNC. Bi bi bi," Alex said through fits of laughter, and I started to laugh again. I clutched my abdomen, and even if it could be possible, my stomach was starting to hurt from laughing so much at these jokes.

"And please, please tell me you havn't seen those articles," I fake gagged, and Kal squeezed his eyes shut, grimacing. He nodded, and we slowly lowered down to the ground. There were lots of reporters. When I mean lots, I mean lots. Thousands of my fellow reporters.

"Supergirl! Superman! Please, if I could have one moment of your time?" a man with a cap and camera called out to us. I turned to him, a smiling taking form over my lips. I nodded for him to continue.

"We wanted to know if you, Lena Luthor, and Superman could do an interview with us?" he asked me, and I looked at Kal for an answer. He nodded at me.

"I'll have to ask Lena. Just one second," I told him before turning on my comms, directing it to Lena.

"Lena, hey! So... we're being asked to do an interview with Kal, you, and myself. That sound alright?" I asked her.

"That's alright with me, love. Tell me the details tonight at game night," she answered me, and I nodded turning off my coms.

"She said yes. When and where?" I asked him, setting my hands on my hips in my stoic superhero pose. I saw Kal, who was flexing his biceps. I rolled my eyes at my cousin's dumb, boyish antics.

"Tomorrow at 5, at the building that you'll see has a camera logo. It's not hard to miss, and we have a balcony," I nodded, shaking his hand. Kal did the same before we shot up in the sky, heading for my apartment.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A few hours later, we found ourselves in my apartment's living room, pizza and potstickers on the coffee table. Everyone knew I was going to eat all the potstickers, so we ordered quite a lot. Kal was seated with Lois, Alex with Maggie, Winn joking with James, and Lena seated in my lap. Everyone rolled their eyes at us showing so much affection.
From across the room, Alex was blabbing about science-y things to Lena. Lena's eyes lit up at the mere mention of science, and I rolled my eyes at that. But I couldn't help but adore the light in Lena's eyes as she spoke about something she was so passionate about.
I played with Lena's hair gently as she spoke, a grin forming on her lips mid-sentence. She turned to face me, pressing a kiss to my cheek. My face grew red at that, and Kal teased me a bit. Of couse Kal would do that. He's just like an older brother to me, forget cousin.
Maggie was groaning as she made an attempt to sit on Alex's lap, forgetting about the many, many weapons my sister possessed 24/7. I snorted as Maggie got up, rubbing her back from the discomfortable seat she had called my sister.
Alex and Lena were talking science all night, meanwhile Kal and I were making puns about our arch nemisis's. Well, for him, it wasn't Lex anymore. We didn't think it was in our best interest to speak about Lex with Lena in the room.
James, Winn, and Lois were all speaking about companies, superheroes (including myself and my cousin), and most of all, reporting.
It was amazing. Everything was perfect. I had the girl I dreamt so many nights about, I had my sister happily with a woman that was perfect for her, my cousin and I weren't fighting anymore, and I had the Superfriends. It was perfect.
