Recap-

Suddenly, someone called my name. Shouted it more like. A huge smile of disbelief spread across my face.

"Daniel!" yelled a delighted, familiar voice, "DANIEL!" I could recognize that musical voice anywhere.

Ignoring all of the other students, now talking in pairs and looking for others, I spun around quickly, and nearly fell. That same laugh that I remembered rang forth, and the next thing I knew- someone had tackled me. I stumbled back a few paces, but managed to keep my footing. We were both laughing and crying and talking over one another- it was Kacia. Finally, took a step back and examined me at arm's length. I did the same while neither of us said a word. Before, in fifth grade, she had been pretty. Now, however, she was simply beautiful. Tall and slender, with long black hair that fluttered with the cold wind, her face still somewhat pale and once again framed by a few loose strands. Though, what I truly commited to memory: her warm gray eyes, a sculpted nose, and the smile I had always longed to see again. I breifly wondered what she thought of me, before I pushed the thought away. I was just my normal self- five foot seven- Kacia barely an inch shorter, untidy black hair, deep blue eyes, and looking almost just as I had in fifth grade- albeit much taller and skinnier. Eventually, I broke the silence. "I can't believe it, " I croaked, before clearing my throat and repeating, "I can't believe it."

Kacia then smirked with satisfaction and she quickly replied, "Guess what else?"

I didn't have time to answer before Seth suddenly appeared next to Kacia. I blinked twice, then shook myself and laughed, "How do you do that?"

Face solemn and disapproving, Seth replied, "How do you not notice?"

Kacia stifled her laughter and I just smiled, overyjoyed to see Seth as well.

"I didn't make an entrance as dashing as Kacia's but it works for me," Seth shrugged, a hint of laughter in his eyes now, "I guess I'm just not in the mood to tackle old friends and make a scene."

Kacia's face took on a mock-offended look, and she quickly retorted, "You talk as if you have moods."

I laughed aloud, and Seth shook his head sorrowfully. We talked for almost an hour, trying to catch up. I'm pretty sure it was I who did most of the talking, but everything worked out. Soon, too soon, we all had to meet in the main hall of the castle- almost like orientation at my old school, I presumed. So the three of us walked there together, through luscious courtyards, flowering gardens, and cold hallways of stone lit only by torchlight.
