Chapter 20: The 'Firsts' Insecurity

Start from the beginning

He tucked a few strands of hair from my face behind my ear taking his time to run contours with his fingers after which he got to work and left small butterfly kisses from my jaw towards my neck while his hands roamed freely above my waist. I sucked in a breath and the smell of his deodorant hit my nostrils. Once he was done with one side, he got to the other. I let my other arm enter into his t-shirt feel his smooth back. My hand traced the tattoos on his back and I caressed the scar on his lower spine. He jolted for a second before resuming to sketch the area around collarbone with his nose. This was turning me on so much, a soft moan escaped from my lips. He responded by sucking a piece of my neck into his mouth and applying some pressure with his teeth.

"sssssss!", I groaned.

Adrian let go of my flesh and descended on the bed beside me.

"I am sorry, did I hurt you?", He asked a little embarrassed.

"No, I was just not expecting it."

"I am sorry if I did something I shouldn't have."

"It's okay Adrian. Chill." We both got up and sat on the bed facing each other.

It was getting a little awkward. I pulled my top down and adjusted it. Adrian couldn't muster to look my way so he settled for checking out my tiles. I didn't know what to say to cut the tension.

"I am sorry Ginna, I got a little carried away." He initiated.

"You weren't the only one. I got carried away too."

"I should have asked your permission before going overboard."

I smiled at him.

"Adrian calm down. We were both a part of it. It doesn't need to be as uncomfortable as you are making it sound."

"I am so sorry Ginna, I lost control."

"What are you sorry for? Making out with me?" I laughed. "If anything, you should be sorry for this hickey you've given me. I'll have to wear turtle necks to hide it." I fake reprimanded him.

We both looked at each other and burst out laughing.

"You are such a drama queen.", he told me. "On a serious note, you aren't offended right?"

"Do I look like I took any offence? Of course, I was startled at first, I wasn't expecting it but I am good now."

"You sure?"

"Yes Adrian, stop bugging me now."

While we were having dinner, Adrian was lost in his thoughts.

I waved my hands in front of his sight to bring back his attention.

"Earth to Adrian" I beamed. "What's going on in that head of yours?"

"Nothing" he said.

"Adrian....??," I deadpanned. "I know something is cooking inside your head. Now, tell me."

There was a pregnant pause before he decided to speak again.

"Ginna, how was it between Nick and you? Why did you break up with him?"

Out of all the things that ran in Adrian's mind, I wasn't expecting this for sure.

"Why do you ask?"

"Just curious. You told me you dated him. I was just thinking how you could keep up with him.", he joked to lighten the mood.

"Nick and I dated for through the junior year and broke off over the Christmas break in our senior year. Our careers would have taken us different ways and we didn't want to be in a long distance relationship."
