tacoma, washington. settled in 1852 and abandoned a short 3 years later for mysterious reasons until 1864, when people appeared again and population grew, placing it back on the map. incorporated as an official city of the united states in 1875, children branded the old town 'witch-grounds,' playing games like 'witch-hunt,' and, 'burn the witch.' adults reprimanded these trivial children, but gathered in groups at pubs and cabins to speak of the rumored witch hunts that burned the city to the ground in '55.
rich in forests and rumors, located on washington's puget sound, tacoma conceals the horrible, mysterious past that children tell stories of in the dark.
